Is there an hr for speak up?

If you go to speak up for ethical misconduct by a cabal of leadership reinforced by HR and Speak Up covers is up, what is the next move? Email Farley’s CDSID? Looking for answers. Every time we have holidays I seem to get punished for enjoying time off so I know the worst is yet to come.

Honestly, I'm grateful to work here

I've worked at a few other banks, and I have to say, this is the best place I've been. It's not perfect, there are real issues, but it's a good job compared to many others. That's exactly why I worry so much about layoffs. I don't want to lose this spot, and I'm truly thankful I still have it.

Change how you think about job searching

I stopped obsessing over salary and focused on finding something that actually interested me and let me grow my skills. Starting over isn’t easy, and I knew that going in, but the constant stress disappeared almost immediately. I’m learning new things, branching out in my field, and not dreading every workday. That alone has made the move worth it. It’s been a real breath of fresh air.

What planet are you guys on?

Way too many woe is me post, I never saw it coming posts and how can they do this posts.

What world do you live in where a company has your best interest at heart?
Let’s level set. Citi has never cared about their employees, its all about the bucks.
Citi never takes into account your feelings on no promotions, no raises, no bonus’s or layoffs. It’s about the number and perception. How does it look to the shareholders is all that matters.

Quit acting all shocked and surprised if you get the axe. Always assume that you WILL be let go, its just a matter of time. This puts things into perspective and helps you prepare.
It’s just a job guys. Its not a religion. Its unwise to bank (play on words) your whole future on always working here forever or I’ll always be getting a raise. Just remember, they could care less about you. You are a commodity, an asset to be used and discarded at will. By Citi’s own actions, you’d think you’d have caught on by now and have realized this.

"H-1B visa applicants" face more disruptions amid social media checks and wage protection rules

A.) The U.S. has started conducting online presence reviews of all H-1B and H-4 visa applicants in a bid to curb what it refers to as the “abuse” of the program.

B.) The wage protection law proposed by the Department of Labor last week could dissuade companies from sponsoring H-1B visas.

C.) Any changes to the H-1B rules will likely disproportionately hurt Indians, as they make up more than 70% of the recipients in recent years.

Christmas Eve hours

The branches close at 2pm on the 24th but our dept is staying open until 5. To make matters worse they said we couldn’t work from home that day and had to report to the office. I’m just curious if this is just our dept or are all internal depts working all day on the 24th?

India Contractors Won’t Work Past 10a cst!

In addition to ongoing engineering performance challenges, a lack of transparency around progress, and significant network and connectivity problems, we are now encountering scheduling issues with India-based engineers. Several have declined to attend meetings scheduled after 10:00 a.m. Central Time, citing the late hour on their end. In some cases, there is resistance to meetings held after 8:30 p.m. local time, which would require U.S.-based staff to substantially alter their work schedules by starting meetings as early as 6:00 or 7:00 a.m, a practice that falls outside standard industry norms. These scheduling disputes are repeatedly raised while the engineer declines to attend meetings or take on work, leaving the engineering lead and offshore vendor to sort through the issue. This pattern can persist for weeks, during which the offshore engineer continues to submit and receive approval for full 40-hour weekly timesheets. This outcome reflects the risks associated with outsourcing while eliminating experienced in-house talent.

Happy Holidays

Dear Team,

As we gather with our families this holiday season – or, more accurately, as those of you within 50 miles of an office get your butts back in here to maximize collaboration and real estate utilization – I want to extend my warmest wishes for a prosperous and metrics-driven New Year.

The winter holidays remind us of timeless values: giving (of your maximum effort), receiving (higher margins for shareholders), peace (on earth, as long as your business unit stays well above the Line of Doom), joy (in hitting quota, even if it means public call-outs in all-hands), and goodwill toward all men (provided they contribute tangible value and don’t just “make air” like those software folks).
Remember the miracle of the season: just as one small acquisition can multiply into trillions in market cap through ruthless simplification, your continued sacrifice of work-life balance turns our portfolio into evergreen revenue streams.

Family time is wonderful, but nothing says “holiday cheer” like knowing your RSUs are vesting while underperforming divisions get divested faster than you can say “perpetual licenses are dead.”

To those celebrating Christmas: may your stockings be stuffed with stock options – contingent, of course, on office attendance thresholds.

To those observing Hanukkah: eight crazy nights of efficiency gains.

To everyone else: focus on what really matters – Q1 targets.

Thank you for your obedience dedication.

Let’s make 2026 another record year of cost-cutting and shareholder delight.

Happy Holidays,

Hock Tan
President & CEO, Broadcom

Invited to travel out of state for a job interview. Will my boss fire me if they find out?

I work in downstream engineering. The company Im interviewing with is in commodities trading. I’m not positive if I want this potential job or not, but I do want to do the interview and evaluate the potential offer. But for some reason I have this nagging that Exxon will fire me for looking at other jobs. Is that true or am I just being anxious?

Is anyone actually willing to relocate?

Relocation is insanely costly these days, and the chances of keeping your job after uprooting yourself and your family are extremely low. It’s just another attrition tactic. Refusing to relocate plays into leadership’s hands, but going along with it is even more senseless.

Be nice to yourself during the holidays

Treat yourself to something you truly enjoy, cherish time with family and friends, and do everything you can to forget about work for a day or two. It does wonders to not let this place monopolize your time and mind. It’s not worth it. We can’t control what’s coming next, and more often than not, things sort themselves out with a bit of luck and effort.

Treat your job as a lease.

Treat your job as a lease, not a mortgage nothing is guaranteed. You’re given a space to contribute, and in return, you receive compensation. I’ve been there nearly 30 years, and that’s how I’ve always approached my role. This mindset helps you keep your sanity, and when you’re no longer needed, you can pack up, move on, and find something new and challenging.

I intend to enjoy the holidays

For once, I’ll treat myself to complete detachment from work. I’m not going to think about it, I’m not going to get anxious about what might happen next, and I’m definitely not going to get wrapped up in the idea of possibly losing my job. I’ll spend some quality time with family and friends, watch a good movie, or read a book. This whole drama be damned. My reserves are at zero, and I’m just going to be good to myself.

I’m free

I feel relieved. Last night I had a lot of beverages, been years since I could drink as I was the only one on call for over a year. Wife and I laughed a lot.

I have a traeger I’ve never used that I’m breaking in today.

Thank you Dan. I don’t realize how much life I was missing. To the others, try out this crown royal blackberry!

Regarding RTO

I keep seeing people say “we are returning to working in the office because that’s how it always was”

Quick question - who had issues finding assigned seating, food, and stocked bathrooms with good toilet paper before covid?

Answer - nobody. Because RTO is not a return to how it was. It is way greedier and designed to be humiliating on purpose. Quit licking boots and be honest.

2026

2026 is my year.

After years of tireless devotion, my boss has graciously informed me that all my sacrifices may finally be recognized. You know, the late nights, the early mornings, the thrilling experience of being perpetually on call regardless of day, time, or basic human decency. The way I consistently put Truist first, always ahead of my family, my health, and any lingering sense of self-worth.

I never once let something as trivial as time off interfere with productivity. Not even when my mother died this year. Thankfully, modern technology allowed me to stream the service online, so there was really no excuse to disrupt deliverables. Efficiency matters.

And now, at long last, the payoff is in sight. I’ve been told I should be an AVP by the end of Q1!

PIP = Paid Interview Process/Plan

After the several rounds of layoffs and Intel using performance management to reach their final HC:

If you get put on a PIP, consider it a paid interview process… don’t even bother with burning yourself out at a company who is trying to wear out good employees.

Company Hours and OT?

Does anyone know when we are closed the next two weeks? If we are being asked to work do we get overtime pay or 2x for a holiday week? I asked my manager but didn’t get any response. I want to work OT as I could use the extra cash and it seems like this would be double pay. Can anyone tell me what the policy is?

Digital Tech and Wire Tech Merge Starting

Looks like next year will kick off with the merging of BFS into AFO. This is aligning with the one title tech as mapped out earlier. As a previous DT I hate to hear this because AFO does not treat people well. If I was a DT still I would move to construction asap. Otherwise be prepared for a lot of residential work and a whole new set of guidelines you will NOT like.

Stuck between hating the job and needing it badly

Judging from my immediate surroundings, most people feel the same way. Fear makes us all trip over ourselves to perform, as if that’s somehow going to save our jobs. It’s a frigging trap. Every time I lost a job before, I regretted wasting so much energy trying to prove myself. And here I am, doing the same stupid thing all over again.

Why do store managers and/or HR need to be in store at 6am

Why are store managers and/or H.R. need to be in the store at 6am if they are not picking, packing, or on a call?

Shouldn’t H.R. and the store manager be in store when the majority of associates are actually working ? It makes no sense for an H.R. or store manager to leave the store by 2 or 3.

You are not really free

All of the boomers on here will tell you that you are fortunate and should be grateful for the opportunity you have to work for a company, blah...blah. The reality is that none of us matter to any company, and none of us have ever mattered. The entire system is built to keep us indebted to, and dependent on, corporations. I consider myself politically very conservative, and I am not afraid to admit this. America was sold out long ago. We haven't had a true free market economy for at least 50 years or more. Everything that is done now is done to enrich corporations and political leaders. Banks and financial companies are some of the worst exploiters of the American people in existence. As long as we are indebted just to live, we can't ever be truly free.
