The joblessness of AI (WSJ)
Sounds familiar. “Everyone I talked to is consumed by AI—either how to use it, how to pretend to use it, how much they hate using it, how it’s going to eliminate their position or their company’s product,” he said.

If you’re a bottom 25% performer on your team, you’re in trouble
Managers stack rank their teams. There is obviously bias if you have a strong relationship with your direct or skip. But if you have not performed and can’t justify your salary, then you are likely gone. It’s not a charity, and they have to cut jobs somewhere to fund AI. Sales is still bloated at Oracle.
Speaking for sales, if you look at your team and you think there’s a chance you’re bottom 3, you’re likely gone. The March 31st layoffs are no joke. And co primes are in serious trouble.
Not trying to be cynical, just being honest. There are too many people who collect $150-200k year salaries and haven’t sold anything of significance or shown value, and a good relationship with your manager can only buy you so much time.
If folks think otherwise, please let me know. But we are about to see the most significant cuts in Oracle history.
We have co primes who are double paid on deals that they seldom have direct involvement with. Inside sales reps who push paper less effectively than AI could or field sellers. We are still bloated.
They will cut big time and the One Oracle and AI selling models will be figured out come June 1.
Why do we take all the overtime for normal, again?
It's not as if it will ever pay off. The only thing one can hope for is to be worked to the point of exhaustion, ditched and replaced. Working hard once made sense. Putting in some extra effort opened doors and created opportunities. It's pure masochism these days. What is it? Fear, habit, delusions that it might help you keep the job?
I'm so tired of all this
Peak combo of constant crises and steady decline, with the daily expectation of joblessness.

What's going on in pharmacy in reference to layoffs? I'm in the HD space...should I be concerned? It has changed so much.
Remember when we only had occasional layoffs?
Frequent layoffs are the norm now. We went from enjoying job security to not having any. I miss the good old days.
What areas of T-Mobile have not been affected by layoffs?
And how would I join this lucky group?
A coworker up for a promotion was laid off
He was waiting to hear if his move up was approved and he ended up getting the news he was kicked out. I have no idea how that happen or how it was allowed to happen but it goes to show that none of us are truly safe.
Looking for a telecom with fewest layoffs
Is Communications Systems it?
Are teams that got hit already now safe?
Given how crude and perfid the RIFs have been so far, I wouldn't be surprised if that isn't really the case. But here's hoping.
How much worse can it get?
Think about it. If you’re laid off and get severance, assuming you’ve been here long enough for a decent package, you at least have a safety net that gives you six plus months to find something new. It’s stressful, no doubt, but I’m not sure it’s any worse than being employed and worrying about losing your job every single day.
Well Meta... Social media... Same will happen to companies that adopt ai and not creating jobs for Americans. For laying off people without jobs
Litigations will come for companies that adopt Ai aggressively.
The question is how long will Cognizant keep you on the payroll.
My guess is when FIS ends your contract with Cognizant. That means FIS sc--wed you twice !
UP Dispatchers
How many more quarter-zip pullovers with Iron Pulse logos will it take to buy your job? UP is doing this to keep you distracted from the fact they are trying to eliminate your positions. They even tell you in the Town Hall meetings they are using technology to consolidate as many dispatching desks as possible. Meanwhile, Vena has promised the NS ATDA dispatchers their jobs through a protection agreement. What has he promised you as a "valued member of the management team"? Nothing, absolutely nothing. In 2020 they cut people who only had a few years left to fulfill their 360 months for the full Railroad Retirement annuity. They will do it again! You are not special. This is not about being against the company; it's about protecting the career you dedicate and give so much of yourself to. You are trading small prizes for a possible guaranteed job, guaranteed wage increases, much better health care during your working years, health care after you retire, and protection against territory/dispatcher consolidations.

Boeing Acquisition Brings Mixed Job Outlook for Spirit Workers
Boeing's return to Wichita offers job stability for many production workers. However, Spirit AeroSystems management roles may face layoffs or relocation. Economists note that Wichita's lower labor costs could attract more Boeing production. This could boost manufacturing jobs in the region. The city currently faces a challenge in finding enough workers to fill potential new positions.

Layoffs happening today 3/27
Several on my team received invites for 10am call today - no agenda. Peer was informed a few teams are moving offshore. They are only keeping a few leaders on a few more weeks to shift the work to OGS. WHY is this continuing to happen??? How can so many people keep losing their jobs? The ‘new’ jobs posted online are bogus & aren’t being filled. Don’t waste your time applying. It’s all smoke & mirrors. SMDH

Goldman Sachs: Oil Prices to Slow US Job Growth
Goldman Sachs forecasts rising oil prices will impact the US labor market. The bank expects a reduction of 10,000 jobs per month through 2026. This could push the unemployment rate to 4.6% by the third quarter of 2026. Slower hiring, rather than increased layoffs, will be the main driver. Consumer-facing industries, like leisure and hospitality, are most vulnerable.

BIOVECTRA Announces March 2026 Layoffs
Samfiru Tumarkin LLP is investigating recent job cuts at BIOVECTRA. The PEI-based firm began workforce reductions in March 2026. Employment lawyers are reviewing severance offers for affected non-unionized staff. Canadian law often treats such layoffs as permanent terminations. Employees may be owed significantly more severance than initially offered.

Find the nearest exit NOW
I know the conventional wisdom is to wait it out and force the company to pay you in severance. But, they'll try to deny it to you by every means they have. You just have to ask yourself one question. Is it worth it?
You'll be faced with a ticking clock of the severance checks stopping while you job hunt. No getting away from that.
Just start looking now and taking interviews with sick days or doctor's appointments and then just...leave. No two weeks' notice. No exit interview. Just tell them you quit and walk out. You don't owe them anything at all.
You'll feel great! You'll be leaving this lousy job and starting new one. No better feeling in the world. Better than waiting around in the stress test lab wondering when your number is up.
They are actively trying to exploit you in every conceivable way.
Just. Leave. Now.

How many employees work at IBM in 2026? Job locations & recent layoffs explained
https://www.thestreet.com/investing/stocks/ibm-employees
Key Points
IBM employs hundreds of thousands of workers as of December 31, 2025.
The company operates in more than 170 countries and is headquartered in Armonk, New York.
IBM is cutting jobs while increasing entry-level hiring, especially in cloud and AI fields.
Layoffs have started
Hundreds of folks, all over the place. Remember when this was considered a safe job?
Get your resume out there
Everyone here should be actively interviewing, not just browsing job postings. If you're still satisfied with how you're treated, you must enjoy the abuse. The rest of us need to be aggressively looking for an exit.
Getting laid off in February drastically improved my life
Just like most of you, I was miserable at TD. Doing the workload of two jobs, with a horrible management team. But for some reason, I wasn’t interviewing because the thought of juggling a job search and an insane workload at TD stressed me out. Well I already landed a new job (much better company) with a 20% pay increase. TD severance still running through May. This is a message to everyone still there - you HAVE to start interviewing! The ship is sinking rapidly, but if you put your mind to it, you can land another job pretty quickly. The job market is bad, but not THAT bad. Get out while you still can! Your life will improve!
Been here just under a year
Every week my job drifts a little further from what I was actually hired to do. At this point I’m basically in a completely different role, and nobody’s said a word about it. No conversation, no training, no change to my title or pay. I’ve brought it up, and nothing changes. What even is this place?
