Quick observations from colleagues across Fidelity sites:

Heavy reliance on personal networks for hiring (often relatives/friends from India via H-1B/transfers) → opportunities stay within tight groups.
Frequent non-English communication (Hindi, Telugu, Tamil) in teams → harder for others to participate fully.
Some regional cliques/tensions (North vs. South Indian) → minor friction in team dynamics.
Manager concentration in NC (Raleigh-Durham) and Boston → Westlake (TX) employees feel work gets less recognition, with favoritism toward co-located East teams (“out of sight, out of mind”).
A few ex-Infosys/TCS folks bring limited knowledge-sharing habits → siloed work, reduced collaboration, and poorer team culture in affected groups.

I’m hearing for the new orange contract for mobility they are going to continue permanent WORK FROM HOME for those employees under orange contract. Then they will hire near end of year for WFH. Anyone heard of possible outcome for the Orange contract ?

Verizon downfall can be easily summed up. Cant post work emails here but 90% of these foreign born directors (guess what country?) cannot spell basic first grade words right. Three team members left months ago with no replacement in sight. Their responsibilities have been distributed among the rest of us, and it seems leadership views this as a permanent solution. Is there anything we can do to force them to hire some people, because we're close to our breaking point?

I swear this place gets worse every day. It does not matter who you talk to, audit, risk, commercial, wealth or the random person in the kitchen the complaints and misery never end. The reasons are all over the place and true from everything I have seen and experienced. I hope they start fixing the culture. They won’t. They are not hiring when people leave. Makes you wonder if they want to be sold.

What happened to the robust pipeline of talent that was spruiked so enthusiastically by IT leaders only a few years ago? What happened to all the digital scholar wunderkinds who were going to change the company?

It looks especially bad after so many other high-profile departures from Chevron, especially in the IT and data segments.

And who in their right mind with those skills and located in the US would work for Chevron?

(I wonder if whoever lands the role will have to do a Skills Insights assessment, and whether they will be allowed to score above “fundamentals” with their lack of Chevron experience?)

Many have commented on the change in culture and how the company has changed for the worse. Does a lot of this have to do with the newer hires over the past few years?

The company has hired a lot of new people and to be fair some have been good. However in many cases it looks like the company’s hired a lot of mediocre employees. It feels like the company used to hire the best of the best. Recently it feels like the scraps are getting picked up.

There are so many H1b employees in Nike already and this is still continuing.
When Americans are losing jobs and so many qualified engineers are looking for work we continue hiring fresh h1b graduates.
This is wrong.

We are so short-staffed right now it's unreal. I'm not sure who they're hiring these days, but the new folks in my store have zero experience and just stand around for most of the day. It's nothing like it used to be. It makes the job ten times harder for the rest of us.

Gartner had a mass layoff in TA end of September (not performance based) and now I see Gartner is advertising jobs on LinkedIn for recruiters. How can they layoff staff, then post same job less than 3 months later?
