I got the call yesterday that my position was eliminated, but I haven't received and severance papers yet. My peers have received there papers. Is it because I'm out on STD?

Does your 30 day notice period start when you get back from short term leave, or do you get pay in lieu of notice and separate the same day you return?
@OP - when does your STD end?
I'm in STD, I don't know if I'm let go or not. This uncertainty is torture.
Any ideas on how to find out?

In 2015 rif they gave me the boot the first day back from STD (surgery)
I had 35 years.
It will be rough, however you will survive
@OP They may have informed you verbally. Legally they cant serve you notice while you are on STD until you are back.

@a2 they did. My entire team got hit.
Your still on payroll as long as you milk the STD. Stay on as long as you can, when you get back then you are gone.
They called you to lay you off while you were out on STD?
