Any piece of news on the room?
This was too sudden?
Or maybe it was being planned behind the scenes for a while.
Dan is temporarily for sure.
I thought the survey was supposed to come out today, am I mistaken?
Is it bleak across the board or are there pockets of good somewhere?
When's the next round coming? Have we heard anything yet?
I've been hearing rumors about more locations closing before the end of the year, can anybody confirm if this is true or not? If it's true, is there any way to know which ones are closing? I really can't be without a job right now so I need to start looking right away if we're part of this.
I was thinking about this recently, about how many people said they would walk away if RTO was implemented, but I don’t know a single person who actually did. Goes to show why companies get away with the things they do. Most people are strong on words, but never on action.
Is there even a small chance that this will be performance based? Or are they going to focus on numbers once again and lay off people who are higher earners?
How long are they going to keep us guessing? Until more of us decide we can’t take the uncertainty anymore and quit? It wouldn’t be the first time Exxon tried to force employees to leave by creating an environment that basically pushed people out. I don’t know if this is one of those cases, but I wouldn’t be surprised.
Curious which roles DID NOT recieve the dreaded severance estimate? Interested to get a feel for what was considered "out of scope". Don't have to get specific unless you feel comfortable doing so.
Anyone else debating if there are even actual "opportunities" and the "potential" is to ensure everyone stays to transition their work? Nothing would be surprising at this point.
Has anyone been reading the media articles bout the information sharing plan on our US Foods website and upcoming merger with PFG in the media? Will that cause layoffs? Will that be a chance for the powerful on the board of directors to select better executives? Some of our executives have sh-t the bed on some of their decisions and do not have the gonads to do what needs to be done. We do like our CEO and he has proven his worth on the stock. But some of his posse don't share his intelligence nor his heart. They may just not give a fu-k about what they need to do since they will be given a golden parachute when the merger arrives. Let's all hope the board reads these posts and proves what we are writing is true and just terminates the d-mbasses for dereliction of duty without the severance.
Ford work culture is decorated fully. All the high performing engineers are sidelined or made quit and ford management mostly promoting or favoring pets who are good at showcasing. I got few offers outside? This c×× nonsense is in big mess ? No way management is listening in anything. I want opnion other seniors who are at ford. I am at my mid level career now. Do you think it is high time to leave ford ? Or should wait things will change for good?
Will he “retire”?
Now has a LinkedIn and hasn’t had one before for 10 years.
This is a legitimate question. I think I know the answer, but I want to see if there’s anything I’m unaware of before making the obvious conclusion.
Layoffs in Europe I get. We probably won’t own any assets there for much longer anyways, and I’ll be surprised if the continent hasn’t regulated every bit of heavy industry out of business by 2030.
Singapore I get. It’s been a money pit. High cost energy plus the cost of importing all feeds and exporting all products does not make for good performance in a commodity sector.
I feel for all of my colleagues in these locations. It’s not your fault this is happening, but I can understand why the company would do this.
But why Canada?
A quick discussion with ChatGPT shows me Imperial made between $4.5-7.3 billion yearly since 2022. Yes, refining margins were pretty good over that period, but I don’t see anything in the top line numbers to suggest our Canadian business is in dire straits. So why are we laying off 20% of the company?
I don’t know what functions sit in Calgary. Tax? Engineering? The inescapable conclusion is we hit a critical mass of people at KLTC and BTC that we thought could do their jobs and decided to rip the bandaid off.
Assuming that’s true, why wouldn’t I expect the EXACT SAME thing to happen to the US in a couple years? Aside, of course, from our CEO telling us the US is off limits (lmao).
Heard there would be layoffs again in OCI in November:( To the folks who have been witnessing the November layoffs , do the let go of recently joined IC2s? Like 4 to 5 months in?
No end in sight !:(
When are the next business control layoffs?
This has to mean more layoffs are coming right?
Does anyone know if they’re doing it based on seniority, highest pay, department, etc?
Anyone know if some departments/entities are gonna be hit more than others?
How bad is going to get?
Oooof!
What an odd bunch of businesses….. lots of M&A activity in the feed industry; Cargill is completely absent; not surprising given performance in the past few years.
BioIndustrials continues “coasting”……..
Salt? Well; if we get a good winter is a good year
Any insights on who will be the first to be sold from that “portfolio “???
Can someone post Pay Ranges?
Guys when are we getting the next voluntary separation program? I just can’t take this anymore I need to leave but not without my Abfindung. Any alternatives?
Is it true starting in January and beyond; if a BOA wants to work at a branch the BOA needs the Series 7?
If so, is this a way for the firm to cut overhead at the branch level?
Anyone have an employment lawyer contact in Calgary who is not on retainer with IOL? Maybe we need to go outside Calgary? If you are a person who would like to leverage the guidance please respond.
People with vested Dell stocks, what are you thinking about the stocks? Good time to sell
Or wait it out until q1 next year!
Curious to know what other people got in the past, if they negotiated, and how that process went.
what does everyone think of this guy?
will he be able to get bP off its deathbed?
4 hr pto will be still considered as in office day ?
Joined 3 years ago. People tell me that prices go up and down, bo-m and bust cycles. That makes sense but it now feels that it'll never go up, almost like this is a systemic change. Not sure, it's just my gut feeling but I wanted to see if people with experience can chime in.
So it seems that the majority of folks are planning to fake mobility to see what they are offered, even if they have no intent to move. Is this the play? If I declare immediately I am not mobile, and seek immediate severance, will I be severed sooner than if I wait to see? I can't wait to GTFO.
Any updates on Ireland? What's going on?
Anyone know or hear who was impacted?
I commonly hear about people getting a voluntary severance package as opposed to laying people off. What incentives does that package include to get people to leave? Also what criteria do they use for offering one to employees. I’ve been here for nearly two decades and never received one.
Should we assume our amazing engineering group has saved the company?
