Old Boys Network

Gen X female here…
The “old boys network” doesn’t refer to us all being se-----y as--ulted or discriminated against.
It was a time where the focus was sports and the athlete and grit.
It was before we offshored everything to folks that know nothing about our company and want to su-k us dry. You get what you pay for.
It was before we had to hire the coddled generations where everyone gets a trophy and is addicted to the slack alt pages and cries over not having a succession plan.
It was where we made money hand over fist.
Not sure we can get back to that with the leaders and employees we have now. Bunch of soft bi--hes. Come at me…..

LinkedIn culture is something else

The performative posts from people who still have jobs are getting exhausting. All that humble bragging and inspirational garbage while so many of us are struggling to find work. It feels like a highlight reel from people who either got lucky or won't admit how bad things really are. Hard to scroll through it without rolling my eyes these days.

If you are sick - stay home

Nobody wants to hear your sniffling coughing sneezing all day and worse yet become a victim of your super spreading. You can tell when one is around even when they are silent - the air smells funny. FWF for forcing these sickly people to show up and sit in an already crowded space to meet the 8 hours a day, 3 days a week in-office mandate so that the rest of us could benefit from their presence.

Sleepless night

Tonight will be "fun," considering I didn't sleep at all last night, and something tells me I'm not the only one. I'm now wondering, is there even a slight chance that this will be it? That after this round, we'll be able to move on from layoffs at least for a while and focus on our work again?

What to do?

I am anticipating my time to relocate (not sure where) might come anytime. My product has a lifecycle of a few years, but many of team members have relocated and many experienced leaders retired due to age and RTO. My motivation to work is low and minimal human interaction is gutting me.

Should I relocate and hope to switch projects? My spouse is under stressful situations at work too with tons of work and wants to quit if I relocate or become stable somewhere.

I am unable to find work outside T due to various factors (skill gap, unfair RTO demands)

If I relocate,,we will take a major financial hit. What to do? Leap of faith of faith RTO or should I quit?

Book club

Got email that they care so much about us and our employee feedback that they are having a book reading.

They just don't get it.

In the last Employee Survey, many of you emphasized how important it is to feel that AT&T truly cares about your health and wellbeing. We heard you—and we’re taking action.

....blah, blah, blah stuff about your work-life balance being a priority...

We’ll share a bit about our personal wellbeing journeys, preview what’s coming in the program, and introduce a book we’ll read together as an organization.

Do not let this place bury you

It’s simply not worth it. Don’t let this mismanaged menagerie put you in the ground. While they shove more work and a 1% raise at you (while the CEO cleared nearly 30mm in 2024 per the 10k published). You’re doing time here that’s it. There is no future any longer working for PepsiCo - it’s just a name on a C.V. that looks good. When the economy picks up - they might as well just leave the exit door opened.

Seem OK

I honestly don’t recognise the FIS that is referenced on this site.
Sure there are layoffs which su-ks, but I work from home on interesting stuff, get paid pretty well and have a work life balance that I choose. I could get let go at any time but that’s life, it’s not like only FIS has RIFs.
There are some long rambling posts on here that seem more like a writing exercise than a true reflection of how things are.
It’s a job, not a marriage.

Designer CEO

Turned all the way off when I see our ceo dripping in designer labels, meanwhile half of us don’t get a raise… the two piece Chanel suit for 15k, the Gucci sweater on Instagram. Does she think we are stupid or does she just not care? Either way I can’t respect someone who displays such a lack of care and respect for the worker bees just trying to make ends meet.

Fake work and AI

The positive side with Ai. Now I can pretend work with useless Ai trainings. I am working with fake POC with Ai. Ask ai for some dummy implementation and call it as my poc.
I can watch Netflix whole day and still get good performance review, because everything now must have Ai, regardless if is useful or not.

Worth joining back ?

I left Cigna couple of years ago and there is an opportunity coming my way to join back. Honestly, I am tempted as I am 5 days a week in person in my current workplace. Going back to 3 days will be a big time saver . I also live just 10 mins away . But looking at the recent posts, I am not sure if I will regret this choice.

Loyalty and hard work

Exxon considers themselves to be even every time they send a paycheck. No loyalty. No consideration of the late nights or weekend work. No consideration of the weeks away from home traveling. Work your 8 hours a day and then log off. No one notices your hard work. No one will reward your extra effort. Stop caring so much.

VTP is coming!

Voluntary Termination Pay for Leg T craft is soon coming! That's up to 104 weeks pay for workers with 31 years and over. The company has decided it's cheaper to get rid of old timers via VTP than to continue keeping them on their payroll. Workers know that they'll eventually get it so very few are leaving. Most maintain the understandably simple view: "I ain't leaving till they pay me to leave!" They also know and see how the company is trying to make it so difficult with hopes they just quit and retire. But most are not leaving, and they know the company cannot easily fire them. In fact most do the minimal amount of work they can get away with without getting fired and they take advantage of all the many ways to take paid days off work knowing that their life outside of work is so very much more important as the company grows more and more meaningless.

DXC asset recovery

I left my assignment a year ago and moved to another business that seems to actually pay a decent packet for what Im doing, encourage anyone else to7 do the same

When I left, the only thing DXC bothered claiming was the laptop. My screen, 2 customer devices, an old workstation zbook and a few other things went with me
The way I see it, compensation for unpaid hours and poor treatment. Doesnt come close to thousands theyve had off me and others for free, but there

it really is shocking, isnt it?

Glad I got out. Hope you can do the same.

The content I read here continues to assure me I made the right choice by taking ERP. So many comments reflect how I felt for years after donating my time playing the NRG/Buzz-Yammer/Bold Goal/Community Day/volunteer game, thinking it would get me somewhere.

Loyalty and long-term efforts used to mean something. No more, which is why the decision I made last summer was an easy and immediate one. Especially with the current batch of self-esteem as-----ns.

Michigan: This Is What Corporate Negligence Looks Like

Humana has reached rock bottom, and that’s not an exaggeration.

SNP leadership has taken on a Michigan contract that is clearly beyond their operational capacity, and frontline associates are the ones being forced to absorb the fallout.

We received 7 hours of training for work that realistically requires at least a week to do safely and competently. Yet we are now expected to call members, keep them on the phone for two hours, complete over 100 assessment questions, conduct a full care plan review, complete ICT documentation, and do this three times per day.

There is no raise. No incentive. Instead, mandatory overtime to compensate for leadership’s decisions.

This is not sustainable. It is not responsible. It compromises the quality of care our vulnerable members deserve.

And let’s be clear: this is not what work-life balance looks like. This is not how you support healthcare professionals. This is burnout by design.
Associates are exhausted, frustrated, and deeply concerned about the direction this is going.

Branches staying open until 2 starting April 25th

New update. Some branches will start staying open until 2pm instead of noon beginning April 25th. They are sick of paying those “free” hours when you work a half day Saturday. Also going to help more branch employees to quit so they don’t have to pay severance

Return to office

With the pending cuts and return to the office , I would like to know will the office be providing free coffee and lunch at least one day a week? Am i going to have equipment at the office and at home? I should not have to carry my computer, monitors, cables between home and the office.
I now will have lost time due to travel, have to spend money on travel to and from the office.
I have been told that it is expected we are in the office eight to five and they will be monitoring who is late or leaves early. This place gets worse by the minute

PRIORITIZE YOU AND YOUR LIFE BALANCE -

I developed the skill to solve everything and anything - attended and prioritized the needs of my VPs and directors - even the ones who should have never been made directors at all - and what I got for that? A “ RIF “ ( you no longer needed) - make YOURself first - dont let
Them get to you!

Curious, anyone now hoping for je?

At this point I find myself surprisingly hoping to be on this je list, and wonder how many others have gotten here? I wasn’t feeling this way and know it’s a bad market apparently but some severance and time to pull myself out of the anxiety I now live in daily and sounds actually like the better option. Worried about further decline after more loss if I am still here, certainly not going to get better any time soon and will just mean more work for the rest of us, at the end of the day I don’t get an email I think I’ll have more envy than survivors guilt. Sad it’s gotten here used to love my job my company.

Go for the Bronze!

With the ongoing game of moving the goal posts every year to deny nearly everyone who earned an exceeds rating from ever getting one, in the spirit of the Olympics, I say “Go for the Bronze “ in 2026 - there is simply no incentive to do more and if they really want to RIF you, that will likely happen regardless of your performance. In the end you will at least have prioritized your life balance and not fallen for yet another false promise.

Stank RTF

Big John, it is time. Please resign/retire and RTF (Return to Family). You deserve to play golf and spend time with family.

Thanks for your service destroying shareholder value and sending AT&T from gold medal carrier to bronze medal carrier.

RTO Is Dead — Top Talent Won’t Play the Attendance Game

https://www.aol.com/articles/cubicles-dead-says-kevin-oleary-171606254.html

The workforce is changing and companies ignoring it are setting themselves up to fail. Kevin O’Leary recently said, “Cubicles are dead,” and warned that forcing people back into offices will only attract the bottom quartile of talent. Millennials and Gen Z now dominate the labor market, and for them work-life balance and flexibility are not perks, they are baseline expectations. As Baby Boomers phase out, companies insisting on five-day RTO will find themselves competing for the shrinking pool of workers who can’t leave.

RTO isn’t just a morale issue. It destroys value, drives top talent away, and leaves companies exposed with only the least mobile employees. The lesson is clear: productivity, collaboration, and retention follow autonomy, not attendance. Any leadership that believes otherwise is betting against the future of work.
