Mixed Emotions
Feeling so uneasy tonight. I just realized that tomorrow is the last day for those who received a VSP. I was lucky but it’s not lost on me that tomorrow will be some’s last paycheck. We lost a total of 4 people in our area and none of them have found new jobs.
Report showing 200 items under Kevin Z
So kudos to people keeping slacks open to the public, most people probably saw the 29k reference. However I found a new one showing 200 people under Kevin Z... also OWBPA report was referenced. So it looks like the retail rumors are definitely true. One more week till we all know if we have a job or no job going into 2026. Really su-ks that this is our reality, hoping for the best.
VPs if you’re reading this
If any VP is on this thread please just tell us how you decided who to layoff. It’s happening at this point. At least you’ll save us having a speculate for the next week. I know you’re supposed to be tight lip, but please please please. Just tell us.
Layoff time
Quite a few today.
do we still get paid?
if we are the (un)fortunate, and our last day is 12/20 or 1/20 or 2/20, do we still get paid during this time? and then we get our package after? will everything be in tack as if we are still FTE?
Is there still a rig package?
Or just the boot?

Position eliminations
Hearing Splunk and other Cisco layoffs today. Anyone else?
Staying here was a mistake, is it too late to EOI?
I’m going to leave next year regardless once my CIP hits. Is there a way to EOI so I get severance? What if I just stop working? Will I get severance for involuntary termination? Between a prorated CIP, Cobra, and severance it could be worth over 100k for me to do this vs. leaving voluntarily.
RIF PROCESS
Does anyone here actually know how they got the 15K number?
Was it formula based on Pay, Insurance, WFH?
Was it just spread across the whole business?
Was it mainly performance based?
Someone here surely knows this?
Oshkosh Defense plans to lay off 160 workers
- A union leader attributed the layoffs to the company's focus on military contracts despite losing a major JLTV bid.
- Oshkosh Corporation is also facing slowed production on its multi-billion dollar contract to build USPS delivery vehicles.

I guess this means the list is finally completed
Pay attention to how your manager is acting from now on. If he or she starts avoiding you or being excessively nice all of a sudden, you know what's coming.

CNBC / WSJ - 15k VZ layoffs happening next week.
CNBC just reported (per WSJ) that Verizon is expected to layoff 15,000 employees next week, making it its biggest layoff ever. It’s coming. Sigh.
Round 2 Next Week? Smh…
Word around town, next week is round 2.
Is there another round? When?
What is the percentage of layoff completed in this round? And is there another round coming?
Question 🙋
Is the layoff applicable to full time only or contractors are going to be impacted as well? Can organizations sacrifice contractors to meet the 15~20% target and reduce Opex pressure? My organization is loaded with contractors with only a handful of full time employees.
Employment reference letter after layoff

What would the White House say if Verizon
RIFed US workers before H1B visa holders? Shouldn't the H1B workers be RIFed before a US citizen?
November Layoffs
For the person that said Layoffs are coming Nov 17 & 18, I can confirm that this is real. I was accidentally copied on an email that I shouldn’t have been. I don’t know how they can layoff anymore people from that team because they already have a skeleton crew and if we’re supposedly in the cloud, wouldn’t you need engineers to make sure the customers products continue to work. It’s just in time before the All-Company Meeting. I’m sure SM will put on his sad face and pretend the layoffs break his heart. His song and dance is getting old. I pray for the best for those affected by the layoffs. May you find stable, healthy employment quickly.
FYI; Upcoming layoffs planned for November and January
Mid-November layoff is already on going at the moment. They are planning to have about 13-16 technician per manager.
This is a step closer to replacing all the blue badge techs with green badges.
Neuro RIF
Confirmed, Irvine just laid off 30+ workers in 1st and 2nd shift. Will be seeing more in the coming months when volumes get reduce. Management did not annouce ahead. Too bad for the people. Ofc management did not care.
New Layoff rounds started in EMEA
Couple of individuals were made redundant in the Czech Republic - most probably new rounds will start next week. Somebody was saying that there is an aim to reduce up to 10% of the workforce till the end of the year
Geico Insurance planned to layoff 20% in Jan.
Geico is reportedly planning to lay off around 20% of its workforce in January. According to employees, the company intends to label the affected group as “low performers,” with approximately 20% of employees in each department expected to be classified this way.
Layoffs?
When are they happening, best guesses?
Billions in Free Cash Flow but Still Doing Layoffs
The impending layoffs are about the same thing as it's always been about. Prioritizing PROFITS over people! This company is by no means struggling. Free cash flow for the nine months ended September 30, 2025 was $15.8 BILLION, an increase from $14.5 BILLION during the same period in 2024. This company is still making BILLIONS in profit. Where did the increase in revenue come from? Through price hikes and rising fees; and they wonder why churn is high?
There's a WSJ article where Dan is saying 'We'll hit AGI (human level intelligence) in the next 2-4 years'. He's a big proponent of pushing AI. Why?
Bc he is an investor in the AI field primarily as a Managing Partner at Valor Capital Group, which invests in various technology companies. Wall St and Silicon valley are obsessed with AI and they pushing it down our throats even though regular consumers are not asking for it. The demand for AI comes from the top down, not bottoms up.
Where is the HUMANITY in AI? What will happen to the PEOPLE after our jobs are replaced by AI? Seems like the Board has let the fox in to guard the hen house.

Got laid off today from Ansys
Ansys was a great company to work for. I didn't get that same impression from Synopsys, but I guess that comes with working for a much larger company.
It was a good 5 years.
Laid off
Just got laid off this morning out of the midland office. I felt so bad for the hr rep who called it was hard for her to tell me. But all is well holding my head up and ready for the next challenge. Got to comfortable at cop and was looking for something new anyway. Good luck to everyone else. Remember there is always something better for you.
Just got my notice….
Last day 12/31… anyone feel like this is pointing to something larger?
