Forgive my ignorance, but this is my first layoff, so I’m not really sure what the procedure is. This is what I’ve gathered so far: We will receive the WFH email on Friday. Then on Monday morning, those being laid off will receive an email. Within... — read more
NIKE IS PLAYING PREVENT DEFENCE!!
any company in the world, after certain growth it becomes mature, lackadaisical, entitled, and full of you know what! That is where Nike is and stuck!! Unable to crawl out of sh4t pile that they slipped and fell. EH just joined Nike when they came... — read more
Next layoff will be the last straw for me
My group has been on the do more with less treadmill for two quarters. And it's not slowing down, it's speeding up. I've done a huge amount of work, delivered results, kept things running. But leadership doesn't support us. They never have. You can't... — read more
Boston marathon ad..
This is the kind of line Nike used to drop all the time and nobody really pushed back on it Not because it was safer back then but because the brand had enough weight that people read it as confidence instead of taking a shot at people That cushion... — read more
Tech Layoffs Rumors
They’ve been delayed to add more names to the list. But they’re ready to go now. Week of 4/27. Leaders have been asked to provide team productivity data. I heard 10% and 20%. Worst number was 40% (of PHK Tech, not Global), probably over... — read more
Does anything still motivate you to show up?
I struggle just to get myself in the door every day. It's only about the paycheck now, and even that can be gone next round.
All others welcome. Nile not even tolerated.
More ad campaigns with exclusionary b.s. Hot. Mess. Wow. Just ... WOW.
What's even the point?
Our group had an all-hands meeting recently where we spent 45 minutes witnessing managers patting themselves on the back and 5 minutes of dodging questions about backfilling roles, future layoffs or severance. So yeah, super useful and effective. I'm... — read more
Stock would FLY
Truly fascinating how some people are able to identify every problem in the company with surgical precision, yet somehow remain here…contributing to all of them. If we ever bottled the energy spent on complaining, predicting layoffs, and... — read more
Walkers tolerated ad
That ad speaks to what Nike is all about. The exclusive passes, the no other brands allowed, the egotistical ads. People are not buying the bullsh-t anymore. There’s simply a lot out there and nobody needs to be talked down to.
It’s us
TLDR: It’s not one problem. It’s a broken culture, recycled leadership, slow everything, and no real accountability. Nothing changes until the people at the top do. It’s the culture. It’s the nepotism. It’s the same insular leadership group playing... — read more

Does Nike follow the WARN Act?
“The WARN Act offers protection to workers, their families, and communities by requiring employers to give a 60-day notice to the affected employees and to both state and local representatives prior to a plant closing or mass layoff.” So far Nike... — read more
I've just been treading water since the announcement
What did they think would happen? That we'd go above and beyond for a job that might be gone in a month, or two, or three? We still don't even know when the layoffs are actually coming.
Embarrassing
Nike stock up 40 cents today. Adidas stock up over 3 dollars today. Every leader should be embarrassed as they take months to fumble another layoff execution. Fing ridiculous….. Tech is a joke. 3soles not cutting it….
Has the Era of the Mega - Lay off Arrived
Just read WSJ article 04.15 by Chip Cutter. Y’all should be happy if you still have a job; especially in tech.
What’s the strategy?
Serious question .. what is the point of announcing layoffs being silent for months and tepeating this a few times a year so people are terrified all the time and productivity falls? I understand need to cut costs but the way we do it makes no sense
Two Week Notice When Resigning?
Is this a requirement. I have a horrible manager, she's been pure evil since day one. I've had it and I want to quit. I know she'll want me to transition mountains of work I am doing for her but I'd be delighted if I can just leave. There is... — read more
Any updates on Tech cuts?
Next week or the week after? Anyone have credible info? I thought next week was unlikely given all the planned events, but now I'm hearing they might happen anyway.
Tech
Kind of eerie how slack has gone silent, meetings are canceling, parking lot is sparse and there is no work going on. I would think it wasn’t a great idea for the new tech leaders to announce layoffs 2 months ago with no timeframe or updates since... — read more
Sharing a perspective on where Nike could refocus for growth.
TL;DR : Nike needs to make more desirable products again and get them in front of more people by focusing on a few big hits and not over-relying on its own stores. Nike should prioritize restoring brand heat and product distinctiveness while... — read more

PTO if you're impacted
Question for those who were impacted during prior layoff cycles: During the 2 months you remain an employee, do you continue to accrue PTO as you normally would? Or do they lock in your PTO balance when you're notified?

Volunteer for Layoff

We're living through systemic failures without even realizing it
Teams have been gutted, some repeatedly, by layoffs and reorgs that solve nothing. Yes, talent is expensive. But when you're too lazy to cut strategically and just go for the simplest savings, you shed the people you actually need. Meanwhile, the... — read more
Is PHK dedication delay leading to something?
Did it all get pushed back to accommodate for layoffs and WFH weeks?
Productivity growth
Is a reduction of workforce at Nike a bad thing? Revenue growth will come from productivity growth. More efficient teams. Motivated teams. AI. A reduction is not a bad if done right. And, to what I can see, 90% of the time, the right choices are... — read more
What’s the definition of nepotism?

It's not just morale that hurts productivity
Long-term projects are impossible to justify in this environment. Tons of Q4 work getting backlogged because the reorg is taking too long and we don't know if we'll have capacity to cover it.

Hiring Freeze?
I was hearing that there was a hire freeze with no timetable of when things will open back up. The agency that hired told me that full time positions are hold but I'm seeing jobs still being posted on Linkedin.
