R2B is gone
So it's SMB now and we're sc--wed. New title and responsibilities, no OT and no raise. Enough already, time to quiet quit.
Finance 2.0
Ok we're down to about a month and a half until the impending announcement. I'm sure someone who reads these has some details. What are you hearing?
I suspect everything finance will be centralized to Houston (i.e. no teams at the refineries)
How big of an org adj is considered a “reorg” for a layoff
I’m pretty low on the totem pole but how big of a change allows for a layoff?
There have been a few high manager changes and I can’t tell if it’s just reshuffling from the layoffs last week vs just flattening out a team reporting line. Anyone have more info?
Reluctantly updating my resume
I've been avoiding this for months. I told myself things would get better, that I could wait it out. But after the last round of reorgs happened and the latest gossip about more cuts, I've accepted that I need to leave. I really didn't want to go through the interview process again. It's exhausting and demoralizing. But I feel like I have no choice anymore. I can't stay somewhere that makes me this unhappy.
Walmart Reorg
Reorg/layoffs happening in the Finance area.
Reorgs Looming
Everyone ready for another shuffle? That time is coming again!
WCIB Leadership meeting with all Managers in Austin, TX next week
Anyone know what it will be about? More Reorg I am thinking
The shuffle that never ends
I've stopped learning people's names. By the time I figure out who reports to whom, they reorganize again and everyone moves. It's been three or four restructures since I started. None of them made anything better.
did “agile coaches” know about this ahead of time, strategically speaking?
We were first introduced to these ‘traveling’ resources when the Spotify model rolled through. Are they the ones leading the “next re-org” too? If not, were any of them impacted in this? Or are they the ones pushing the enablement lead lingo…
SH / CRDN Layoffs?
What's happening with the new CRDN & SH OU (ICT)
? Will there be more layoffs as the functional leaders announce their orgs?
New operating unit merges cardiac surgery and aortic
From LinkedIn just now, from Karim Bandali:
"I am excited to share the creation of a new Operating Unit at Medtronic focused on Cardiovascular Surgery. Today, we unite Cardiac Surgery and Aortic — each with deep expertise, talented people, and a shared commitment to patients and clinicians."
SVP of Customer Success is Gone
Got word today that the SVP is gone "retiring". Wild news, sounds like more to follow. Usually this is the fuse that lights the fire. Layoffs and a reorg are definitely coming to CS. Makes sense though, you can't have 2 SVPs over CS and Retail.
Is this the end of JJ or LisaP?

for those that have reorg announced today , do you know what’s causing it?
for those that have reorg announced today , do you know what is causing it?
seems like people are getting moved to different teams across IT
About the latest reorg
Is it just me, or this looks like an "AR role was not performing as expected, so we removed his reporting lines" with an over-enterprised envelope of "This is to be more aligned with markets"?
Is something going to really change?
Reorg
Now that the divestiture is completed, when do you think reorg will occur? Titles are all over the place. And do you think reorg will include layoffs? I noticed small layoffs here and there of long time contractors.
Soft reorg
Someone on my team is leaving but we are not getting a backfill...
US team lead by India manager
I have a question. I was part of a reorg where my US based team will now be lead by a manager in India. A. Is this happening to anyone else? I presume this isn't promising for our future. B. My direct manager is still in the US, however the org chart doesn't show that he reports to the India manager? Is there a reason for that?
Best info got so far -- Decision on consolidaitos of roles across the firm.
This is what we were told :
Sr leadership are moving toward consolidating developers into larger teams (minimum of 10-15 people) rather than smaller squads.
At the leadership level:
- VP-level Squad Leaders overseeing non-prioritized projects, small teams, or any L8 Individual Contributors are at risk of layoffs.
- Those who retain their positions may be reassigned to L7 Director roles and report to Engineering.
- For non-core business functions (Finance, HR, Marketing), we may see also reduced headcount to streamline operations and reduce fat.
Specifically:
- There can be an approximate 15% reduction in technology leadership positions (L7+)
- Non-leadership roles will see minimal reductions, but still possible
- Contractor contracts may not be extended
- Please be prepared for potential changes in your reporting structure.
Reorg
My original post was deleted so I’ll filter this one. What counts as a reorg for a layoff?
Half of my group is moving to another manager, but not a BU. The head of my department is losing half of their downloaded. Am I at risk?
If you were laid off in 2026, please read
As someone who was let go from another company, here are a couple of things I'd tell my younger self:
- Take some time to process everything that happened and what it means to you financially
- It's almost impossible not to speculate why YOU. Whether there was a specific reason or not, it doesn't matter anymore
- Connect to that ex-Nike linkedin group. I heard good things
- Once it is all said and done, avoid coming back to this site
You'll feel the urge to state your opinion, and share something like "see, I knew this was going to break!". As someone who actually did this, I only regret my decision of doing so, because it took me longer to move on from being let go.
I have seen d-mb decisions that had to be rolled back later on. I'm sure Nike has done some d-mb stuff that will have to be undone. But, if I were you, stop checking this site if you no longer work here. I've only found helpful to know when these reorgs would happen so I can start prepping my resume/interviews in the event that I am cut off.
have a great one
Massive Reorg
Given recent news of the reorganization. Would it be wise to think roles will be shared between modalities? Seems like there’s some big change brewing…
Upstream/Facility Services restructure
Hear Elimination of HO/Upstream/Facility Service Regionals , Downsizing FS Manager Qty and streamlining to less directors. Overhead cuts look to be on Horizon......
Layoffs done in some orgs. Poor taste using "Tech Activation Touch Base" again.
First off, I'm sorry to those let go. I hope they're able to find something better and more secure.
Some orgs have been told layoffs are done.
I've seen "Tech Activation Touch Base" still being used for both for reorg meetings. Poor taste reusing that meeting title for both information and layoffs. Way to send an employee into panic.
Thanks a lot, ELP
Yeah, Chevron spends too much on consultants - totally agree. But since this genius reorg there's no one left to do the actual work. Now ELP has to be the guardians of anyone and anything who may use a consultant - oh, except for all the exec consultants who are out of scope. You know, the brilliant folks who designed this mess. $crew you, ELP, and a big eff you to ES.
Are we done yet?
so now what?
is today the last day of layoffs and tomorrow and thurs are the 'reshuffle the deck', deck of cards that are 2's and 3's and a couple 7's of clubs
russian roulette done, now time for low stakes poker and playing bad hands
what a joke this is, every year, there's nothing left of us, no hope, no ambition, just fear and low energy
all the wind taken out of our sails
that phk celebration gonna be real fun, but then again, the east campus seemed untouched, so I guess ol tech doesn't matter
time to move on if you haven't already........for those that remain, spend all energy on new opportunities.....this place isn't going to let anyone else retire from...those days are over....long tenured.....big red x on back.....just how it's playing out
Reorg
Got laid off last week due to reorg at Gainwell — no notice, just same-day exit. Management changes, no budget, increased pressure on teams, and offshoring made the direction pretty clear in hindsight.
It’s a tough reminder of how quickly things can shift, especially with AI and evolving priorities reshaping the industry.
Meg, hurry up and announce the reorg!
Put us out of our misery!
Ops
Was there a re-org in Ops?
IT Re-org
When is the next one? I want to press that EOI button and nope out of here ASAP.
Wealth RIF
Brokerage, Wealth, WI, PI are all under WEALTH as a BU.
Back in 2024, they split Wealth into Personal investing (PI) and Workplace Investing (WI) that had some impact and layoffs.
But the move did not make sense long term and hence with Emerson's and Bob's move Brokerage, PI, WI are again considered "Wealth" as a one BU and there's push to consolidate operations that do similar work.
With that, there will be obviously some redundancies that will be introduced.
Some slackers who have been coasting for years, will be exposed along with managers pets and those managers who are responsible for encouraging these pets.
Majority of these "pet owners" tend to be CL and GCLs, not just in Wealth but across company.
What's unfortunate is that there are some chapter leads who got "lucky" and are now "Engineering leads" but still promote favouritism.
It all stems from their own insecurity, they downplay achievements of high performer pushing them to deal with all sorts of stress, anxiety and uncertainty.
They will talk big game in the face but seriously lack basic documentation skills.
RIF - SLs,GCLs
In two weeks, a RIF will take place at WI ,Wealth & Brokerage. The SL/CL roles will be combined, and SLs will be asked to assume G8 positions. GCL roles with fewer than 8–10 direct reports will be eliminated. In most cases, GSLs will take over the responsibilities of GCLs.
EMTEC Hadcount
Seems like EMTEC is planning to increase the PIP % across all of its organizations this year. All the made up LCS roles are being reassigned back into research, Done with stories used to justify CL upgrades . At the same time, we are seeing significant redundancy across research functions, and there is heavy hiring within BTC on computational modeling, RTO, and data science groups.
Meetings are starting today (PHK)
Seeing admins and Senior Directors getting their accounts deactivated in real time who are based at PHK... so conversations are definitely happening. Exit convos should go through next Tuesday then org shifts after. Super sad!
Is this info about Wealth true?
Everything with WI is re-orging. I heard first week in May it’s announcing and paired with a RIF. Mostly affecting squad and chapter leaders.
