Ousted Hans could still pocket most of $20M salary as company cuts 15,000 jobs

The grift that keeps on grifting. He will consult through the transition.
Plus private jet perks and more for leading the company from 1st to 3rd place.
Will he still have a security detail?
Employee shareholders pay the price.

I've heard enough....

From folks who say, "The company doesn't have to give severance..." or "other companies do much less....".
What EFFIN BS.
Yes, WF HAS to provide severance. They have to abide by the employee handbook which they have published. For all you mo--ns out there who think WF is going above and beyond....LMAO! You are d-mber than a bunch of rocks!
WF HAS to abide by what they have committed to in their publications.
Yes, they can change it. But that will take time. They'll have communicate it, have to allow time for it to become policy. Even then, there will be challenges. Likely - as WF is wont to do, they'll sc--w some simply due to bad management or personal grievances. But, overall, any changes in policy will take time and have to be announced well in advance.
So to those of you who say, OH! But they are so awesome, they give sooooo much in severance!
I say to you, what a bunch of buffoons. You su-k. Totally and literally. Get a grip. WF only gives severance to shut folks up after a long tenure, then pittances for them. Why doesn't anyone talk about the employment contracts Sr. Executives get? With guaranteed bonus, guaranteed retirement, guaranteed yearly increases (based on actual, things that are written down)?
Yep, what a bunch of losers that decry what we, the workers complain about. We, the workers - are due MORE. MORE than what we are getting when we are thrown to the curb!!!
Just saying, had to get that off my chest. OK everyone, go back to your bingo games.....LOLOLOL

Am I blacklisted from working at Wells Fargo?

Now what if I told you I was a former BNY Mellon employee who was let go several months ago, and has made dozens of attempts to look for work at Wells Fargo. A vast majority of my former coworkers also left BNY from 2024-2025, either voluntarily or being let go, and they coincidentally ended up at Wells Fargo.

So far I've faced nothing but rejections, some of them instantaneous. When I login to the WF Workday site to keep track of my various applications, I've noticed that all of the dozens of the applications in my dashboard have "no longer considered" for their statuses. All of them.

Do you think it's personal, as in someone at WF remembers me from BNY and does not want me there – or is it how they're treating everyone nowadays?

The amount of coping on Linkedin is hilarious

One person called Verizon their dream job. Another few people were 'thanking' Verizon. Another few were claiming that these people 'deserved it'.

Stop breaking your backs for this company, man. Have some respect. You don't need to have all of the answers, but people don't need to be su-king up to the incompetence in this company.

PepsiCo Code of Conduct is a joke

So every year we employees have to do “training” about the PepsiCo code of conduct. This is the first year in my many years as a Faithful employee where I have felt it is a performative joke. My senior leadership is very much violating said code of conduct by creating a toxic and antagonistic work environment. And it is apparently CEO sanctioned. PepsiCo is no longer the supposed ethical company it claims to be. Anyone telling you otherwise is lying.

Boca employee news

we are hearing rumors that employees are moving to a different location in january and there could be a layoff round in december and that butters construction and the boca development fell through and there might be a fire sale of the facility like 320 park last year. What have all of you heard ?

Abu Dhabi

While Hans is running through the streets of Abu Dhabi shouting “Leeeeeesssssss Gooooooooo” and Dan the man is completely silent, VZ Employees are left with what today?

Who actually has any morale or pride left in working for this company? Is anyone actually proud to be a VZ employee? If the business as a whole doesn’t sink, the morale and sense of pride sure have. Prove me wrong.

Transitional employees left in the lurch

Former Hessie in transitional role. It's been 7 weeks and we are abandoned in the Hess building incommunicado. Not a one of us has been contacted by our new CVX managers. Logging on while collecting a paycheck just in case. 👀
I spoke with some CVX transitional people (former coworkers of mine from a past life) and they too have been cast off from their original team and left in the lurch.

No one understands why they kept us on the payroll but I suppose it's a good problem to have if I don't die from boredom. No plan for us whatsoever. Thank god my tenure ends in 1 month. I pity the ones being held hostage till summer awaiting severance.

This is the strangest layoff I've ever seen/lived thru in more than 20 years (and 2 of those were CVX acquisitions in the 2000s).

Facts!

Verizon's number of employees has been declining over the years. Here are the numbers:

  • 2024: 99,600 employees, a 5.5% decrease from 2023
  • 2023: 105,400 employees, a 9.99% decrease from 2022
  • 2022: 117,100 employees, a 1.1% decrease from 2021
  • 2021: 118,400 employees, a 10.44% decrease from 2020
  • 2020: 132,200 employees, a 2.07% decrease from 2019
  • 2019: 135,000 employees
  • 2018: 144,500 employees
  • 2017: 155,400 employees
  • 2016: 160,900 employees
  • 2015: 177,700 employees

The decline in employees is part of Verizon's restructuring efforts under new CEO Dan Schulman, aiming to reduce costs and improve competitiveness in the telecommunications market ¹ ² ³.

I hope they cut the missing in action employees

I pray only those that weren't working anyway get cut. The ones that are never on any calls, ignore emails, not on slack, you don't even know if they're working or on vacation. Somehow they always get away with it. Whatever that group of people's number is that's the number of employees vz should go down.

Ex-Nike here. So happy

Leaving Nike was the best decision I've made in my life. I did not realize I was in depression working in such a company where employees don't do any actual work. I was at Nike for 5 years and left soul s**king Oregon and Nike. Much happier, lost 30 pounds in a year, my health markers are healthier.

My friends who work there have been trying to get a job for 3 years. That's what nike does to you - make you unfit for jobs outside!

Why no WARN data on TWC site for COP

There is still no listing for the upcoming COP lay-off on the TWC site. The list is obviously up to date because there are listings from the end of October. This is just one more reason why Texas su-ks and needs a complete overhaul from the top down. It is never for the people here with the current regime in power. Examples are:
support to take away women’s rights, minimizing employees rights, having Ten Commandments posted in public schools, not being able to bring citizen referendums to the polls, and playing political games with national guard just to lick the boots of the mo--n leading this country. We should never go as far as California but there is something in between Texas and California that works better than the current situation.

Snakes come to Defense

Another linkedin post where the poster and the former employee is sharing his opinion based on what he has experienced and have someone others go through with fake PIPs. And guess what the two XOM lifers and kool-aid drinkers do? Defend DW and mgmt. committee. One drinker defends PIPs by saying those all who got PIP deserved it and even before Covid. Another snake, brown noser, and kool-aid drinker defends Dareen, MC. Both of these DWs peons are calling the poster sour grapes. Especially when neither these two have been on the other side and neither experienced what it feels like being on the other side. These two id--ts also know how exactly XOM people who were laid off in 2020. They were treated with all but dignity and respect. There's a whole WhatsApp group of these people and if you hear their individual stories on how they were treated and lack of support, it is horrendous. But these two snakes dont want to know nor acknowledge any of these but rather act and defend their soul owner DW and MC. Such a pity souls. The unfortunate really and state at XOM? These two snakes lifted their heads to protect their masters and there are many more like them. Look around your desks and start identifying these snakes who will strike and bite you in during your vulnerable time. Shame on you guys. Those of your friends who know how Xom operates has now seen your true colors.

Rumor has it that Dell plans to implement a GPS program on your systems.

I heard through the grapevine that there is an NDA project in the works that will allow Dell to install a GPS type program on everybody's computers so that they can monitor if you go to office and for how long. As for remote employees, they will be required to do an on-screen "puzzle" type thing to prove you are still at your computer; once an hour.

Nothing concrete but, this is just what I've heard.

Yes, Sir. What a good idea.

After years of fighting it, I have finally figured out how to play the game.

It’s actually easy once you know how it works:

1.) Strip yourself of your identity and any sense of self
2.) eGet it through your head: You do not exist to contribute. You exist to serve.
3.) Plaster a smile on your face. “Yes, I’m on board. But, no, I don’t have anything to add.” Always neutral. You’re neither excited or angry.
4.)Leave work. Go about your day.

I’m telling you. This works. It won’t get you a promotion, but it lowers your expectations so you’re not disappointed when (not if) it doesn’t come through.

Congratulations! You are finally free.

Try it for a week and comment back here. Your circumstances did not change but do you feel happier?

The Outsourced Villain

I didn’t get laid off. That’s my crime.

I’m still here in Bangalore — bleary-eyed at 2 a.m., staring into the blue glow of another Zoom call. The Americans on mute, the managers on script, the executives smiling from Spring, Texas, while delivering the latest sermon: “This is not a layoff. This is transformation.”

And I nod along. Because nodding is safer than questioning. Survival in this machine doesn’t mean performing well, or collaborating, or innovating. It means parroting the story exactly as it’s handed down. No edits. No hesitation. Clap when they clap. Smile when they smile. Pretend the slogans mean something when we all know they don’t.

On the anonymous forums, I read the curses: “Damn Indians.” “They took our jobs.” “Outsourcing ki-led us.”
And in that moment, I become the villain. Not an engineer, not a human, not a man with a family. Just a placeholder: cheap labor, offshore body, the thief in someone else’s story.

But here’s the punchline: I didn’t ki-l anyone’s job. Neither did the guy three floors above me or the coder across town pulling a night shift with chai and instant noodles. The true executioners sit higher up. Senior management writes the script. Middle management enforces it.

Middle managers — ah, the great priests of ExxonMobil. They don’t believe in the gospel, but they chant it anyway. They gather us in Zoom town halls and deliver the holy lines:
• “This is about efficiency.”
• “This is how we stay competitive.”
• “We must all align with leadership messaging.”

Then they turn off their cameras, go back to their spreadsheets, and quietly decide which “asset” is expendable.

And the rest of us clap. Because clapping is mandatory.

The truth is uglier than the curses: Americans blame Indians. Indians blame themselves. But the real game is higher. We are not colleagues anymore, just chess pieces moved to satisfy a curve, a cost target, a shareholder’s smile.

So yes, blame me if you must. Curse me for still having a job. But know this: tomorrow it might be some place else. Or an algorithm. The villain will always be whoever management points to, as long as the real architects stay untouched.

ExxonMobil says: Energy Lives Here.
But after this round of
sermons, we all know the translation:
Truth does not. Empathy does not. Only messaging does.

Voluntary Severance Package?

I commonly hear about people getting a voluntary severance package as opposed to laying people off. What incentives does that package include to get people to leave? Also what criteria do they use for offering one to employees. I’ve been here for nearly two decades and never received one.
