When a company states that it will expand its footprint in an area with a new facility and consolidate 2 sites (Emeryville and San Diego) into one single research site, then something has to give. It won't be the leadership, but everybody else will be on the chopping block in 18-24 months. It is going to be painful for Novartis folks in California!

Layoffs are hitting one department at a time, rolling through regions?
So that means we’re still a long way from being done? Mid-September is the earliest we can hope for this to finally be over?
Any truth to 6k being a target?
This sounds a bit too much, but then again…
6k is 1/3. That’s the number. That gets the staffing to about 12k which is roughly half of what it was pre covid. That’s a huge reduction. With increasing output and content the goal is double the revenue of pre covid with half the staff. That’s how you turn a profit.

Future layoffs
Hi everyone, has anyone heard any credible updates or timelines regarding potential future layoffs? Just trying to stay informed and plan accordingly. Thanks in advance.
Exit dates between 9/26 through 11/21. Lol
Everyone is choosing 11/21 as their exit dates with some being Q12026! Chances are 9/26 WILL BE the exit date for the majority 90% of the folks, as Q3 ends and they start Q4 clean and less overhead.
October and November 21 dates are a pipe dream.

The company no longer values longevity or tenure. A couple times a year, they cut budget which means take chunks out of operating costs by chopping tenured people. Use them for a couple years and then move on...
Grades
If grades change up/down prior to 8/31 then I assume bonuses for T2 will reflect using the new grades.
