Is now laid off. Directs were stripped a few weeks ago. Did not see it coming. At all.

Are US Layoffs Over For Now?
I'm curious if US layoffs are still ongoing this week but at a smaller scale than they were on Monday. I ask cause I know people who got RSU vesting notices for the 15th 3 days before vesting, but have not gotten notices for other upcoming RSU vesting dates. Makes me wonder if that is an indicator of further layoffs?
Mexico operations - kick out DFS employees
COF Mexico City Tech Hub / Capital One Technology Labs Mexico. Capital One-owned operations .. setting up new tech teams over there And kicking DFS employees out !! No mercy on DFS employees. And new vendors in place soon .. kicking out Cognizant, Capgemini vendors
What's next?
So what's the road map after Lumen is done laying off and restructuring the company? I'm just an IR guy and I'm not sure if I should make a dash to the fiber splicing teams and learn that - or just exit telecom all together. It seems like every week my coworkers are waiting for their name to be called for a layoff.

You may be granted focal - but might not get it
I had an eccentric manager who was brutally honest and upfront in individual syncs. Manager was impacted yesterday. I see the focal posts, dropping what was told to me by my manager - I will fight to get you focal + RSU if you perform, but, understand Oracle is using the bad job market and AI hype to take advantage (no raises to base pay) and they use the RSU as a carrot to make you work but you might not be employed to get it - so don't work extra, do the best in your normal hours. Remote employees on our team got 3 days notice and lost RSUs. So don't work to hard, work smart and look to exit this company. USA where employees don't have good protection like our European and Asian colleagues.
Another layoff coming
potentially october - across all regions.
Arbroath redundancies
Have started.
Only the tip of the iceberg
Ding Do-g, the Exec is gone!
Scene: Doors of the Canonsburg office swing open. Three members of the Lollipop Guild emerge, wearing matching puffy vests, untarnished hard hats, purple sneakers, and holding enormous lollipops. Behind them, a banner reads: "Congratulations on your retirement! Please don't come back."
Lollipop Guild member #1:
"Yinz gather 'round. The day we dreamed of has arrived!"
Lollipop Guild member #2:
"Wake up, you sleepyheads, get out of bed! The nightmare of meetings and micromanagement is dead! "
Lollipop Guild member #3:
"No more surprise calls at half past three! No more, 'Let's circle back' endlessly! No more impossible deadlines to meet! No more getting tossed under the bus in the street!"
Lollipop Guild member #1:
"They would ask a bunch questions and change plans on Friday after four, then ask why the numbers weren't better than before!"
Lollipop Guild member #2:
"To your face, they would treat you like family with a smile so sweet, then cut three departments before we could eat"
All in song:
"Ding do-g, the exec is gone!"
Layoffs Hit GBS at Coral
I'm one of the folks who will lose their job in 90 days. I'm in Merchant Solutions in Credit Risk. Bunch of folks got hit in Risk Monitoring, Underwriting and HRHV.
We got asked to be in a meeting at 3pm with Tony O (he's below Lyndon). We were told that our jobs are being transferred to offshore because of a) want 18 hours of coverage and b) for lower pay. We're losing our jobs to to India. What bullsh-t.
We are getting severance, however they had the audacity to tell us that we cannot use too much PTO or our 15 days of WFH. I asked if we're getting unused PTO in our severance and was told "it's on a case by case basis"
Who else is impacted today?
WFC interest margin improves.
- Wells Fargo & Co. Chief Financial Officer Michael Santomassimo said that the lender’s net interest margin is expected to be better than initially expected.
Coming into the quarter, Santomassimo said executives thought the margin would be down three or four basis points. Now, the measure is likely to be down one basis point or potentially even flat, he said Tuesday at a Barclays Plc conference.*

... but we will still ✂️ people to improve our efficiency ratio. The target is below 60% for the full year.
Blind Layoffs
Oracle has conducted consecutive layoffs blindly for stabilizing itself against the blind decision it took for AI data center. The severance, health benefits offered to laidoff candidates are very below to industry standards just covering the basics.
With Oracle resume its getting hard to search jobs in current market. The first question you get is are you impacted. once I said yes, they don't even think how skilled I am to come out but just treated me so negatively.
It hurts. I am marching forward taking it easy.
But its NOT OK. the health care support from Oracle is bad, salary is bad, severence is bad. its too much to tolerate.
Laid Off and AIM Covered Employee
If you were laid off and are a private side employee, how can you submit pre clearance requests for selling stocks? My access will be shutdown after Friday. I know others have brought this up before on here so don’t need to hear cr-p about posting a topic again. There are too many posts and didnt see any when I scrolled.
I don’t want to lose my severance because I didn’t follow protocol. Not sure if that they would hold it back but I can’t afford to give up that money.

Di-k's Sporting Goods Golf Division Faces Major Restructuring
Di-k's Sporting Goods is significantly scaling back its golf business. The company recently laid off over 500 PGA professionals and is now considering closing a substantial number of its Golf Galaxy stores. This move comes as Golf Galaxy's same-store sales have seen a significant decline. The restructuring has resulted in a considerable financial charge for the company in the last quarter. These changes are attributed to current and anticipated trends within the golf industry.

Fable Team Safe From Xbox Layoffs
The director of the upcoming Fable game has stated that the development team has been protected from recent layoffs. This protection is attributed to the Fable intellectual property's significant value to the Xbox brand. The game has been in development for nearly a decade, with its importance to Xbox's identity cited as a key factor in its survival. The success of Playground Games' Forza Horizon series also likely contributed to the team's job security. This indicates that Fable is considered a vital project for Xbox's future.

Entain Slashes Customer Care Roles Amid Tax Concerns
Entain, the parent company of Ladbrokes and Coral, is implementing significant job cuts in its customer care division. Approximately 400 positions worldwide will be eliminated, representing 20% of the customer care team. This decision stems from increased UK gambling taxes and the potential for further tax hikes. The company warns that additional tax burdens could lead to more job losses across its operations.

Injured Workers Protest WSIB Staff Cuts
Injured workers are protesting the closure of WSIB offices and the layoff of 460 staff across Northern Ontario. The Thunder Bay and District Injured Workers Support Group is demanding an immediate halt to these changes. They argue that these closures will create barriers for injured workers and eliminate crucial local knowledge. The group also expressed concern about the WSIB's unclear plans for AI implementation. Local political representatives have voiced opposition to the layoffs, emphasizing the need for more WSIB staff, not fewer.

Build a Rocket Boy Faces New Layoffs
Scottish game studio Build a Rocket Boy has reportedly undergone another round of job cuts. This follows the poor reception of their action-adventure game, MindsEye, which launched with numerous issues. The studio previously laid off a significant number of developers after the game's release. Despite these challenges, the company has continued to update MindsEye and even offered a free trial. The extent of the latest redundancies remains unclear.

Disney Stock Buyback Amidst Workforce Reductions
The entertainment giant is repurchasing $8 billion in stock while simultaneously implementing layoffs and stricter office policies. Recent workforce reductions have impacted various divisions, including marketing, ESPN, National Geographic, and Pixar. These cuts follow earlier layoffs and a pullback on remote work flexibility. The company is also offering early retirement buyouts to executives, signaling potential further job eliminations. This strategy contrasts with the company's historical reputation for employee loyalty.

Humana - on Firm Ground or Sinking Sand?
I logically guesstimate that at least 30% of Humana’s profit margin today relies on cheaper non-citizen labor (e.g., H-1B Visas, Vendor Contracts that use H-1B Visas, Offshoring) and the hype to investors as to what AI (artificial intelligence) will bring about in the near future.
All it would take is for just two things to occur, perhaps coupled with one or two other coinciding events, to seriously ruin this corporation.
1) If H-1B Visas were to be sent packing and Vendors (heavily employed H-1B Visas) that Humana contracts with were to be highly scrutinized by federal government and brought to a halt.
2) AI (artificial intelligence) to be heavily regulated by the government and brought to a snail’s pace.
Executive leadership most likely will not admit it to you nor will SVPs, VPs, Directors, and Associate Directors as they have to “toe the line” and keep up the facade that “we are some big super power that nothing can stand in our way!” Pride goes before the Fall! Just a matter of time.

COBRA: Revised Subsidy Agreement
Just disconnected from speaking with an Optum Financial call rep after receiving a letter from them that outlines premiums greater than what was agreed upon with Centene in the VSP separation agreement. The Optum Financial rep informed me they received a PSA notice internally from Centene that acknowledged Centene sent incorrect information to Optum in order to begin administering our COBRA benefits. Optum had no record of my 10 months COBRA Premium subsidy as promised by Centene. The agent further informed me the internal PSA notice they received states Centene was slated to mail out corrected forms to terminated employees 9/14 (2 days ago). Per the agent, it was advised for me to wait to enroll in COBRA until they had corrected agreement information from Centene. Great job, Centene. Here comes a potential lapse in coverage since last day of coverage is end of Sept. Optum said they are not retroing the effective date to 10/1.

Layoffs today 9/16/2026
It's fuzzy... It looks like this is a bigger layoff hit that's being coordinated across multiple locations and groups.... NYC, Tampa & Florence, KY... tech, COO- teams, fixed-income/trading... no clear headcount... unsure on other groups too. it's fuzzy and awkward but it seems to be fairly big?
