Its been a while since we came here but we are back. So ladies and gentlemen, what is the news?

I feel like I work with incompetent people. Some I seriously question how they keep their jobs. Am I alone here? Am I just unlucky? I get technical gaps but this is basic common sense and elementary math.

I tried bringing it up and got shot down immediately. That’s frustrating, because if compensation is off-limits, there’s no way to know who’s being underpaid, and I’m guessing it’s more common than people think.

Why? Seems strange, is Stefan still thinking about Content Server? Why Directory Services and not just OpenLDAP?

Just popped in and was surprised to not see a thread on the announcement this week. It's creating gossip for sure, would like to hear from people who feel they can speak freely though. I don't have dealings with them directly, but based on the comments I've seen in here, that seems to be a good thing. Do people think this will improve the culture? Are people relieved or worried what could come after this?

Kodak: Market cap 727 million. 3,700 employees.
Xerox: Market cap 247 million. 16,000 employees.
Is there a “right” layoff number or is this even a factor at this point? What am I missing here?

A email was sent regarding a meeting that is supposedly coming up with the new Operations Senior Director. Per the email, the new Operations Senior Director wants to get “acquainted with our business”. Any ideas of on what this could mean? No date has been set for the meeting yet, just an email saying it will be soon.

Like a year? How long has it been?

I thought there wasn’t a correlation between layoffs and stock.
