March 2026 Layoff rumor

Does it have any legs?

Also heard that they are looking for volunteers. Bit confused.
If I express interest, then I am exposing my intent to the management which can easily put me in a PIP or find other reasons and kick me out.
If I keep quiet also it may happen but then I missed my chance of volunteering (and may be saving someone who needs the job). I am done with this org and have something else. But I do not want to lose my one-year of potential severance. That is a lot to leave it on the table

Any insight?


New to the bench

DXC lost the account I was on (in North America (being deliberately vague)) and now I'm on the bench after many years on this account. I've been told they will look for a new placement but I'm not sure how long that will take and if they will find one. How long can I be expected to be in this situation? They are not telling me much. What usually happens from here? Is there anything I can be doing (aside from training, etc). Thanks!

Asked a question on Exxon’s Layoff page

I posted a question on Exxon’s thread asking for input on their forced ranking that we’re adopting. I think I frightened them all into hiding. 50 some views and crickets but their side has so much more traffic than ours. that’s an indication of the culture Wael has adopted. Command, Control, Destroy, then retire with a golden parachute. I’m feeling closer to peers of other companies than I am to supporting our LT. Fu-k Wael. Fu-k anyone above a JG1.

Just copying my comment from a buried thread into its own thread to draw attention. I think we should all be aware Wael wants Exxon culture. I work with 3 former Exxon people and they all have shockingly similar stories despite working across the US. Dark days are coming.


Question to our CEO

I reviewed some quarterly meetings with the ELT and one important question was asked to the CEO.

You have mentioned we have the people to win and emphasize we are a people-first culture.
So, why is cutting people first a yearly action plan for long-term growth and profitability?
After five years of people first cuts, might it be time to rethink this strategy. How about people-second?

Does anyone know if this person was made an example of?
