Every day I become more disappointed

And disillusioned with Fidelity.
Is it my imagination that career moves lateral up or sideways don’t exist?
I feel like I’m spinning my wheels making no progress.
Mind you it’s a good job decent enough pay clearly a nice benefits offering but I’m going nowhere.
I’ve made gains in my skills that show initiative and intellect.
Nothing seems to help me grow or advance in any way, shape or manner.
I feel like maybe it’s time to cut hair and look externally.
What is it they are looking for? I mean I hate to say it but it sure seems like young Asian women rule is it just I’m the wrong gender and ethnicity/race?
Could HR be this shallow?
I’m not speaking sarcastically I happen to be very intelligent, extremely professional and polite and nothing changes regarding my career here.

Age Discrimination?

I am not acusing target of Age Discrimination but want to see what other folks think about this. Based on what we know so far, do you think that age played any role in the layoff selection process? My group was completely spared but being 59 this is one of the things I've been thinking about recently. I believe that age is a category that needs to be reported when mass layoffs are taking place, hopefuly we'll share numbers too. In the meantime, please chime in if you have any info or personal observations.

Pattern showing up with disabled employees?

heard this same story a few times now. A buddy in Digital said they told mgrs about hospital stuff, got promised support, but when cuts came the scoring didn’t take anything in to account. And in BRG, some chatter sounded the same. Then there was a yammer post too, almost word for word. feels like ADA is just surface decoration here, looks good on paper but doesn’t change how people get treated. anyone else seen it. wouldn’t be first time bp gave support in name only?
