Is inconsistently meets a death sentence?
Received inconsistently meets during half year review. Am I being prepared to be sla-ghtered here?
Been here 16 years. Uprooted my life in Colorado to move to hub (CLT) last year and now they want to probably let me go.
Well.. it's been a good run
With the latest bay area announcement (see https://www.crn.com/news/networking/2025/cisco-layoffs-total-more-than-200-in-bay-area-cut), and seeing really good employees take the hit recently, this article has now made me lose all hope that there is a future for me at Cisco.
This company is unrecognizable from even just a few years ago. One by one they keep plucking off the good ones. It really is just a matter of time.
So... I hope to go through my five stages of grief (currently in phase 2 - anger) quickly and get to acceptance so I can plan the future and get on with my life. I'm just... sad. It didn't have to be this way.
PMI All-team call
All I hear is b.s., b.s., b.s. Get ready for September layoffs while we’re supposedly doing so awesome!!!!
AI has basically become a code word for offshoring
Sure, it has some practical value. It can speed things up and automate basic tasks, but it still needs constant babysitting. It’s nowhere near what it’s been hyped up to be, and it’s definitely not the real driver behind the layoffs. From what I’ve seen in recent media reports, it’s just turned into a convenient excuse for more cuts and offshoring.
Its that time a year again at HMH
October is right around the corner and its layoff season again at HMH. Massive customer problems with this years back to school. Lots of customers asking for their money back. New CTO, with an attention span problem and flare for unprofessional behavior, dead set on getting rid of most of the technology staff. 80 hour work weeks. continuous stream of abuse to drive people to quitting so they don't have to pay severance pay..... and the result is?, you guessed it, October is fast approaching, massive layoffs both in technology and across the company. One cannot imagine why year after year of layoffs could have possibly resulted in such bad outcomes.
Surgical robot maker to lay off up to 331
The company said it would encourage the affected employees to apply for open roles, which could lower the final layoff figure. The cuts are out of a total workforce of 15,638 employees as of last year.

Real news on RIFs
This site used to have good information related to coming layoffs. Now all it seems to have is people complaining about upper management and/RTO. Sadly, the site is becoming more irrelevant as time passes.
So I will try one more time. Does anyone have any REAL intell on coming layoffs?
What's with Wells Fargo's love affair with layoffs?
Is there really no other way to improve the bottom line? What kind of incompetent leadership is running this place?
They got rid of the new guy
We just got some help at the start of the year. Much needed help, let me add. I feel so bad for the kid. Why hire somebody just to kick them out so soon? How does that even make sense?
inevitable layoffs?
Since Paramount and Skydance merged I think Ive read somewhere there could be more layoffs soon..... Im not 100% sure so can someone back me up?
After the recent last wave of CPM, have Intel reached their target of 75K employees?
If not, I afraid there will be another mini wave
Cisco GSX
It doesn’t get more ridiculous: while the ELT is carrying out further layoffs, nearly 20,000 salespeople and useless middle managers are being flown to Vegas to party. How is that compatible with the layoffs and the H1B scam? GSX must cost over 100 billion USD with those private concerts. A slap in the face for all customers, employees, and partners who pay a lot but get less service .. or get fired.
This is not over
If you think it is, you're being incredibly naive. We'll get a month or two reprieve before more cuts are announced. And that's how it's going to be from now on. The writing's on the wall, people.

High earners are always targets
If your paycheck is bigger than most, brace yourself. Management doesn’t care about loyalty. They’ll cut the highest-paid first without blinking. It’s frustrating, unfair, and exhausting. Keep your resume ready and don’t kid yourself thinking it won’t happen to you.

CONNECTICUT — A solar energy company with offices in multiple states announced this week "permanent layoffs" are planned for its three offices in Connecticut, with nearly 80 employees affected.
According to a WARN notice sent Monday to the Connecticut Department of Labor, PosiGen Developer LLC plans to implement permanent layoffs at its facilities in Shelton, Danbury and Wethersfield "effective immediately."
The layoffs commenced Sunday, affecting a total of 78 employees located in or reporting remotely to the three Connecticut facilities, according to the notice.
"This layoff will result in, among other things, the permanent closure of one or more operating units at the [three] facilities," Chief Administrative Officer John Truschinger wrote in the WARN notice. "The company is actively seeking to obtain sufficient financing from its lender to continue its remaining operations and/or to effectuate a sale of its remaining business and, if it cannot do so, it intends to shut down all operations and close [the three Connecticut] facilities on a permanent basis."
The notice also indicates the company plans to shut down all operations and close the three Connecticut facilities on a permanent basis if it is unable to "obtain sufficient financing to continue operations or to effectuate a sale of its remaining business," resulting in the termination of eight remaining employees of the facilities between Aug. 31 and Sept. 13.

Decent severance would get me to volunteer
I'm not among those who hate Nike. I've had some good and some bad years here, like any with any job. I do recognize that this is not the same company it was a decade ago, and I wouldn't mind continuing my career somewhere else. As long as severance is decent, I'm okay with being laid off.
How are you feeling?
Those who survived this round, are you feeling relieved? I'm not, at all. Number one, I still can't relax, even though I know it's over for now. And number two, since I know there'll be more down the line for sure, I don't feel any safer than I did yesterday. So not much of a change.
What areas?
Curious as to what broad areas are sting most layoffs. Like are there areas that aren’t getting hit at all or areas that are basically being gutted? (I don’t work there, but have many friends who do)
Chance of MD Layoffs
SM said there have been contract freezes and lack of work? How is it for applicants?
More Layoffs Are Coming In October
FYI. Dead serious.
Is TFB struggling?
Were they impacted by the layoffs? I thought they were doing well according to the quarterly update.

Stephanie’s town hall
Anyone at the town hall? This whole idea of activating AI agents and digital workers, while at the same time saying “w know you guys will be here for fifty years” implying this is the last company we will work for (because it’s great). Man, what an out of touch thing today. On the heels of constant Layoffs, fear is getting replaced by AI and admiring that we can’t afford hiring new people and need to move to digital workers.. what a horrific sight to see
When do the share holders say enough is enough?
Elevance's stock price continues to plummet and yet we still have the d-mb a--holes running this company from the board and senior VP levels. At what point can we get rid of these people? It feels like a tech company extracting anything of value out of the company before selling it to the highest bidder right now. Nothing works, nothing changes but the same recycled, terrible ideas from upper "leadership". Gail is a fu--ing problem and yet she still makes her 20 million + in bonuses while layoffs and AIP cuts happen. When is enough, enough?
More bnsf | tech cuts tomorrow?
Last minute meeting invites went out for tomorrow from Hari "the axman" govind. Zoom call for 0930. Rumors of inperson 0900 meetings, but cant confirm. Anyone have more info?
Layoffs are coming in Q4
Layoffs are coming to the back office. Mangers have been told to hit a number effectively by whatever means necessary and to submit a list of names by mid September. This will hit already lean teams. Prepare yourselves.
