Representative Horsford Introduces AI Layoff Disclosure Bill

Nevada Representative Steven Horsford introduced new legislation. This bill mandates companies label AI-related layoffs. It is named the AI-Related Job Impacts Clarity Act. Representatives Sara Jacobs and James Moylan co-sponsored the bill. The legislation requires companies to disclose these layoffs to the Department of Labor.

Google Dweebs Hellbent on Terminating All Microsoft Licenses

Did everybody get a kick out of the latest Going Google Newsletter, uh, I mean propaganda rag?

Manipulated survey results, laughable fact-checking regarding Chromebooks, forcing everybody to give up Microsoft without anyone really having a say, you know managers will cow-tail to corporate and not issue exceptions to protect their departmental budget.

Absolutely infuriating even though we all knew it was coming.

What departments?

Any one know specifically what departments are being considered? I was laid off during the UnitedHealthcare layoffs back in September of 2024. Centene hired me after a long 7 month search and now I can’t believe im having to go through this again! i I thought centene was going to be my long term after such a devastating time and now this.

July & August layoffs?

I heard a rumor that there will be layoffs on July 15th, and then more on August 15th? Has anyone heard about this? Not sure if it's even true, or what departments.

Q2 earnings reports are expected to be on July 30th, so the July 15 layoffs would be ahead of that call. I overheard this information before the reports that the EU approval for the WBD acquisition is July 7th.

Tried to improve coordination and it backfired

I ended up getting formal performance feedback not long after suggesting during a meeting that product planning would probably run smoother if a few departments worked together earlier in the process. A mistake I won't be making twice, that's for sure.

Workflow changes

I have been asked as a care coordinator to switch work flows this month (June) and work new areas that I have never worked before. Everything came out of the blue a few days ago and other care managers from different department are now working the area that I worked and grown accustom to. Does anyone know what is going on?

They are going to offer overtime the contractors in India

I work in the credit fraud department, where overtime is often offered. However, today, they announced that overtime is no longer available for stateside employees, but the contractors in India will now be able to work overtime. We inquired about the reason behind this decision, and they simply stated that overtime is not a guaranteed benefit. Furthermore, on March 20, they laid off a few remote workers from my department. All of these events make me feel uneasy. Anything like this going on in your department?

Federal Public Lands Workforce Shrinks in Mountain West

More than 5,800 federal public lands workers departed last year. This affected eight Mountain West states. Agencies like the U.S. Forest Service saw significant declines. Many workers were reassigned to the Interior Secretary's office. This reorganization may lead to slower decision-making.
