Does that mean we shouldn't worry about layoffs for a while?

Another week of nothing coming up
EL has no vision and no plans so we just sit idling with a failing brand.
In office mandate...
TRP is finally requiring groups that have been working fully remote to return to the office four days a week, bringing them in line with the rest of the workforce. For once, the company’s talk about treating employees equally appears to be reflected in its policy.
People are complaining too much
This is still one of the better places to work. Yes, there are issues, but some of you can't see the forest for the trees. With everything happening in the world, I'm willing to overlook a lot for good pay and benefits, and I still get that here.
Can somebody share what kind of severance was offered?
Is it the same like in the last round?
Remember when we were good?
When we made toys every kid wanted to have? When layoffs were not something we had to think about all the time? Can we go back to those times? I miss them.
Please let there be more layoffs
I'd give anything to be let go with severance. This is not the same company I joined (obviously) and I have no interest in staying here long-term anymore.
Final cut
Should happen any day now.
Who and how many?

Sea-change in the cellular industry
There’s been a sea-change in the cellular industry since the introduction of the iPhone. Years ago the industry was profitable and growing. Feature phones were roughly equivalent, cheap to make and none of the vendors had pricing power. If Motorola tried to overcharge, companies could strike a better deal with Samsung or any other competitor. The vendors and the employees benefited from this rising tide.
Fast forward to today and smartphones have impressive capabilities but are much more expensive and brand loyalty means companies like Apple have pricing power. At the same time the increase in data consumption has required much larger investments in cell sites and spectrum. As a result, service providers are squeezing their suppliers and their employees as hard as they can to remain profitable. Sure, Lowell, Hans, and company made huge mistakes but the overall change in the industry is equally important if not more so.
I don’t foresee an improvement in this trend and I think it’s no longer worth it for those of us who aren’t ED, VP, or CEO to remain in this industry.

The media company Forbes has announced staff reductions affecting a portion of its employees. These cuts are a direct response to revenue shortfalls experienced in the first half of the fiscal year. CEO Sherry Phillips stated that the company is reallocating resources to focus on high-growth areas. The exact number of employees impacted and specific departments affected were not disclosed. Affected staff members have reportedly been informed of the changes.

as Nike's sale and stock price goes down to bottomless pit
upper management has to be do many rounds of layoff because this company is over staffed with inept and useless people.
Why Nike lost 78% value
When you tie executive compensation to a goal like this, you get results that we have today.
2025 Targets - 50 percent representation of women in global corporate workforce and 45 percent in leadership positions.
Leaders hired on on basis of their gender are spread through the org from SLT to first level managers. The cancer has spread throughout the org. WON won, NKE lost.
We need large layoffs every year and need to hire back based on merit.
Fiserv stock is the worst nightmare
thought the company is turning the corner.
thought AgentOS and FiUSD are to come soon.
thought the message to the Street wa well-received.
then stock has given up another ~10% in the past week or so.
The most depressing company ever
You know you work for a bottom feeder when:
1) SVPs of finance confidently says we always go down x%/year (instead of a one-time restructure like a normal company to align capital allocation with market opportunity)
2) SVPs of Print still think they 'run the company' despite secular market decline
3) An interim CEO for 9mo+ and no permanent in sight

Will Plano HQ have lodging?
Will the new $1.3 billion campus have any lodging for those who have longer commutes. This would be great as it would provide an option to stay on campus during the week.
Office Quit Notice
So, since they “promoted” 75% of the bank with bestowing bank officer titles to almost everyone, they now require a 30 day resignation notice?
What happens if we DON’T give notice and just quit? Or are only able to give a two week notice?

LeBron and Mbappé signal demise of Nike
Just look how critical LeBron has been of Nike‘s innovation. Mbappé didn’t wait around. He peaced out. Others are going to do the same. We are now the next Under Armour. A future case study for decades to come on the collapse and failure of this company.
I used to be on board with no matter what tough times comes Nike‘s way that we will find a path to compete and overcome. That’s not the case anymore. We failed at our own Maxim of figuring out how to evolve immediately. We don’t know how to innovate. We don’t know how to inspire anymore. Everything they do is based on hope. Hope is not a plan or a strategy.
It’s unfortunate that Nike put themselves in this position when the Board of Directors hired JD. It only takes one mistake. Doubling down on that mistake compounds your problem.
Nike made a lot of people rich. Sent a lot of people into a comfortable retirement. Anybody with Nike stock will now have to work for many years to overcome the losses. This will also keep NIKE from attracting great talent, cause great talent to leave Nike, and continue the overall collapse of the brand.
I hate it because I’ve been a Nike fan all of my life. It has just become the inevitable fate. One that nobody wants to take responsibility for despite the obvious failures. Nike was never a tech company. Nike was a company by athletes for athletes.
Does anybody know what NIKE is anymore? No. That’s the problem and that’s what ki-led this great company.
…and with that, just like Shark Tank…I’m out
What happened to this company?
I keep hearing that “in the old days” it was not like this. It has me questioning whether this is the right company to grow my career with.
It seems like everything is a struggle these days.
I am interested to hear from those people who have worked here for a long time on what they feel has changed and more importantly if it can be fixed.
Maybe if someone up top is actually monitoring this site they will see what is being said. The fear is even if they do I have little confidence to believe they will make the change. Our company is run by people who are days away from retirement.
Access 401k
Does anyone know how do we access our 401k accounts from home? I plan on moving it next year once we get this year’s contributions but I like to check the balance every so often. I would like to figure out how now that my access is being shutoff in a few hours.
Call Center REPS firing
Normally, you do not see this in the Call center environment because of the natural turnover people eventually quit but this week they fired a bunch of people, including a supervisor. We were once great company when we were DST. It’s now a sh-t business that doesn’t care about it’s people

Confirmed: Kylian Mbappe leaves Nike after long-term relationship to join Swiss sportswear giant
Athletes are leaving now too!
https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/confirmed-kylian-mbappe-leaves-nike-125000863.html
Kylian Mbappe has ended his long-standing relationship with Nike and joined Swiss sportswear company On in a major move that will see the Real Madrid forward become the face of its expansion into football boots.
The Athletic has revealed that Mbappe agreed to join On after his Nike contract expired this summer.
The financial details remain undisclosed, but the deal includes an equity stake in the Swiss company, giving the 27-year-old an interest beyond a conventional sponsorship arrangement.
The move also sees Mbappe turn down established football boot rivals Adidas and Puma as On attempts to establish itself in a market dominated by the biggest names in sportswear
