1000 new hires in —-

India of course, where else.

Meanwhile in US, we continue to shed. That’s what happens when you don’t like coming back to office. Still empty offices, folks pretending to be “working” from home.

Are all attempts to hire qualified staff so sc--wy?

I work in the tech industry and saw a job posted at Pure Storage, California, back in May. It wasn't exactly what I was looking and I was in final interview somewhere else so I handed it off to a friend. He is very experienced, but over 40 white male. They called him for a quick phone interview and said they would set up a second interview. That never happened. Months went by then he got an email wanting an interview as soon as possible. Kind of like "months went by, really?" on their end.

So I did some digging and called up a friend of mine that now works in HR at Pure Storage corporate. She said FTEs didn't seem to be a focus of Pure Storage now and they were looking for temps, contractors, etc.

Question - is that true? Doesn't that mean the company is in bad shape? Any company that would pass on experienced FTEs for leftovers sounds like a company without $$ and about to crash or purposely being hung out to dry. Any insights? Thanks!

Nepotism at its finest. While we lay off experienced individuals.

The Director/Manager's daughter got hired on making 65K+ as a Business Analyst with a Bachelors Degree in Fashion and no prior health care experience. When normal people don't get looked at unless you have at least 1+ of health care experience. But if you have the right last name and NO experience you can just be handed a job. NO need to work for it.

Hiring Plans at 16 year low

US layoffs fell in September, but hiring plans dropped to their lowest level in 16 years, according to new data. At the same time, Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway agreed to acquire Occidental Petroleum’s OxyChem unit in a $9.7 billion deal, Tesla reported record Q3 EV deliveries, and OpenAI became the world’s most valuable private company with a $500 billion valuation.

More jobs and hiring in India!

Take a look at the job postings in India to understand who they will be firing! Pretty classy to keep posting about jobs and hiring in India the same time you are firing and doing mass layoffs of the long time employees who built the company.

What are the best alternatives?

Where is everyone applying? I know most people are already looking, since no one’s crazy enough to just wait and see if their number comes up, but the listings I see are honestly discouraging. There are so few openings compared to how many of us will soon be out there searching. Are people branching into other industries too? Is there anywhere that’s actually hiring where our skills translate well?

Entry Level Positions? FY26

Hi, does anyone know if they are hiring or plan to hire new college graduates?

Myself and classmates have applied to dozens of positions across various departments but can not get an interview at this company (even positions that don't require a college degree). It is one of the few FinTech companies in our area.

(3.5+ GPAs, STEM/Finance degrees, US citizens, 30 minute commute.)

Or if anyone knows what type of candidates they are currently looking for, that would be very helpful!

Thank you

90% Representation, 0% Diversity: A Wake-Up Call for PepsiCo?

There is a significant lack of diversity within S&T. A simple visit to the 4th floor of the Plano office makes this clear — over 90% of employees appear to be Indian, with very few White, Black, or Hispanic employees present. On nearly every call at PepsiCo, you will find at least one Indian participant. The representation is not just high — it is overwhelmingly disproportionate.

A close friend of mine, who was laid off by his Indian manager last year, shared that many Indian managers predominantly hire other Indians, leaving candidates of other ethnicities at a disadvantage. In my own experience, I have yet to see an Indian manager leading a team where more than half of the members are non-Indian.

This raises serious concerns. The numbers don’t lie — the pattern is clear and consistent. Such hiring practices undermine diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, and create an uneven playing field for others. It also gives the impression of exploiting the H-1B visa system, which further skews fair competition in the workplace.

Timelines for hiring

Fellow Citi bankers,
I completed two round of interviews for a C13 role at Citi. I got a request to upload my photo onto workday. I did that about 4 days ago. How long does it usually take to HR to come back to me with the offer after the photo verification process?

IT Job Market is Ugly & Getting Uglier

Probably doesn’t help that hiring managers and recruiters use services that look at and summarize FB, Instagram posts, etc., and company-identified boards like this one, to not only get a sense of personal characteristics of applicants, but the culture from where they are/came.

It’s already super competitive marketplace for jobs in this industry. And it’s only going to get worse. No company using one of these services is going to hire anyone with F5 on their resume based on the comments here. Too many competitors will have applied for the same job without this baggage. And AI tools specific to this task will only make this sort of information more accessible.

Remove F5 from your resume if you can. Or, hope that the sh-t-posting stops - probably unlikely as humans are their own worst enemy when cornered, or laid off.

So, a round of applause for all the sh-t-posters. While they practice their freedom of speech, accomplishing nothing to change anything with F5 for the better, they are making it impossible for all of us to find another job if laid off.

Good luck out there. You’re going to need it - based on the comments here.

Does USAA hire any data engineers/analysts who dont need sponsorship? All I see if H1B sponsored internal hires ?

There have been hardly any senior or lead positions open in the data space. Even if something is posted, looks like they are mostly labor filing related openings and you get a response back that you do not meet the expectations. No calls no nothing but just a rejection. This all seems to be internal referrals and 3P conversions or referrals taking up the roles or is it true that there is no need for data related roles at USAA. What's the deal?

I know 3 people who have left just this week

Are we hiring backfills? These people work on AI. They work with customers. They manage people. People are pulling 10 hour work days.

As we're constrained for CX Summit, we're simultaneously betraying our core contact center customers. We want to operate like a startup but don't hire like startups do: more designers, engineers, managers in the US.

Is leadership even aware?
