Come back, Informant!

We need that person or people who had the very solid info before The Email came out to come back and feed us more.

How is tomorrow going to unfold? This one isn't like the last one (2015). There was no notice ahead of time.

Can someone who knows please tell us if there will continue to be small rounds with a team here and there or if there'll be another big bang in January or February?

Remote Workers Speculation

my manager told me he expects remote workers outside LA NY to be hit very hard this week as they plan to phase them out anyway .. if their job was needed - would rehire
this is me - he told me he doesn't have the list - who knows about that ..
anyone hear anything about this specifically -
they would have had to look specifically at where you lived and where your team was ..

design is our north star

saying 'design is our north star' while utterly gutting OB sends the opposite signal to both our teams & guests... this can work a bit, but eventually this will cost us big time. i do not want to rant about this too much as today is a very difficult day for many but i am just saying that this will sink us even deeper and it will trigger even more layoffs.

Stock Price

It's interesting that the removal of the growth cap hasn't resulted in a significant gain in the stock price, nor has it resulted in Wells Fargo buying up anything. We still seem to be in the continual layoff loop we've been in ever since Charlie came on board. Why aren't we growing now? Surely, there must have been people planning for when the growth cap was lifted.

It’s giving “HUNGER GAMES: BULLSEYE EDITION!” 🏹🎯

Everyone acting calm while refreshing Slack and Outlook like it’s the stock market.
Morale’s on clearance and hope’s in short supply.

Good luck to all tributes tomorrow — MAY THE ODDS BE EVER IN YOUR FAVOR 🫡🔥

See y’all at the Target Café for one last Red Eye Latte ☕😬

60 days is the Warn act

Wanted to ensure everyone knows that the 60 days that is provided is not out of generosity of target. Its a way they are actually getting around notifying the minnesota government of the mass layoffs. Instead of notifying the government first 60 days in advance of a planned layoff, its notifying employees and at the same time telling the government. Look up the minnesota warn act.

Just piling onto the absolute abysmal job target is doing to communicate.

Wells Fargo warns of more layoffs amid ongoing job cuts

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/wells-fargo-warns-more-layoffs-203919733.html?fr=sycsrp_catchall
Wells Fargo has cut staff every quarter for the last five years. Its headcount of 210,821 declined 1% from the end of the second quarter and is down 4% from Sept. 30 of last year.

The CEO said the company has instead become more efficient.

“This was not driven by business sales or outsourcing but, in fact, real improvement in our efficiency,” CEO Charlie Scharf told investors on the bank’s earnings call. “We’ve also significantly reduced how much we spend on professional and outside services as well as non-branch real estate.”

Exact numbers of people who will lose their jobs were not shared.

RTO vs layoffs

as a remote employee i’m surprised they haven’t asked all remote employees (yet) to return to office or resign as a first wave. that way they’d save $ with paying out severance. i know they have asked specific roles to do so but not yet company wide. i’ve been waiting for the other ball to drop since hybrid RTO

We’ve hit some embarrassing records on layoffs.com

One of our posts about our su-k a-s security team and its crooked VP has hit over 100 thousand hits and counting. That is more than any other company has ever had on layoffs.com. One of the posts in that string has almost 4000 employees who have thumbs up the plead for help. That too is a record. Where have we gone as a company to sit mute to so many associates’ cries for help? It’s a pathetic record to have on this site and our customers see it. Hopefully the new company merger and shareholders and board of directors will see it and make the right decisions on who let this all happen and lay them off! Those records are embarrassing!

Good vibes from a customer

Hi everyone, I'm sorry for what's happening this week. I hope Target doesn't just turn around and post those roles in India.

Anyway, the top 10% of earners drive 50% of consumer spend. The other 90% are tapped out, and offshoring jobs definitely won't help those 90% get back to their typical spend levels that companies like Target rely on. So companies are increasingly marketing to the top 10% but that's just eating seed corn, not a growth strategy. Even then, my household is in the top 10% and shopping in a Target store has become something to avoid if at all possible. We'd rather have stuff delivered than deal with the hassle. So, I want Target to survive but if the plan is to offshore in India they're contributing to the decline of their own customer base, and deserve to go the way of Sears and Kmart.

Deadline for “unmapped” MROC associates?

I took ERP and have been gone more than a month (Hallelujah!) Hoping my friends who got laid off - the term “unmapped” was used - find new employment by the deadline, which should be around now. Anyone know the deadline to find new roles or other employment? Just don’t want to say the wrong thing to friends who are stressed and disrespected enough as it is. Thanks.

Morale

I have to imagine that if we do survive that morale is going to be bankrupt here. I would rather have a job, but I hope people realize that they are very talented and we deserve better of our employer. Don’t settle for anything less. Let’s support our co workers who do get let go and keep fighting for the kind of careers we all want… which is hopefully not this.

The Big Beautiful Layoff of 2026. predict when and what’s the narrative?

Something huge is afoot at the highest echelons of Oxy…We are witnessing real time projects to simplify the companies process and eliminate inefficiencies.

There’s increasing chorus to perform a 15-20% layoff in 2026 to satisfy the market and reduce retirement obligations…

2015 & 2025: A Company That Has Learned Nothing

Look back at the layoffs from 2015. The excuses are the same. Too many layers, too much inefficiency, too much redundancy, too slow with technology, costs out of control, and a business model in perpetual catch-up mode.

The only thing certain about this company is its ability to keep spinning and spinning without actually solving anything. This was a broken company then, and it’s broken now.

Managers reference layoff site in meetings

I've been in a couple meetings late last week and management Sr director, ADs, SMs all mentioning the site as if our fear isn't valid. Basically they all were saying everything here is fake and no one really knows. Just strange that higher-ups mentioned the site by name and wanted to discredit everything on here. Who's know what is true on this site but for leadership to acknowledge it shows even they know some layoffs are coming.

Don’t be mad.

The downfall at Target is certain. If you survive, find a new job ASAP.

Here is the big issue. You’re all worried about Trump and thinking the Mexicans are stealing the jobs when in reality it’s happening in front of our faces. It’s the Indians. Wake up people. India doesn’t even have Targets lol.

Target HQ I hope you read this. Good luck maintaining a company that operates in India that lack an understanding of the American culture. Do you see many Indians shop at Target? Mostly American white woman lol. That right there is the problem. But, hey, anything to save a Penny.

Another di-k move.

Hey HQ, 1800 of you will be laid of next Tuesday. Have a good weekend but go ahead and don't worry about it, but we'll let you work from home. We will even make you work Monday without knowing. And thank you for everyone clapping and cheering for me when my kids told you I make bad Dad jokes. I am just a regular guy.
