July 2026
What we can expect in july? Another big wave or all done?
On job reassignment, any news on the hiring freeze?
What is going on that there are only executive positions open? Im on job reassignment and slated to be laid off on June 22nd if I cant find a job. I got burnt out taking calls.
Thought Process?
How are the 55yo and under thinking they should stay until the end? You have lost out on merit increases, 401K matching and a future, are you staying just for vacation? Just curious as to how Xerox are retaining this group.
I realize some of the younger ones are just trying to build experience for a resume, and some nepatism is helping a few families. But the others?
Rifs
TRend at Bnym, and it’s not subtle.
More and more employees are being “RIF’d” under the disguise of performance issues — even when their track record is spotless. Let’s call it what it is: ageism and salary targeting.Batman and Robin don’t want to admit they’re cutting older, higher‑paid workers, so they hide behind manipulated evaluations and vague buzzwords like “not agile enough,” “not aligned with culture,” or “needs more energy.” It’s a cost‑cutting strategy dressed up as performance management.
This isn’t about merit.
It’s about money, age, and who they think they can push out quietly.
I should have fought your bullsh-t but didn't. I hope others do and this POS company gets what they deserve.
Intuit Upcoming Layoffs Plan
Do not ask me where I got this from. This is the layoffs plan:
Leadership has determined a strategic shift to cut costs, invest in AI, reorganize priorities. Finance and HR has identified which teams, roles, or locations will be reduced, mostly around Engineering. Managers are evaluating employees based on performance, role relevance, and compensation, while HR and legal reviewing the plan for compliance with labor laws and discrimination risks (Yes, external consulting firm involved).
Once finalized, affected employees are notified (by this month) — often through meetings or emails — with system access revoked immediately. Intuit will make announcement via public messaging framed around terms like “restructuring” or “AI transformation” to shape the narrative.
A hiring freeze will remain in effect for the next six months, after which recruitment will resume with a focus on new strategic priorities — even as current employees continue to shoulder heavier workloads within leaner teams and under heightened expectations.
Hope this helps.
Abby confirms cuts are over for now
Watch the Q1 update.
Would you still enjoy your Memorial Day long weekend?
Layoffs are around the corner. I am feeling so bad.
Intuit su-ks
Intuit fires people due to Covid. Intuit fires people due to AI. Intuit fires people silently from time to time. Intuit only cares about $.
Typical Citi - can't get anything to work
I had an American Airlines card from Barclays. Two days back, Barclays switched off my account saying i should deal with Citi now via landingatciti.com. Of course the website doesn't work. I would have been shocked if it did.
Then Citi sends an email about account having been migrated and payments should now be made to Citi blah blah blah. Click the link to set up the account...nothing. That website doesn't work either
Absolute d-mb@sses. Of course, I saw the incompetency from way too up close when employed at Citi. The ONLY thing that seems to work without a hitch at Citi is A) Board approving billions in share buybacks every year despite heavy layoffs and B) Jane getting salary bumps and bonuses every year. It will soon fo from 42M to 45 and then to 50.
Anything else is a total mess at Citi
Has NetApp been postering for acquisition this entire time?
There’s been a lot of speculation lately around the company’s direction — reduced benefits, PTO changes, restructuring, workforce reductions, and broader efforts to improve financial performance have naturally fueled conversations about potential strategic moves. Acquisition rumors around NetApp aren’t new and seem to resurface every few years, but the current environment has people paying closer attention than usual.
From my perspective, the bigger concern is long-term growth and leadership’s ability to scale the business meaningfully beyond its current trajectory. With another round of layoffs expected next week followed closely by earnings, it’s understandable why employees and investors are reading into the timing and looking for signals about what may come next.
Were there any RIF yesterday May 14?
Any RIFs yesterday?
Coffee badging eliminated?
I am seeing most of the desks are occupied these days. Good to see 80%+ occupancy on most of the floors in charlotte.
I have seen most people leaving the office after 4 hours but that's not coffee badging and used to be same pre-pandemic.
WPE team goal seems to be achieved and their positions are at risk of being eliminated ;)
Nielsen IQ stock price continues its decline
Trading under $8.50/share. Its IPO price was $20/share less than a year ago.
Demon David Kenny riding a wave of su-ksess.
There are no layoffs this Friday, 5/15
There are no layoffs today. Whatever news is going around is just a rumor.
VTP Coming!
Just remember reading it here on this site: VTP, per contract, will be happening soon. This includes up to two years pay and continued benefits. Sweet news! Glad I'm not management.
centerwell collapse
might as well say what we all know. each day is like watching a trainwreck even latest clueless strat team knows emrs poor planning and short staffed centers wont work. investors coming to collect in 2027 the worst for patients and staff is coming. referrals to a handful of places no lcsws and demotions for all the poor staff left holding the po-p bag. playbooks trainings and daily new workflows wont stop the terrible reputation centerH$ll now has. psa: riffing people then posting their jobs that week is trash.
Byron Allen Explains Media Company Layoffs
Byron Allen recently discussed layoffs within his media division. He described these workforce reductions as "thoughtful" and "humane." Allen attributed the changes to shifts in the broader media business. He stated the economy improved, offering new jobs for those let go. Allen Media Group also sold several local TV stations last year.

Mgmt Employees
Here’s a punchier version:
To everyone who comes here wishing they’d get surplused — your wish just came true.
The rumors are real. Cuts are coming, and they’re happening fast.
If you hate this job, go tell your supervisor to put your name on the list. Do it for the person who actually needs this job and is about to lose it.
Stop complaining. Start acting.
Confirmed - 100%
We are thriving, hiring abd returning to growth
No more layoffs. Just extra people to deal with the new business
Layoffs
I was LR‘ed early 2024.. and today I am happy it happened then and not now. Cisco does, like most US companies, not care about employees and are unable to do a proper AOP planning - at cost of the lives of tousands of mother and fathers who have to provide to their families. I hope Karma will one day catch ELT and greedy investors like Blackrock. I am now on a better place where they hire more carefuly.
Hayes Foresees AI-Driven Banking System Layoffs
Arthur Hayes spoke at Consensus Miami. He is the BitMEX co-founder and Maelstrom CIO. Hayes predicted AI-driven layoffs could cause a banking crisis. He believes Bitcoin is already reflecting this potential crisis. Hayes also shared his BTC price target and Hyperliquid conviction.

Control the controllables
Layoffs in 2026 are inevitable and I can’t help but chuckle when people come onto this board to whinge about more layoffs are coming.
Are layoffs stressful? Absolutely. No one is denying that. One thing you can do is change your mindset.
Control the controllables.
You can’t control whether you are going to be laid off or not. What you can control is finding a new job. It’s not easy to find a new job in this market, so start looking now. Don’t wait until your job is impacted to look for a new role. Who knows… you might get lucky… engineer yourself a redundancy when you have something else lined up. To do so, you have to be smart. You can’t be bitter. It takes weeks to engineer a redundancy so get your ducks in order! There is life post Citi. You might surprise yourself. You may enjoy life after Citi more than you enjoy life at Citi. Food for thought.
High Tech Hunger Games
No other way to really explain it.

Columbia College Staff Cuts Spark Union Contract Dispute

Just curious about something
I saw the news about cuts today and it got me wondering. Back in 2022 when Cisco let me go, they gave 60 days in lieu pay, another 60 days severance, PTO cashed out, and four months of COBRA. Does anyone know if the packages are still similar now or have they changed over the years? Just curious how it compares.
Fairfax County Schools Make Cuts to Prevent Staff Layoffs
Fairfax County Public Schools faces a $29 million budget deficit. Leaders proposed a plan to close this gap for the next school year. The plan avoids staff layoffs and protects core classroom programs. Cuts include reducing reserves and delaying technology upgrades. Officials warn this solution is temporary and not sustainable long-term.

Manchester Schools Redirect Funds, Avert Layoffs
The Manchester School District voted to prevent staff layoffs. The Board of School Committee approved reallocating $8.6 million. These funds were originally for school renovation projects. This decision avoids potential layoffs before a state deadline. The budget now moves to the Board of Mayor and Aldermen.

Suspect we'll see another round at the end of FY
I believe sales will be hit again after the end of the fiscal year (5/31). Some in sales were left alone during the last round to see if they could close key deals, and they might be let go after the year ends. Also, as we move into FY27 I expect a re-org/shuffle of sales teams which might result in a few more being laid off. I'm out of the loop now, but that's my expectation.
Chicago Public Schools Faces Large Deficit, Plans Layoffs
Chicago Public Schools (CPS) plans to lay off hundreds of teachers. This action addresses a projected $732 million deficit for the next school year. Federal COVID-19 relief funds, which previously supported staff, have now ended. The district has also seen a significant decline in student enrollment since 2019. CPS officials are exploring other funding sources to mitigate the shortfall.

Portland State University Plans 52 Layoffs Amid Budget Cuts

Are they watching us?
I overheard a conversation in a coffee corner where one colleague said that HR is tracking our surfing behavior, and that people who go to this site regularly are marked for the next round of layoffs.
Is this true? And if so, would that be legal, or could we challenge such a move?
Surprising, no headcount cut, announced till now

Hiring Freeze
Heard rumblings of a hiring freeze. Take a look at the careers page…only 22 listed. A mix of 22 positions that are determined to be necessary during this financial freeze. The first job option has an estimated range of 227-431k……..
The August layoff claim is not proven...
It might happen... but people are jumping from accounting math to headcount certainty. They said fewer than 4,000 jobs in Q4. They also said notifications start 5-14 and continue globally based on local laws and regulations. OK, makes sense - it su-ks but it makes sense... That alone explains why some costs roll into FY27.
The remaining restructuring charge does not automatically mean another 4K or 5K people in Aug.... It can include severance paid later, benefits, legal and administrative costs, country-specific consultation periods, delayed effective dates, and other restructuring expenses.
Could there be mre cuts later? Sure. This's Cisco afterall. But that is different from saying Aug is confirmed...
Unless someone has an actual internal list, mgr confirmation, country schedule, or filing that says another wave is planned for Aug, the aug number is still speculation... people should stop treating it like a confirmed fact just because the 1B charge is split across Qs.
If Someone Can Post Latest Employee Count From Aria / Slack ?
I am waiting for the count to be < 5 soon
SVP or D level
I wish I would have been in SVP or D level to not get axed. So far what I have seen only these levels are in decision panel and only vp avp getting cut. Which makes no sense though because they again hire new resources for those positions once the wave is crossed. They don't have any idea what are they doing (an ordinary VP has better understanding) just thinking themselves as king and cutting people they don't like not on merit.
The lay off is creating big mess for Collab BU
Lots of critical engineers on critical location are leaving, it is the biggest stupid lay off I have ever seen...
