Just like most of you, I was miserable at TD. Doing the workload of two jobs, with a horrible management team. But for some reason, I wasn’t interviewing because the thought of juggling a job search and an insane workload at TD stressed me out. Well I already landed a new job (much better company) with a 20% pay increase. TD severance still running through May. This is a message to everyone still there - you HAVE to start interviewing! The ship is sinking rapidly, but if you put your mind to it, you can land another job pretty quickly. The job market is bad, but not THAT bad. Get out while you still can! Your life will improve!

Been here just under a year
Every week my job drifts a little further from what I was actually hired to do. At this point I’m basically in a completely different role, and nobody’s said a word about it. No conversation, no training, no change to my title or pay. I’ve brought it up, and nothing changes. What even is this place?
If you're safe today, congratulations, but don't get too comfortable
FIS strategy has shifted to AI-first, instead of people matters. No matter if AI is just an excuse for cost reduction or not, if you're safe today, don't get comfortable, prepare your Plan B or Plan C. We as a tech company, as long as your job is working on your laptop, you are in danger of getting replaced by AI or cheaper labor.
Maybe you will think, okay, I'm an SME and I have unique domain knowledge, and I'm the 'valued retained team members". No, the messages you sent on Teams, the documents you saved on SharePoint and laptop, any work you do, are all training material for AI within this company (within any company having AI)
FIS keeps you today, not because of you being valuable, it's ONLY because of replacing you is A BIT MORE EXPENSIVE 'at this moment'. Please take a breath, give yourself a break, but don't get comfortable. Polish your resume, start networking, and look for a better job somewhere else.

Depressed with Anxiety
I am so grateful I still have a job, but rumors are this is the first of many more layoffs to come. It's so depressing at work. I have such high anxiety now and I feel so guilty for having my job.

Just a Reminder
AC's a walking lie. Every word out of his mouth is garbage—nobody believes a damn thing he says. He’s not a leader, he’s a joke. Terrible speaker, zero tech knowledge, just hot air and buzzwords.
And yeah, he’s right there helping ship our jobs to India, nodding along like it’s no big deal. But he’ll never own it—he’ll just smile, lie some more, and keep his cushy spot while the rest of us get sc--wed.
He should be the one getting the pink slip. Not us. Not the people who actually know what they’re doing.
Local Employer Shutdown Delayed, Workers Gain Time
The timeline for a major local employer's shutdown has shifted. This shift buys workers more time. The original shutdown date is now later. A significant change to the job market is delayed. This employer is a major local presence.

Large pharmaceutical companies collectively reduced their workforces by over 22,000 in 2025. This contraction occurred as the industry faces a $300 billion patent cliff. Uber CEO Warns of Massive AI Job Displacement
Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi offered a stark view on AI's impact. He stated many executives privately admit AI will displace millions of jobs. Khosrowshahi estimates AI could replace 70-80% of human work. He acknowledged autonomous vehicles will eventually fulfill most Uber trips. This candid assessment contrasts with public statements from other tech leaders.

Good luck to all tomorrow
May the odds be ever in your favor.
Just know it’s a normal thing here at OT, nothing you did wrong.
Onwards and upwards
I'm hoping to keep a job I don't even like
That's how bad it's become. I've been trying to find something else for months. Read the other day that it's something like 250 people fighting for every open role. The inability to change your situation no matter how hard you try is debilitating. I get overwhelmed by anxiety just thinking about losing this job.
The art of keeping your job
Honestly, lately I’ve just been really passionate about whatever my manager is passionate about. Turns out I have a lot of really strong opinions about their ideas and weirdly, all of them are great ideas. I’ve also been stepping up for the bigger projects, because nothing says “please don’t fire me” like being the first to volunteer for more work. I’ve just found that the more coffee chats I schedule with leadership, the more they seem to… remember I exist. Funny how that works. I’m not saying I laughed at every joke in the last team meeting, but I’m also not saying I didn’t.
We'll be having regular quarterly layoffs for a while
For at least a couple of years, until everything settles down. There's no doubt about this in my mind. If you like job security, you're out of luck.
Is the current world/oil situation good or bad for our jobs?
It's my first job and I'd hate to lose it before I even properly started.
Getting tired of this
Funny how a role that was "eliminated" shows up online a few months later with the exact same description. They can call it restructuring all they want. We all know what it really was.
Springfield Workforce Department to Cut 11 Positions
The City of Springfield's Workforce Development division faces job cuts. This is due to delays in federal funding. Eleven positions are at risk within the division. Six positions will be laid off by July 1, with five more possible by October 1. Core services at the Missouri Job Center will continue despite the layoffs.

Insight into job levels
Is there a resource in Workday or on the Intranet with information on job levels? There are open roles in my job level but the titles senior to mine. I’d like to understand how titles align with levels and if there are parameters around levels of new positions that one can apply for.
Jobs Posted Are Bogus/Faux
Majority of UHC/Optum job postings are bogus/faux. They are posted to suffice investors & shareholders that business is booming. Employees know differently. Stock has taken a hit & the scramble continues. Mass layoffs are desperate attempt to save the sinking ship.
For those let go, don’t plan to get re-hired. It’s smoke & mirrors on our job boards. HireVue, interviews with recruiters & hiring managers - it’s all faux. This is reported to investors & gives illusion all is good. Facts don’t lie.

US Jobless Claims Fall Amid Economic Pressures
Americans are cutting back on spending due to rising gas prices. Gas prices are approaching $4 a gallon after the Iran war. Economists predict sustained price increases could strain household budgets. Despite these pressures, U.S. unemployment benefit applications decreased last week. New jobless claims fell to 205,000, below expert forecasts.

When “Open Roles” Aren’t Really Open: A Look at LSEG Workspace Hiring
Be cautious with Product roles in Workspace at LSEG.
Many of these “open” roles already have a preferred candidate. The process can feel more about optics than real competition which means external applicants may be investing time into something that isn’t truly open.
And if you get rejected after interviewing, don’t take it personally it has little to do with your capability.
If you do interview, ask:
LSEG places strong emphasis on its values (integrity, partnership, excellence, and change) and the motto "Dictum Meum Pactum" how are these actually reflected in management, hiring decisions and internal mobility within this team?
The answers (or lack thereof) will tell you more than the job description ever will
Goldman Sachs Implements Rolling Job Cuts
Goldman Sachs will start a series of small layoffs. These reductions will continue throughout the summer. All business lines within the company are expected to be impacted. This new approach replaces the bank's previous single annual layoff event. Business-line leaders will now determine their own timelines for staff cuts.

Survived the layoffs today
I can’t say I’m happy about it, just relieved I still have a job. Two people on my team were let go.
Liars
They laid off a whole group of people today, some with over 3 years at the company. If you still have a job I highly recommend you find a backup plan.
Should I accept the job offer?
I've been getting rejected for months and this was the second company willing to interview me and the only one to result in an offer. I've only done low call volume outbound calls in Medicaid and this Customer Service Rep role says it's 60-80 inbound a day. I'm wasting $150 a month in parking at my current dead end job and this role being 100% remote is the only reason why I'm considering the $8k paycut (already tried negotiating). Do you guys think working at Optum until I get an offer elsewhere is worth it? The constant rejections are getting to me mentally, trying not to let this one offer cloud my judgement.
HSBC Considers 20,000 Job Cuts Amid AI Overhaul
HSBC Holdings Plc is reportedly considering significant job cuts. Up to 20,000 roles could be eliminated over several years. This reduction is part of an AI-led overhaul strategy. Non-client facing roles in global service are expected to be most affected. No final decision has been made yet regarding these plans.

Del Monte Leads Stanislaus County Job Reductions
Stanislaus County faces significant job losses from recent company closures. Del Monte Foods is closing its Modesto fruit cannery, impacting approximately 1,800 workers. Workforce development agencies are helping displaced individuals find new employment.

WF wanted to bring me back as a contractor
I was laid off in October. I have interviewed with a dozen or so companies over the past 4 months, including a contract position in WF technology for about 15% less than I was making before. Much less when you factor in the loss of benefits.
Last month I ended up with 4 seperate offers (including the WF tech one) in the span of about 2 weeks. Three were with financial institutions and one was with an aerospace company.
Let me tell you how GOOD it felt to call and decline the WF position.
The position I accepted pays 30% more than what I was previously making at WF AND it's full time remote. I've been in the job for almost a month and the culture difference is night and day. This company is excited to have me and I feel valued.
Wells Fargo: Thanks for providing some of leverage needed to negotiate with the better company. You can take the position you so desperately need to fill and shove it. Maybe you shouldnt have laid off the people you clearly still need. There are other companies out there who value my professional experience more than you ever did.
For those of you still drowning in that toxic cesspool: just know there are better places to work. Don't let Wells Fargo devalue your true worth, because it is probably way more than you realize.
Infinite & Layoffs
Was anyone else recently rebadged as Infinite or told they are going to be rebadged? Also, if you were laidoff, what position?
US Labor Market Cools, Workers Remain in Current Roles
Many workers are now choosing to stay in their current jobs. This trend reflects a slowing job market and reduced worker confidence. The expected quit rate dropped to a decade low of 15.9% in February. Employers also cut 92,000 jobs in February, raising labor market concerns. A low quit rate typically signals slower wage growth and fewer opportunities.

Three people gone from my team yesterday
Skilled, experienced, two were veterans. Feels like they're targeting the ones we actually need. Apparently being good at your job is now a liability.
