Layoffs 2026
I have never seen Halliburton do a layoff every week. Shannon and Jeff up there are destroying lives and going to sleep peacefully. How evil is that? They are getting rid of people in the name of cost savings blaming it on the war, can anyone explain how they decide who leaves? I’ve seen people who have done well performance still get laid off. The rest of the year is going to be anxiety effing riddle. Eff you j and s
Amazon Warehouse Staff Reduction Announced
Amazon is laying off nearly 500 employees at its Port St. Lucie fulfillment center. The separations are effective this week and in December. The company plans to renovate the facility and reopen it in 2028. Amazon states it is offering transfers to other locations for affected workers. Local officials express concern about the economic impact on the community.

Preemptive Firstnet layoffs in October
T and firstnet leadership are in a massive pressure cooker putting employees who support the network and services in the epicenter of the blast zone. The Department of Commerce Office of Inspector General (OIG) issued an explosive audit (Report OIG-26-015-A) explicitly stating that the FirstNet Authority failed to ensure network service availability and failed to verify that AT&T’s data was reliable and accurate. Combine that with previous OIG investigations revealing that senior officials actively obstructed audits and retaliated against employees, and it becomes completely clear why leadership imtends to scrub the ranks of anyone who knows the truth about fictional timelines and launches and capabilities. Ask yourself if your part of those teams or people you know who work in this area if they have ever been gaslit and pressured into sharing fictional status and fantasy timelines. Those who resist are marginalized, discredited and kicked to the curb. The October layoff is being we-ponized as a preemptive cover-up to silence “witnesses”. Firstnet employees are no longer just dealing with typical downsizig but an active obstruction of a federal investigation. If you are an employee in this area, consider yourself warned and protect yourself immediately and get out. Feigning ignorance won’t save you.
Can I volunteer to be laid off?
Has anybody done it? Are there any risks to approaching my boss about it?
I'm Leaving
Well today's the day...
Can you still apply for VR or do I just hand in my resignation?
This is not the Adidas I joined
Adidas from 20 years ago and the one today are two completely different companies. I'm almost hoping to be laid off, just to leave this place behind.
Nothing to brag about anymore
There was a time when I would've defended this place without thinking twice. These days, I keep wondering what happened to the standards we used to have. So many decisions are difficult to understand that it's getting harder to take any pride in the place. I don't know how much longer this can continue.

Looks like we aren’t a “family” anymore. The dreaded day finally arrived.
Facing layoffs and 10%
I wonder if leadership understands the position they’ve put employees in now that we are facing the possibility of being laid off AND cut for being in the bottom 10%. Being laid off means it’s not due to your performance - your role just doesn’t exist anymore. Being let go in the bottom 10% “could” mean you’re a good performer on a high performing team. Just think about that. There are good hardworking people who create value for the company facing TWO possible ways of being unemployed. Really cr-ppy.
YMCA Faces Union-Busting Claims Amid Downtown Pool Layoffs
The YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region has laid off swim instructors and lifeguards at its downtown Colorado Springs location. These layoffs occurred as the workers were negotiating their first labor contract with the United Food & Commercial Workers Local 7. Union representatives allege the layoffs are an attempt to undermine unionization efforts. The YMCA denies this, stating the decision was due to financial circumstances and cost containment. The downtown pool has experienced frequent closures, disrupting classes and upsetting members.

Township Faces Staff Cuts Amid Financial Strain
Hillside Township is implementing layoffs due to increasing operational expenses. Mayor Andrea Hyatt cited rising costs in healthcare, food, gas, and utilities as the primary drivers for these difficult decisions. The township has submitted a layoff plan to the New Jersey Civil Service Commission. Affected employees will be notified, and a job fair is planned to assist them. The United Service Workers Union has criticized the process, alleging procedural violations and targeting of union members.

Our insurance coverage
Anyone else find it despicable they are cutting our healthcare coverage claiming to be working to lower the cost of healthcare? We don’t have the best as it is, and this is an insurance company!
I don't know how we got here
I used to feel good telling people where I worked. Now I find myself avoiding the subject because I'm embarrassed by what this place has become.
CEOs and Narcissism
Research estimates vary, suggesting 8–12% of CEOs may be highly narcissistic, while many others display milder traits along a spectrum.
Below is a URL to a recent article that goes into detail as research done on CEOs who exhibit narcissistic traits.

I'd rather know than keep waiting
If layoffs are coming, just tell people and let them make their plans. This endless uncertainty is worse than knowing where you stand.
I used to have a lot of good things to say about Fiserv
But now the workload has became ridiculous and I no longer feel like anyone is listening when I raise concerns about it. The culture has also deteriorated drastically, to the point where it's unrecognizable. Such a shame how much this place changed.
We're going to get a layoffs PTSD soon
How many layoffs have we survived just in the last three years? I lost count. I'm not even joking. Every single round takes a major toll on our mental and in some cases physical health. So much stressing, so much anxiety is not good for any of us, and we have to go through it basically all the time. It's inhumane.
Chubb Laid off workers
Chubb notified workers that they were laid off and their positions eliminated in September
The bots are back in force - you know what that means, layoffs time!
You pesky workers! We had a good thing going! All you had to do is go back to your dreadful office every day for the rest of your miserable life, get berated by management, enjoy whatever snacks we stole from the food bank down the road once a blue moon, hit your unrealistic goals and be happy with your current salary and position until the heat death of the universe!! Dont you see!? Most of you arent making us MONEY. Ah yes some of you are selling those pretty little products nicely, but not ALL of you! The Microfocus product hostage- I MEAN CLIENTS have began singing "dont fear the reaper" and "we ain't gonna take it" on renewal meetings! The ONE set of products we had people tied down for life with environments so complex they needed priests on a 24/7 rota to perform exorcisms just for them to work normally and Moses himself to return for a second time to lead a migration away from the products that will take fourty years of what feels like a trek in the Sahara desert and you pushed them away too?! What do you want ?! Was the shifty treatment, silencing and threats and lack of any sort of improvement of your day to day life under the rule of the great leader not enough for you ?! DO YOU STILL DESIRE MORE ?!
Now all joking aside, it seems someone from leadership got told on a meeting "by the way guys, there's this website, not sure if you know it, and the things they write about you there, ooooh boy.." and they remembered about this page's existence again. The last time the bots were pushing the 1984 agenda with its all peaches and daisies and flowers and roses and everyone loves us was right before the last layoffs. We already had a bunch of rumors here for the layoffs coming in October, but in my opinion the bots more or less confirm it. Not sure how it is in your office (and I haven't been to mine yet today) but the previous days the mood can only be explained as a disaster. Even colleagues that are typically positive are cursing the products they're working on.
If your reply contains the words "markets love us" and something equivalent to "absolutely agree, no layoffs confirmed by all powerful glorious leader" you hereby declare you are a bot.
Town Hall - They are insane
The very fact that they are holding a Townhall today is completely tone deaf, but if you are able to listen to it, what a terrible attempt at a cheerleading session this is, it actually makes me sick to my stomach.
A thought for people who survive a RIF
I've been thinking about this because I've now been on both sides of it. I've made the calls. I've been the person on Zoom or the phone telling someone their job was being eliminated. And then last year I got the call myself. I thought I understood what that felt like because I'd watched people go through it and I'd had some really difficult conversations with people I cared about. I didn't. Not completely.
One day you're working. Your calendar is full, you're in the middle of projects, people are calling you, and you're thinking about what needs to happen next week or next quarter. Then suddenly you're not part of any of it. The company keeps moving, your meetings still happen, your work gets reassigned and eventually people you talked to every day stop calling. That's not a criticism of them. They still have jobs to do and you're simply not part of their working lives anymore. It takes some time to get your head around how quickly that happens.
That's why I have a hard time with some of the survivor posts immediately after a RIF. We lost great people, we'll raise a glass to them tonight, tomorrow we rebuild, we push on, we continue the mission. I know most people who write this stuff mean well, but think for a second about the people who just got cut. The company just told them they're no longer part of the mission. Trust me, they already know you're going to push on without them. They don't need you to tell them.
There's something else I think people who survive these things need to understand. If you've survived five RIFs, don't convince yourself you've somehow gotten good at surviving RIFs, or that continuing to survive means you're special or safe. I've been involved in making these decisions and that's simply not how it works.
Sometimes a product goes away. Sometimes the strategy changes. Sometimes they need to take cost out of one organization and not another. Sometimes two groups get combined and suddenly there are two people for one job. And when you get down into the list, HR and the lawyers are looking at it too. They're looking at age, gender and other protected groups because the company needs to understand whether the RIF creates an adverse-impact or discrimination problem. I've actually participated in this process. When you get into close decisions, factors other than who is the better employee can absolutely become part of reviewing that list.
So maybe your product survived. Maybe your particular job was needed in the new organization. Maybe you ended up on the right side of the ledger this time. Or maybe you just got lucky. None of that means you aren't good at your job. It just means you shouldn't assume the person who got cut wasn't every bit as good at theirs.
If you really want to help the people who lost their jobs, help them. Make the introduction, send the resume, pick up the phone, write the recommendation. Then go back to work. You don't need to post about how you're going to carry on with the mission. They already know.
And if you've survived five RIFs, maybe the lesson isn't that you're safe.
Maybe it's that you've been lucky five times.
Connect with me program
Anyone heard of it? I talked to someone and they are meeting with folks from different departments to learn anout whay the departmentdoes. I never heard of it. Is this a program for folks that are about to get laid off but have no clue?
I’m really happy to quit now
I’ve been a part of Citi since 2018 and it felt like a completely different world back then. Maybe Mike Corbat wasn’t the best CEO and the organization struggled a lot back then, but at least it felt like working in a normal, non-abusive and non-toxic environment. We might have resolved the reg consent orders, but at a cost of sacrificing the human capital. Shame.
VZI "leaders" are so full of it
I havent had a team meeting or skip level in the last 3 months while being told to work 12 hours a day coz "Business team wants something urgently".
But suddenly I have 3 different meeting invites this week to "Go through the Pulse questions".
Absolutely pathetic people are the so called "leaders". Shame on you. I wish they get axed first. No way im giving anything more than a 1/5 to these a--holes.
Employment at Truist as a transactional relationship
I've been here for many years. I do my job well. Not "above and beyond." Not "wearing 17 hats." I mean I do the job I'm actually paid to do.
In all my years here, I've seen exactly ONE person on my team get promoted. And, they have a different job title than me. My reward for sticking around and doing my job? Same performance review every year, bonus and tiny raise. Rinse and repeat.
So at this point, I've accepted that employment here is a transaction. I sell my time and skills, they give me a paycheck and benefits. Pretty straightforward.
I don't see a promotion in my future, so I'm not really sure why I'd voluntarily take on a bunch of responsibilities outside my job description for the privilege of... getting even more responsibilities.
What I find hilarious is watching some people on my team immediately volunteer for literally anything leadership throws at them. "Can you take this on?" Absolutely. "Can you also do this other person's job?" Sure. "Can you work on this project that's completely unrelated to your role?" Of course. "Can you stay late?" Where do I sign?
And then somehow everyone acts surprised when those extra responsibilities become permanent.
A lot of these people are older, so I've genuinely wondered if this is generational. Maybe they were raised with the idea that you work hard, prove yourself, and eventually the company recognizes your loyalty.
Meanwhile, my millennial brain is sitting here thinking: You want me to do a different job? Cool. What's the new job title and compensation?
Because I've watched enough Truist "career development" to understand that "great visibility" and "opportunity to grow" are sometimes just Truist corporate-speak for congratulations, you now have more work.
Maybe I'm cynical. Maybe I'm transactional. Or maybe I've just figured out that doing 30% more work for 0% more money isn't actually a promotion.
Curious what others think. Are people from different generations really approaching work differently, or are some of us simply less willing to donate our labor outside our job description to Truist?
News Media and Shareholders
If when you do an internet search on “Humana Stock.” And then click on “News” at the top, if you do the slightest internet research on each of those news reporting sites, you will find that almost all are owned by and run by India. And most will have sorted (unless your click to sort by latest articles) will show articles that speak favorably as to Humana’s stock.
Why do you think that is?
India is propping up Humana with their news media, with their buying stock into Humana, etc. So, no wonder Humana has so many Indians on the payroll, via H-1B or offshoring to India.
Please, won’t you remaining American citizens wake up and see what is occurring?!
What's the total?
Is there a way to know how many were cut just in the US?
Starbucks Faces Scrutiny Over Nashville Job Incentives
Nashville's Industrial Development Board expressed concerns regarding Starbucks' $30 million incentive package. Board members questioned the company's job creation promises and worker treatment. Starbucks plans to invest $100 million and create up to 2,000 corporate jobs in the city. The board's deliberations highlight potential hurdles for the coffee giant's expansion. Further discussions are expected on the terms of the incentive agreement.

MultiCare Health System Announces Statewide Job Cuts

Why is every backfill a six month project?
Why does every empty position sit around for four to six months before anyone fills it? Why do the rest of us on the team have to pick up the slack during that time?
This used to be a genuinely good place to work
Until it was destroyed by leadership who didn't and don't care about either the company or employees, but do care a lot about making sure to fill their own pockets as much as they can before this place is so ruined that there's nothing left to pick from its carcass.
We're struggling to keep up
A lot of experienced people have either left or been pushed out, and everyone remaining is being asked to pick up more work. The pay doesn't feel like it reflects how much is being demanded from us. Customers are noticing the problems, which only adds more pressure internally. It's a mess all around.
I chose unemployment
I left without another job lined up, and I don't regret it. Having no paycheck for a while feels less frightening than going back to that place, having to deal with an abusive manager who thinks screaming at the top of his lungs is a valid management style. Luckily, I have enough savings to be able to afford this, but I feel for my former teammates who are stuck with that monster. And before anybody mentions HR, they're completely useless.
Layoff happened, who’s clown now? 🤡
All the people downvoting others saying that layoff will be today on 9/14 and 9/15 IDC… turns out those whistleblowers were indeed correct.
Bunch of clowns here downvoting good info for no reason.
Move on or move out
The moment you spend everyday worrying about a layoff is your personal red flag to get out of that position/team or out of this company.
I am so glad I moved on.
No more micromanaging cr-p and no more unrealistic expectations. Gotta do what’s best for you.
