I just was offered a telecommuter position in Minnesota. I was wondering if anyone know if there are plans to expand the RTO radius?

And more layoffs coming
More and more layoffs. Not a well-run facility and not a good place to work.
When management mismanages money employees must be eliminated.
130,000 jobs added in January, Health care accounted for more than 60%, but Cigna laid off 2000!
What’s wrong with Cigna? Against the trend?
Cigna laid off 2000 employees while other health care organizations added 82k jobs!
130,000 jobs added in January !
The January numbers came in stronger than the 75,000 economists had expected. Health care accounted for nearly 82,000, or more than 60%, of last month's new jobs.

Conviva/Centerwell lay offs
Well right before the centerwell town call meeting, Conviva/centerwell staff was laid off. Thats SW, CHWs, RNs and Managers. All CIT staff.
Hennepin Layoffs
I just received a message from my amazing physician 2/7/26, that she is leaving Hennepin Health. My family is heartbroken. She was the best doctor all of us have ever seen. She listened, respected, was compassionate and always made time for us. Even the specialists we saw were amazing. We were at Whittier Clinic in the wonderful integrative health care clinic, which is being permanently closed at Whittier. Our community here in So Mpls is losing so much, in terms of medical accessibility and local businesses. Our community is already a food desert as well.
South Minneapolis is such a special place and my family has been here for four generations, since the redlining and covenants existed, which is why my grandparents could only live in this community.
I cant believe how much fraud and mismanagement has destroyed this community specifically (district 5), the city and the state. So many Americans are suffering under the impending economic collapse here and all anyone seems to care about are immigrants rights, as if no American citizens are also facing food, housing, medical and resource shortages and insecurities. We should be united and protesting this fraud! But no, the insanity and violence of these protestors and agigtators has negatively impacted our community and taken all of the attention away from the larger problem of state-wide fraud that hurts us all. What a shame.
Gainwell sc--wup kicks kids off healthcare
Take a look at this announcement from Georgia Health. What will it take for somebody to come down hard on this fraudulent operation?
https://dch.georgia.gov/announcement/2026-02-05/important-update-about-medicaid-and-pck-2
Are you or know someone terminally Ill needs a fortune for Surgery?
Relocate to Hawaii, all of your medical expenses are covered there, 0 premiums in most cases. You're welcome.
Hazel Health Cuts 135 Employees
The K-12 health care startup Hazel Health has laid off 135 people, about half of whom are clinicians. This is the second round of layoffs announced at the company in the past four months.

Emisar and GPO question
I see the recent legislature will exempt or at least require GPO transparency, but I have no idea what that means for OptumRx. Does anyone have an estimate of how much $ Emisar captures for us? I realize this is probably known by only a few, very select employees and probably not casual readers of this site, nor something they would share openly. So I’m asking this group - any idea how much revenue Emisar pulls? When/if that company gets eliminated, how will the flat rate policy instructed in the legislation impact our revenue? I also realize that this is almost 2 years away, but wondering if layoffs will begin to wind down operations long before then.
Aetna Cuts Over 300 Connecticut Positions
Aetna, a CVS Health company, announced layoffs affecting 313 employees. These job cuts impact its Hartford, Connecticut office. The company cited operational changes in its Small Group business segment. Employee separations will occur between April 3 and July 31, 2026. This action is part of a larger cost-cutting and restructuring initiative.

Washington State Hospitalist contract ended
This is a very large hospital within Washington State. This will significantly affect our ability to get procedures that are not available within Optum or not available due to staffing completed.

Evernorth Health Services Jobs - US/Worldwide
Evernorth Health Services jobs posted on LinkedIn, United States has 72 jobs, India has 182 jobs, and worldwide has 254 jobs. India takes over 70% of jobs. Undeniably, Evernorth Health Services is an India company that provides healthcare services for USA market. In coming days it might spinoff from Cigna, and pay a few remaining US workers in rupees.
Centene earning report
Centene posted a $6.7 billion in losses across 2025, 1.1 billion dollan loss in Q4
for contect they made 3.3 billion profit in 2024

Clinicians…how do you reconcile working here?
Physicians, social workers, counselors, nurses….how do you do it? I’m not talking about finance, IT, or those departments. Just the member interacting employees. You can perform whatever mental gymnastics you want to make you sleep better at night, but you’re really just gatekeeping healthcare on behalf of a company who’s primary responsibility is to maximize financial gain for its shareholders. Doesn’t seem quite in the spirit of the Hippocratic Oath the Nightingale Pledge. It definitely wasn’t for me.
$1,090,000 of CENTENE CORPORATION lobbying disclosed from Q4 of 2025.
Do we think the government has “the people’s” interest in mind? On a side note, below is a partial list of politicians transactions of just Centene stock last year alone. Interesting how they all seem shocked at the actions of health insurance company’s yet they all have skin-in-the-game of this money generating racket.

Denials:
What they don’t tell the providers who use their products - is they escalate as much as they can for medical review due to their escalation list and even if it meets IQ criteria - well we know what happens than. InterQual Auth Accelerator pairs Optum’s InterQual clinical criteria with AI to digitize payer rules, extract relevant clinical information from provider records and bring it to human reviewers. Most payers using the accelerator are starting with an augmented workflow, where AI organizes and presents information but a human reviewer still makes the determination, rather than fully automated approvals.
“We do not and will not automate denials,” Dr. Kontor said. “This is only accelerating reviews and automating approvals.”
Pet Health Care question
So… can I get pet health care added to my to Cobra?
Optum lay offs
Does anyone know how long severance pay is? As a UM nurse we have hardly had any cases come through for all markets for over a month now. They said some members may be moved to the California team but they have not asked anyone to apply for CA license.
Unionize in Home & Community / navihealth /Optum
Many nurses and therapists working in Home and Community care have seen their roles change significantly over the past several years, especially since the buy out of naviHealth within care coordination roles - consisting of OTs/PTs/SLPs/RNs. Productivity goals have increased to a point that is unattainable due to increased demands/goals/administrative tasks within paid working hours.
At the same time, raises have failed to keep pace with inflation, effectively reducing real wages despite growing workloads and responsibilities. Raises have fallen well behind inflation, effectively resulting in pay cuts for experienced clinicians who are carrying heavier caseloads and greater responsibility than ever before. For a workforce that is highly trained, licensed, and essential to patient outcomes, this trend is deeply concerning. These challenges are not isolated—they are systemic. Raises are consistently 1-2%, with 2% being a rarity.
These issues are not isolated to individual teams or regions. When issues are systemic, individual advocacy has limits.
This raises an important question: Is it time for nurses and therapists in the Home and Community line of business to unionize? And if so, has anyone considered leading this effort?
The Joke that is our inept leadership
To be honest it’s a shame how our leadership is approaching AI. AI truly has the capacity to make healthcare better but leadership just uses it as an excuse to nickel and dime employees. We are constantly forced to justify ourselves as to why something can’t be done with AI. As such there is zero real enthusiasm around AI and there is no real incentive to actually use it as you are just taking on more responsibilities without any compensation. How about instead of using ai as an excuse to layoff 20% of the company, we take care of our own and reward people for being more productive with AI. Nobody in leadership at this company actually knows how to lead
and they are completely lacking in the qualities that make a leader.

SHARKS
The health insurance business is a mess, and no health-insurance company is a bigger mess than UnitedHealth Group
UNH
- 1.61%
. But with its shares down 17% this week, much of that mess may now be reflected in the stock price.
The bad news started on Monday, when the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, or CMS, proposed that the net price increase for Medical Advantage insurance premiums should be 0.09% in 2027, well below the 5% many had expected. That would be a big hit to future.
This is what peoples health has been reduced to. A bunch of Wall Street brokers who circle in anticipation of how much money they can extract from federal and state programs, unsuspecting employers etc.
Shout out to House Calls Dept
I just want to say how awesome and well needed housecalls department is. I had a call for a patient today and you guys are so organized and on top of things and such an important asset to this company!

Valley Medical Group Cuts 41 Jobs Amid Financial Strain
Valley Medical Group laid off 41 employees. The multi-specialty group cited years of financial strain. This reduction represents 10% of its 400-person workforce, but all four health centers will remain open. Inflation, decreased Medicaid funding, and rising insurance costs contributed to the decision. The group plans to use technology and a new partnership to regain financial stability.

Access East Announces Layoffs Due to State Funding Shift
Greenville, North Carolina, January 2026:
Access East, a Greenville-based healthcare non-profit, is laying off employees. Thirty-one positions will be cut starting March 31st. This reduction stems from a shift in state funding. North Carolina’s "Healthy Opportunities Pilot" program lost government support last June. Access East coordinates care for Medicaid recipients and the uninsured in Eastern North Carolina.

UnitedHealth forecasts loss of nearly 1M employer plan enrollees amid price hikes

Hennepin Healthcare Cuts (Jan 2026)
Hennepin Healthcare announced it will lay off about 100 employees and close or scale back several services as its financial crisis deepens. Leaders at Hennepin Healthcare said the publicly funded hospital is operating so far in the red that it needed a county line of credit to cover January payroll and must find at least $50 million in savings by the end of March.
The cuts include closing chiropractic, acupuncture, and sleep clinics, reducing stand-alone weight management services, transitioning senior and extended care to other systems, and shifting some pain management to primary care or outside providers. Officials cited fewer patients and sharp reductions in Medicaid reimbursements as key drivers of the crisis. While core services like trauma and burn care will be preserved, administrators warned this is likely the first of several difficult decisions ahead.
Houcardilab is run by Clowns!
IMO - Optum should completely overhaul and replace the incompetent and absent middle management from all the inherited poor performing Kelsey-Seybold Clinics within Houston Metropolitan area. Most of these pseudo leaders were promoted by their sleezy, biased, discriminatory, and undeserving Grandfathered department chairs. Supervisors and team leads nearly out number the true blue collar employees.

Teton Valley Health Care Cuts Staff, Closes Infusion Clinic (Driggs, Idaho)
Teton Valley Health Care laid off 26 employees and will close its infusion clinic. The critical access hospital faces significant financial losses due to Medicaid cuts and reduced patient volumes. The infusion clinic provides vital, often life-saving, care for many patients. High-cost medications are not reimbursed for 12 months, creating cash flow problems. TVHC is actively seeking long-term solutions, including potential partnerships with larger health systems.

Nurse licensure violations
On November 17th nurses were told by upper management that we could work outside our state license and no longer had to adhere to licensure requirements.
Then on 12/9/2025 those directions were retracted and told to work only in states we are licensed in. How scary that a company cares less about the nurses and our licenses which is our livelihood!
Boston Health Care for Homeless
Stan McLaren, CEO of Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program, resigned in mid-December. His departure followed internal dissent over staff layoffs and mission concerns. The nonprofit laid off 25 people and closed a 20-bed medical respite facility. These actions were taken as the organization faces significant Medicaid funding cuts. Dr. Denise De Las Nueces, the chief medical officer, is now serving as interim CEO.
