Curious how it works if you get laid off while you’re out on PTO. My manager has been very distant for a number of weeks now so I can only assume I’ll be part of the April 30 cut. I took this week off so they don’t lose my PTO but I’m curious would they still call me on Thursday? What if I don’t answer 😅

Do you get notified a day before or does an HR meeting pop up on your calendar in the morning?

Are the rest of us now safe for the rest of the week?

Look around at who’s left. It’s hard not to feel like we’re all temporary at this point. Layoffs keep coming, and eventually they will reach everyone they have to pay more than pocket change. Anyone still standing in the US is on borrowed time. It’s less a question of if and more of when.

No one has any faith in the employee survey. No actions are going to come from it.

You survive one round, you breathe a sigh of relief and think it's over. Then a few months later, another round happens. And another. Layoffs at Gainwell are like those horror monsters that keep coming back no matter how many times you think you've ki-led them. It's never really over.

It feels like we've hit rock bottom.

Seeing updates about the technology the company will be using, but nothing about when people will receive updates about jobs or locations. Isn’t closing in 2 weeks? The communication on this from leadership is completely lacking.

Hour long meeting full of insults. The idea that working in office will foster conversation and innovation is, as someone else has said, a fat load of kwap. There are SO many reasons for why this isn't going to go well on the 4th, but I don't want to beat a dead horse.

Is it now a fact that Sony won and Microsoft will simply lick its wounds and step away from Xbox and gaming in general? Am I being too paranoid, because that's certainly how it feels to me.

You'd have a bad quarter, they'd cut a bunch of people, then things would be quiet for a while. That's not how it works anymore. Now the notifications go out almost every week. Someone new gets the call. Someone new clears out their desk. Every single week. It's not a wave anymore, it's a constant drip. How did we let it come to this?

If we don't change quickly, we're finished. If we change in the wrong direction, we're also finished. So either way, we're finished.

Look at what this company is dealing with. Debt that keeps growing. Competition that keeps getting stronger. Lawsuits that never seem to end. Any one of those would be bad, but all three together? I don't see a way out.

Only a few hundred from the planned thousands were cut in this round. I don't know when it'll continue, but it'll continue soon enough. Be prepared, folks.

Anyone has any hints about what this year will bring? Do they plan second round of layoffs after Q1/Q2 results?
