Is early retirement really bad?

I'm asking because my dad, who's been having some serious health issues, is refusing to consider early retirement because it would be - as he said it - a huge financial hit compared to waiting out retirement. Is this true? I have a feeling he's just a workaholic and is willfully ignoring his health because of it. He works at FIS.

Changes

Are any other departments implementing new and far out there changes? Our department was told today no one can start work before 7am even though we follow EST and some of the team are in different time zones. I feel like they are trying to see who they can push out so they don’t have to pay severance.

H-1B Salaries

This is a serious question and ONLY directed at H-1b FTEs. I’m a white female from Europe who used to be on H-1b when initially hired by Nike. I’ve been a permanent resident for a while now but still curious about something. I know the scenarios where H-1b hires get paid less or taken advantage of but I have never had that happen to me by Nike or any of my other (much bigger) employers. When Nike hired me, all of my coworkers on the team were American and my salary was comparable to or higher than theirs. Has any H-1b FTE observed they are in fact getting underpaid? Contractors are a different story and can be more easily exploited hence I’m excluding them from the question.

Intel CFO

I don't get it, how is Dave Zinsner still CFO at Intel? This guy miss managed Intel Finances for the last 4+ years and yet he is still there! I don't get it. His latest comment is about miss reading (or underestimated) Server demand is just mind blowing.

This guy should of been kicked out back in December 2024, yet he is still here. Is the board filled with a bunch of circus clowns or something!.

Work stoppage?

My direct supervisor told me theres a strong possibility that we could be working operations jobs February 1st. I dont want to be locked in the plant away from my family. I wasnt here in 2015. Any thoughts on how realistic this will be?

Tenure Patterns?

Hi - someone earlier in the week posted a thread asking for ages, and wonder if we can do the same for tenure. Trying to gauge if they’re laying off people who have been with the company a minimum of say, 3 years, or if it’s random and even people who have been around 1 year or less are being let go too…
