Is there a difference if the meeting is scheduled with HR alone versus HR + a MGR (like if it means laid off versus moving to different org)?

G6,5,4 - majority are youngsters getting laid off. Runway if you are young this is a company for dinosaurs

That just got notified they were laid off would be On here. Sorry it’s a bunch of lying trolls in the real world they’d be figuring out insurance and severance and contacting family.

If you get notified , do they give you a chance to find another role within Fidelity?

Anyone hear of anything in FI, Fid Institutional? Part of my group joined Fid Wealth earlier this year but we are remote this week and not sure what’s happening. Another teammate is going out on stress leave. Everyone is beyond miserable.

Any one see any pattern in the layoffs ? IP ? Squad leads with small squads ? Platform team SLs? etc

I've seen several people saying different things (unexpected scheduled meeting, email...) so which is it? Or is it how a manager decides to let their people know?

SLs and Architects who are in G8s are asked to take up G7 roles or are they are getting fired ?

Upper middle management. Not saying anything else for the sake of not ousting myself.

AI and globalization and robotics ARE having and continue to be our biggest threat collectively. So this is a blip on what’s coming down the Pike.

Most of these layoff posts are some type of sadists.I dont see anything happening in the office

It’s likely a small percentage being impacted. There’ll be a lot of rumors and hearsay on here. Hopefully it’s just been a lot of bad rumors.

There was a manager in my group who was about to get fired because of how toxic she was. But then had a minor injury and just kept playing up for almost a full year. If she is let go, that would be the best kind of karma.

Asked my manager straight if I am part of the layoffs. He seemed to be unaware and pretended that he didn’t know much. Either he’s on the chopping block with me or is playing d-mb. I do see a 15 min slot booked on his caleder tomorrow at 9:30. 😂
