Supposedly it was going to be a day or two affair. Now it looks like this will drag on for more than two months, and that’s if we’re lucky.

They’re planing to replace as many as possible with AI. Did you see how much oracle is investing in AI? Expect layoffs to be a common occurrence until they’ve reached their goals.
Outside of one sentence by the pres (not ceo) about it being swift and not an “every quarter” thing, I don’t think they’ve said much about duration or rounds. I suspect once it starts they will tell us more but until then they are clamming up. It’s hard to fire that many in a day so not realistic. Plus intl takes time.
I think his idea would be everything done by the end of the year. Not drawn out for months. According to reports that’s what it sounds like

I don’t think they care or are surprised by how many take the buyout. They are replacing those folks with cheaper junior people. They are leaving most vp and higher execs in place to deal with it. Not saying that’s doable but that’s what it is.

I think a lot more people took the buy out then they thought and since it wasn’t in their control a lot of departments are sh-t out of luck. So they need more time to figure stuff out.

I think most of US employees will be notified by week of Oct 27. Possibly till year end to notify international resource?
I was a bit surprised. I figured there would be another round next year but to have multiple layoff rounds until the end of the year is painful.
