Coming into Q3 I'd normally be hiring for core and seasonal. I got an email recently to just focus on core... There's always a smell that lingers in the air right before employees are about to get sc--wed over.. It's starting to get that smell at WSI...

so far so good today. but... are we just left for latter and will there be a massive cut within these groups as well? i kind of have a feeling that we have been sloted for a later cut but i am basing this only on my personal gut feeling and i do not have any insder information. i was talking to one director level person and she thinks that we'll be fine but i am unsure if i should trust this. i am not too concerned but given how crazy all of this i'd say anything is possible.

It’s the last week before the application period closes.. what are you hearing? Is it as messy as the first wave? Also been hearing some rumors about a possible third wave in 2026 have you heard anything on that side?

Anyways also heard it’s 20 to 30 percent reduction.

Rumor is that security guards are getting laid off at the end of October.

I’ve seen tooth dates stated- if anyone in here really knows then provide details on what group you’re in and where you got your information. It’s inevitable there will be layoffs - people just want a heads up.

Got a job offer from UHG for a data role but reading all these layoffs and RTO post has me worried. Currently employed but under paid with relatively stable job security. Anyone know if the data roles are heavily affected by the layoffs or RTO?

The original announcement was, Imperial Oil will lay off 900 staff from Calgary to reduce operating cost, and staff at the asset level will remain untouched. But, now I find out that they will layoff from Strathcona refinery too.

What happened? Did I miss understand the original announcement? Or, is it IOL management lying to us again?

Grand opening of the new state of the art office in Dallas may become a big issue for Denver’s neighbors in the cash register building.

Possible that WF will look to relocate/layoff associates and minimize or close that office in the future. Making soon to be let go TIAA Denver associates job hunts more difficult … while also instantly make it even harder than it already is to find that fresh young talent in Frisco at TIAA….

What a tremendous job by TBD and her team of talented executives including puff daddy’s right hand man and the the Texas location “worm in the ear” started by smart people in the late great Herb Alison leadership and his team that was the greatest leadership era of our time before TBD who will only surpass his excellence. I was surprised (but kind of not) that nobody in my area of OB was active on Slack on Friday.
Are people just taking these next few days off until Tuesday? It feels really stupid to be wasting any breath working for deliverables if I might get the ax on Tuesday

I’ve been hearing there’s ai now that can do our jobs… and that the entire SWE chapter but almost exclusively application engineers are targeted for ENGINE asap.. is there truth to this? Tbh I’ve been looking for jobs since last August with zero interviews so I’m really really worried. Any insight would mean a lot, thanks !

There’s talk of more layoffs coming, although the last round didn’t address the real issues and was just a quick fix to cover overspending. Cutting experienced employees with deep knowledge of the systems has created gaps that are hard to fill. The company is losing people who understood how things worked, and new hires don’t have the same level of expertise. Until leaders make real changes, it’s unclear how things will improve.

Does anyone know what areas are rumored to be impacted across the digital product, design, and engineering triad?

I had a meeting with my L8 (as an L5) the week before fiddelke’s email that in hindsight really suggested they knew what was up and were trying to prepare me for it because it sounds a lot like my lead (L7) is getting let go.

Hello Folks. The last round was just over on 10/23. The next round is fast approaching. Employment at ATT is like paying utility bills - it happens monthly and don't know the number (in this case employees impacted).

If layoffs are really coming, which group do you think gets hit first: tech, retail, or shared services?

The SMS have slowly had their role trickle over to India. Even though they’re low on the totem pole, I’m wondering if they’re on the chopping block since they fall within merch. Or since there are the rumors of a second round in January, if the train TII in the meantime and axe them then? Of course that would be messed up to our ppl anyways, but it’s just helpful to have someone from the states in this time zone to interact with vendors. Has anyone heard of any whispers on if we may be losing them?

Does anyone know if we will we receive any layoff email at midnight or later in the morning on Tuesday?
