Why would we have layoffs?
We're doing amazingly well. I think people are just looking for things to stress over. Enjoy this while you can, I'm sure it won't last forever.
20 souls to leave next week
Be mindful of the 20 or so people from sales who will be laid off next week
Thoughts and prayers
I'm seeing more PIPs being given, and for no good reason
I've seen multiple people placed on PIPs in the last six months. It's making me nervous. Is this just how things work here? Or is it a strategy to document people out the door so they don't get severance? I'd really like to know if I'm being paranoid or if this is a legitimate concern.
General Motors May Cease Oshawa Silverado 1500 Assembly
General Motors reportedly plans to end light-duty Chevrolet Silverado 1500 production. This would occur at its Oshawa, Ontario assembly plant by late 2026. The plant would then only produce heavy-duty Silverado variants. This shift would sharply reduce output and employment. GM Canada denies these reports, citing future investments.

Why do we still have open positions?
We keep laying people off, and yet we keep posting openings at the same time. What's the point?
Everyone's leaving
Everyone - and I mean every single person - on my team is job hunting. Not all with the same urgency, but all of them. Leadership doesn't seem to notice or care. I think we'll see a major exodus of talent as soon as the job market improves even slightly. I bet they notice then.
Has any team stayed completely intact through the last several rounds of layoffs?
I wonder if there's anything the leadership thinks is truly essential.
July layoffs
Does anybody have more info? Too many rumors circulating to just outright ignore it, as much as I hope it isn't true.
Schwebel's Final Bakeries Closing by Labor Day

I don't want to be laid off
But I'd rather know now if I'm going to be show the door than wait and stress for months. Just expecting layoffs all the time is making me miserable.
US Jobless Claims Fall, Labor Market Shows Strength
Initial unemployment claims in the US fell. This signals that layoffs remain low despite economic uncertainty. Employers continue retaining workers due to skilled labor shortages. The Federal Reserve monitors this employment data. Consistent employment aids consumer spending and economic growth.

Grim picture for the state of Xbox
Xbox executives depart while Compulsion Games shuts down
Corporate leadership changes rarely come without internal shakeups, reorganizations, and layoffs, and Xbox appears to be going through that right now.

Prepare yourself
Whether more cuts will happen next month or later in the year, everybody should know by now they're coming. The best way to stay sane is to be prepared. Start looking right now, even if you don't plan to leave unless you have to. Have a plan B AND a plan C.
Get rid of the fat
I actually think layoffs could be beneficial for this place. We have so many layers of management doing exactly nothing that nobody would miss. Instead of laying off the people who actually get things done, they should for once let go of the right people and everybody would benefit.
Can the Phoenix rise from the ashes?
The past 5 years have been such a mess for this company. Clients, Staff, and investors have all suffered through what Kelly, Bill-n-Bo (at the time), and the boards though would be a huge payday for them. SunTrust and BB&T were culturally and mission entirely different. Both organizations lost so many good bankers who went on to the new rising stars in banking, Seacoast, Pinnacle, M&T, TD, 5/3rd, Huntington. Clients left too, when they lost their trusted banker (can't name those here). Those people and clients will never return. I hope the organization is now turning the corner for everyone's sake. But...be sure, more changes are coming for clients and staff.
The age discrimination
In the last several layoffs, our team lost everybody above 50, and even two people in their late 40s. The rest of us are all here. I don't know if this is the case company-wide, but it certainly left a bad taste in my mouth. Really shows us there's no future for any of us here once we hit a certain age.
Global Empire Corporation Layoff Payout Remains Unresolved in Nova Scotia
Global Empire Corporation laid off 74 employees in March 2024. The company closed its call centre in Liverpool, Nova Scotia. A provincial regulator ordered GEC to pay nearly $194,000 to 69 workers. This payout was for failing to provide proper layoff notice. Global Empire Corporation appealed the decision, and the dispute remains unresolved.

What kind of severance is being offered?
Is there somewhere I can check?
Careerminds Study: Layoff Impact Lingers for Months
Careerminds conducted a new survey on layoff recovery. Organizations average 7.2 months to fully recover workplace culture. Trust in leadership and company future significantly declines after job cuts. These trust levels often remain below pre-layoff averages. Team-building and other strategies can accelerate recovery but are underused.

Time to go
This is the perfect moment to think about exiting. Leadership has shown their true colors. We know they don't value people, but only care about their own bank accounts. Our reputation is completely shot and new talent won't touch us. Time for us to start looking out for ourselves.
I'm hoping there are layoffs this week
I'm so over feeling overwhelming dread every Sunday. Give me severance and I'll happily leave. Even being unemployed would be better for my mental health than this constant torture.
Any news on Poland?
Any news on layoffs in Poland? Has someone been impacted already in the last round? Or consultation process still in progress?
Good luck everyone
Just a short note to wish everyone good luck at this stressful time.
Losing your job is scary but here are some things worth remembering if you get the chop.
It’s not personal, it’s not a judgement on your ability, work ethic or personality.
It’s the incompetent actions of a failing leadership.
You will feel a whole load of emotions, especially if you’ve been at fis for sometime.
Do not make rash decisions in the first few days.
Do try to be polite and professional despite the fact that they are treating you like sh!t. immediate managers handle these things in different ways. Some just read the script, others read the script as they must and then call you separately. Most of the time they have very little if any choice in who gets cut. On rare occasions the tw&t will expect you to spend your last days handing over everything you do to someone else. IF you can say no without losing any payout I’d say no. IF you would lose a payout by refusing, smile, say yes and maybe ‘get sick with stress’ 😊
Lastly remember it’s fis’ loss when you leave, not yours!
Any correlation? Serious question
The call center building we work in will be closing. We've received hints could be the end of the 4th Quarter, 2026, OR the end of the 1st Quarter, 2027. (Basically in the next 6-9 months. We get the impression from events unfolding, it could be the Tuesday after payday on July 7th?! We find it interesting that the call center will have no electricity or air conditioning July 7, 8, 9 due to the Generator going into a "downtime". It could be merely a coincidence, however researching on the web indicates taking down a generator for a building that's slated to close, could be a sign of events unfolding sooner than later.
Stock in complete free fall, now I'm really worried for more future layoffs
I was hired last August, and my RSUs are basically nothing at this point. I'm really disappointed with how this company is run, how/who they're hiring. Most of all, I'm seeing more contractors and offshoring. This company needs to innovate, and I don't see that happening here. I'm done here, I'll start applying elsewhere. Good luck to you guys
Do the view counters here get reset or rollover?
It seems some posts show around 9000 views then the next day or so show a much smaller number. Merely curious, there at so many views right now as the date of the next purported layoffs (Tuesday) loom.
Many have been generous with inside information, if you can share, please do.
Absolutely dreading going to work tomorrow
Tomorrow I’m logging into Gainwell, and honestly, I’m not happy before I even open my laptop. I’m just a regular worker, not some big-degree expert, just someone who learned by doing and is hanging on to this job because I have to and definitely not because the company makes me feel safe or valued. My boss is from Florida and she’s loaded - big house, fancy trips all the time, talking about “recharging” like the rest of us aren’t sitting here praying our name doesn’t end up on the next layoff list. When she says “we all have to tighten our belts,” I want to laugh, because if I get cut, I’m worrying about rent and food, and if she sc--ws up, she still has money stacked and options everywhere.
I see what’s going on in upper management. People are getting worked to the bone, jobs are being shipped off to cheaper places, and they slap the word “strategy” on it like that makes it smart instead of cruel. They sit in their meetings while people like me are burning out, stressed, and scared, wondering if today everything falls apart. Tomorrow I’ll still log in and do my job because I don’t have the luxury not to. My rich boss will be just fine no matter what happens at Gainwell. It’s people like me who get crushed when this place decides we’re just numbers on a spreadsheet.
Tampa layoffs mid July
MD let’s slip on a call Friday that there are layoffs coming mid July. What are you guys hearing?
Auto Layoffs
Anyone hear a rumor about something coming in Auto Finance?
Phoenix, AZ Layoffs
I've heard from employees there of pending Layoffs at Schwab in Phoenix, AZ. Especially for the tenured employees to hire new people much less cost.
The waiting game
This is excruciating not knowing really what to do. I feel like it's all a game. Spin the wheel or pass and hope you pick the right curtain. We live paycheck to paycheck as it is. Gosh if I was a zillionair I would give up most of my salary first to save jobs for others who literally need the money. I don't understand why one would think they need that much money. You could not take that many vacations or buy enough cars anyway so why just why are ppl so freaking greedy. You can't take it with you when your gone. Just so torn and literally having too many heart palpitations over this game show. This is unbelievable!
Baystate Franklin nurses speak out against hospital layoffs
Baystate Franklin Medical Center nurses are sounding the alarm after hearing about layoffs impacting as many as 22 departments across the Greenfield hospital and the rest of the Baystate Health system.

No effect on the stock
In fact, that's not true. Not only did not layoffs improve the stock, they've just sped up the fall. We're more than 20 percent down in the last three weeks, the lowest it's been in the last six years. I guess the move to cut almost ten percent of your global workforce is not the investor darling it once was.

Any news on something similar happening here?
