I was working closely with an individual who was unfortunately let go..
Are they still suppose to work? I hope NOT. I am not sure how to approach or not approach at all.

What happened?
Duplication -will those roles be gone?
Admins?
Cashiers?
Any ideas how long will Chicago and St.Louis continue?
Who's next? Or are they done at that level and now will focus on the next levels?
How deep will Bain's cuts be?
Has anyone considered consulting an attorney? Not for wrongful termination. Just to review the numerous documents to make sure we're not getting sc--wed according to your state's laws.
The district has already laid off staff, including counselors and teachers, because of budget cuts. Students and community members are pushing back against the reductions.

Students and families are worried about the impact on classroom support, counseling, paraprofessional services and overall student experience.
The district acknowledges the cuts, but also suggests they are doing what they can to continue operations and maintain instructional quality.
They’ve been a never-ending affair for a long time.
I wish for an alternate reality where none of us had to live in permanent existential dread.
It’s only going to get worse until the next round hits.
I really hope better jobs find the people we lost yesterday, and soon. As far as the leftovers are concerned - none of us should stop looking for other options. Something will eventually work out.
There was a rumor about the 12/18 date for more Wellmed/Optum layoffs, but someone just received an in person meeting for 12/4 and they're concerned so I wanted to see if anyone had heard about anything happening then?
What was the deal today with that firm wide system outage between 12-1:00? Comms screens, Outlook, Zoom, Surpas all went down and rumors were saying cyber attack. It was down for over 45 minutes in my area. Not one email was sent out by the powers that be to keep us in the loop of what was broken and what ETA was. Very odd and not normal. Not sure if anyone else heard anything?
I haven’t received notice that I was laid off but I haven’t been receiving email since yesterday afternoon, not even the daily Workvivo message that comes every morning. Have been off on Vacation for a few days
I got the call yesterday that my position was eliminated, but I haven't received and severance papers yet. My peers have received there papers. Is it because I'm out on STD?
Believe I read that we have/had 40 projects in the pipeline. Any idea of the status and if any have been implemented? Looked at the Verizon board yesterday and the blood bath was scary. Will those projects cause the same thing here or will we continue with the slower Chinese water torture.
Anyone have real insight on when Risk layoffs will start?
Does anyone know what is going to happen to the new grads that are supposed to start next Spring?

Checking in — are there any additional layoffs happening today, or was everything supposed to be finalized yesterday? Haven’t heard anything from leadership.
I’m wondering…
How does he feel about his nickname? Dan the Hatchet Man? I wouldn’t be surprised if he actually likes it.
How does it feel to cause such intense pain and misery to 13,000 individuals, multipled by 3 or 5 when you take into account, the family members of those who have been laid off?
they protect themselves , not the others
Do we know the total layoff count as of yesterday? Was it 13k or with more to add to today’s count? Is it over?
For stores to look they way they do this close to Black Friday is deeply concerning. Everything is being run by text messages, I haven’t seen an actual Belk executive in months. I am under the assumption that the RVP and GVP are stretched so thin, they can’t visit all the stores. Freight is pilling up, call outs are through the roof, payroll is less than previous years, workload planning is a joke.
The new CEO literally came in and said there would be layoffs. He literally said around 15,000 would be laid off.
If you thought it wouldn’t have been you, you are living under a rock.
Anyone else seeing the same? Maybe I am not looking at this the way I should. Please help.
This company is on a death spiral.
Anyone know if the CMO organization is affected?
Heard from 2 independent sources (i.e. Supervisor and above) now that the number of people not opting to relocate to Edmonton is much higher than what Management anticipated. It will be interesting to see how they handle this!!
IT is primarily focused on India, and I dislike this trend. They are the main reason for disruptions in US work culture, often exhibiting micromanagement. We had very great leaders, they were let go to be replaced. Any organizational announcements or changes were only meant to promote "birds of a weather flock together". Look at org chart and when you know budgets are tight, chop off the managed services. Additionally, leadership, including directors and VPs, seems to be accepting kickbacks from managed services to bring in cheaper labor. I'm uncertain about what the future holds for American workers and the next generation. US jobs and companies are for US people not for Asians.
What now?
Which one of you brought down the VPN!?
Does this mean we are safe or we are cooked?
Any one get cut?
Anyone in the Vec channel affected? CE's? BDM's? Directors in VEC?
Any word on North Carolina employees and what departments are getting hit?
Is the GRE group safe?
Or are they planning multiple rounds?
I am interested in what people think as I know what the execs will say.
If anyone from New York Metro is affected, please post here.
No news from the NRB side, assuming it’s safe now?
