If you’re still employed, try to get union. People should feel secure about their job and not stress about if they’ll have a job the following week, or month. This isn’t the end of the layoffs. Get some protection. The unions are there for a reason.

For those of us whose official separation date was November 14, when can we expect to see our severance payment?

I’m curious , because I have heard of really smart people being let go in engineering and then some that’s been here 20 + years and then some who were just hired 3 or less years ago. Did managers have a say or were we really selected by someone who doesn’t have a clue who we are ?

I still cant access the portal, can anyone tell me what to expect?

None of it makes sense. I lost several exceptional people from my team. It feels like the decisions were made strictly by the numbers, and because of that we’ve let go of some truly valuable talent. How is that supposed to work long-term?

I was affected by the recent CMP layoff and have until Dec 15 to secure a new role within the company. I applied for a couple of positions already. What are my chances of getting an interview or being hired since I was part of the layoff?

The part about being laid off is knowing Verizon is still hiring. It feel like a huge betrayal. Many jobs could have been saved if things were REALLY BEING LOOKED AT!

I just got a job offer at a company that is actually growing. I’m taking -30k pay cut but it’s better than unemployment.

I am also being assessed for MS and the doom and gloom was contributing to my ms attacks.

If you get a chance to get out, please do it!! It’s not worth your health and sooner or later you will have symptoms.

They’re not real contributors to the workforce. They bring nothing to the company, and the only reason they’re still around is the cheap internal politics backed by upper management like Kalyani, Senthil, and Vivek. It’s embarrassing that they’ve managed to survive. All due to Shankar & Co .

Most of operations from Carlsbad will be laid off between January and April of 2026. Carlsbad will be transitioning to an R&D hub only. Production will be done overseas “close to the customer”.

AD and SD called, 6 years with VZ. Was recently moved to a new group and was working with senior engineers. Promoted very early on in my tenure, great performance reviews. Didn’t matter they basically said my functions can be done by people in India. Kind of liberating but disappointing at the same time. I just had my first child 6 months ago. I don’t blame current leadership although he was on the board. The stock price su-ked for a decade under Hans, but all we heard was glowing results.

Verizon Connect laid off parts of the org today. If you are with Verizon Connect in any of the locations, chime in.

This is absolutely brutal. It will take quite a while to get used to the "new" Verizon.

I am hearing that up to 20 % on the union workforce will be layed off next . (Workers hired after 8 of 2003 ) Any thoughts or facts on this ?

I don’t understand this! Whats all this fuss about layoffs happening? There has been no such indication about layoffs. I’ve seen newly hired college grads in BH recently. They are already cutting costs by hiring them (affordable resource)instead of laying off experienced ones.
Its thanksgiving! People have families and don’t want to live in the state of constant fear.

Tldr: No layoffs hinted or happening in BH and let ppl live peacefully!
