Oh look, ANOTHER meeting BACKWARDS — I mean FRWD meeting

Another performative meeting. Same fake smiles, same empty hype. The opener must’ve said “I’m so excited” five times — and I couldn’t tell if he was convincing us or himself. These things are so staged it’s painful. Nothing real, nothing transparent... — read more

31 Denver Layoffs-Update

TIAA's loss is Empower's gain. TIAA filed letters to local and state officials last week under the federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, or WARN Act, saying its latest 31 job cuts in Denver will begin Dec. 1. The round of... — read more

Frisco Update

Cost of living is high and housing costs are higher. Compensation paid by TIAA is lower than average and drawing top talent is challenging. Doubling down and spending over $200M to relocate and draining down the surplus to hire 2,000 associates is... — read more

AARP enters the chat

Two former TIAA employees yesterday filed an amended complaint claiming the company violated the Employee Retirement Income Security Act by investing more than 28,000 plan participants’ retirement funds in a proprietary in-house fund that has failed... — read more

Elevate - success

I joined the Elevate kickoff today and I was so very much inspired. It appears executive leadership is embracing the importance of career development for all associates. I am very excited about this.

Speaking of Expenses

After the town hall last week in Charlotte, I walked outside and saw 6 different black SUV from a limo service...5 were Chevy/GMC...one was a Cadillac(I'll let you decide who had that one)...it's amazing the display of wasteful spending money on... — read more

Disappointed Priorities

It’s frustrating to know that management is now issuing verbal warnings for not being in the office three days a week, with a written warning issued after a second violation. At a time when we’re dealing with much bigger concerns, like the Denver... — read more

Next Denver Wave posted

CO warn notice had 84 in July1 and recently posted the October wave of 64 people so probably 20% of Denver staff this year pending the December wave. Seems the impact this year is going to be minimal compared to 2026 March and July where remaining... — read more

Tone def town hall

T leads off the town hall celebrating temporary employees (interns). Would be nice to maybe start with celebrating the full time employees. Next speaker, finance guy, immediately talking about a trip to Barbados. Wish I could afford a vacation to... — read more

In office hours being tracked

Someone commented in one of the earlier posts about how the company has been tracking hours in office… has anyone here heard of this and can confirm?

We need Positivity. I predict a COLA.

I’m taking a contrarian view and I think we see a COLA announcement. 5 days in the office doesn’t make sense when inflation has eaten wages and employees are running out of gas on their commute.

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT THURSDAY’S TOWNHALL

What has happened to one of the most ethical companies in America? Proudly working at TIAA is now a thing of the past. Buckle up, as you think last August was bad, you have not seen anything yet. More secrets and showstoppers are expected. Wait until... — read more

The company has lost its heart and soul

Seems like this place is nothing more than an AI buzzword and LinkedIn post factory. Seems like leadership forgot the mission of the company. I don’t see any work that actually drives forward the mission just Sastry parading about AI with our... — read more
