1:1? A phone call? An email? Something else? What should we be looking for?

Anybody get any emails this weekend? That's when they've typically been doing it lately.

If anyone hears of or gets the boot, please post this coming week.

We've got an email 1:1 appointment with business objectives. I talked to others, at least 10 ppl. 15 years was not enough, for this beast.

Scrum Master at Fidelity Merrimack, NH, heard rumors today of layoffs tomorrow, 5/7/2026. 30 minutes ago, received an unscheduled meeting with their Mgr at 8 am tomorrow. Believes they are being laid off, despite excellent performance. 1/1/2027 would be their 2nd anniversary.

Asked my manager straight if I am part of the layoffs. He seemed to be unaware and pretended that he didn’t know much. Either he’s on the chopping block with me or is playing d-mb. I do see a 15 min slot booked on his caleder tomorrow at 9:30. 😂

What to expect

So I just got off a 1:1 with my manager and it was just the quarterly check-in, thinking it will be for the worse. The past few days were filled with anxiety with the rumors and the posts on this site. I think on a mental standpoint I'm done reading these comments and posts. Not to say that it may or may not happen and I do relate to those affected. For those who are worried and anxious these are just rumors. Take care of yourself.

I already have a weekly 1:1 meeting scheduled on each Monday, and today I got my manager's email for a 1:1 on 04/20. I guess it's my time now.

Has anyone received a response after submitting a question to Cognizant?

Or, has anyone had a one-on-one with them? How did it go?

It’s starting

When was the last time you had a 1:1 with your manager? Do you have yearly goals you commit to? Do you receive a year end review?

First time this has happened, in the middle of the week. Is this something to be concerned over, considering there are no active layoffs currently?

Tomorrow night or Monday morning?

For those let go, are this layoffs being done during the 1.1 meetings?

If I see an HR person on the call, I know I'm gone before anything has been said.

15 minute one on one with my director, a bit outside the 8am - 10am window but they’re in a different timezone than I am.

How often is your manager doing 1:1s

Town hall seemed to say everyone is going to have a 1 on 1 with their manager this month to talk about their future. Surely wouldnt bother if there isn't bad news to break.

Also no merit increases again, su-k it up.

Is this it? Is this how people are notified? Is there any chance this could be something else? I feel sick to my stomach.

Somebody mentioned it's a pre-recorded video but another person said it was a 1:1 with their manager. Which is it?

Just checked email. No 1:1 with GP yet. Yes, I shouldn’t check today but they didn’t say a “start time”. What if they start at 7:30am CST?! And I miss the 1:1. They should have done better on when invites would be sent out. Basic communication folks.
