Retail layoffs
Is there any credible information regarding closures of retail locations or conversions? When is this supposed to begin and how big of an impact? Also, for stores that stay open, has anyone heard about changes in leadership structure?
The real estate and rf teams were cut drastically. Of course the build plan is not as originally planned before the firings.
It stands to reason the overall workload is going to be less (but may be more for some people, depending on the job function). The network is being allowed to deteriorate. Not as many real estate people and rf engineers are needed if we are going... — read more
VZ stock, beanie babies, tulips, bitcoin - hype it the right way and people will buy it.
Just don't be the last one to own it. The network is slowly degrading.... The c-suite folks are already getting out.
Severance for NJ employees off payroll 2/20
Quick question for anyone in New Jersey who was part of the Feb. 20 layoff wave. Did you only receive half of your severance so far? If yes, have you heard anything about when the second half is supposed to hit? Also, any word on the RSU payout... — read more

vote NO!
Again we are being promised another “cost of living adjustment” at the end of the contract. Healthcare is going up. Inflation is on par with the raises so basically we are left with nothing but what we started with. Can someone explain to me why I pay... — read more
Workload
Curious how everyone's workload has been since the cuts. It's been long enough to know the real impact. My team lost just one person, so it's been manageable so far. But I wonder how teams that got cut in half are doing. How bad is it?
Move union threads to a different session
Can the Mods create a separate thread or link for the Union folks? Just like VzW has its own...since these folks started posting here, we lost the fundamental topcs....
Retiree medical not addressed? Did the company use a "neuralyzer" on the union?
Last year company/union talks broke off supposedly over the raise in caps for retiree healthcare. Now we have a tentative contract where the info just released does not seem to address this issue at all. Did the company use that memory erasing device... — read more
Article about the the future
Despite the online gushing about a Verizon turnaround since CEO Dan Schulman took over, the completion of its break up by delayering, which started more than 10 years ago, seems a far more likely outcome for what was once the top wireless provider in... — read more
To everyone asking about Stock Together
Just took a peek at the union contract. If ratified, it says that their Stock Together will no longer continue and they are receiving an additional $500 in corporate profit sharing in lieu of. If that's an indication of our (management) stock... — read more
Should I wait for Dans layoff promo?
My iPhone 15 pro needs an upgrade, but I’m wondering if it would make sense to wait for the next Dan layoff so I can get a good deal on a 17pro or the new 18 pro?
You sold out the new hires, years ago!
You (union) created the two tier system we currently have amongst our work force. The new cps awarded to new hires is not enough, not nearly enough. The contracts are still being geared towards the ones with the 500k pensions... it's infuriating. Im... — read more

Can layoffs mess with your head long term?
Been through multiple rounds myself over the past few years for various reasons. Even though I'm employed now, I can't shake this feeling that it's about to happen again any day. Which, working here, a lot of times makes sense, but it's happening... — read more

The stock is responding well now over 51. Keep your foot on their throats Dan!
Relax, Chill and enjoy your paychecks and STI
Dan said layoffs will not be incremental meaning the 20% reduction was a one time only. This is a black swan event that doesn’t occur frequently. Just relax most of you will be fine!!!

LAYOFFS!!!!
Still waiting on “proof” that those caught in the Nov 20 cuts would have ALL outstanding RSU vest.
Basically, someone stated that the Nov 20 layoff was some kind of exception to the prorated RSU treatment that involuntary separations receive. That those caught in this particular wave would have all future years (the two tranches for 2027 and the... — read more

Why not offer VSP company-wide?

Massive layoff
A significant layoff is expected soon on the retail side. I’ve heard from a source that leadership plans to convert up to 90% of corporate locations to indirect locations by the end of the summer.
More layoffs coming this June!
Additional layoffs are expected in June for the retail workforce, and more stores are being converted to indirect locations.
