[Rumor] Citi going to a 5 day RTO model
Citi will be next to announce a 5 day RTO model. Almost certain the announcement will happen by July.
The future of RTO, and simply existing just became more expensive
Today Trump acknowledged fuel costs would not decrease until November, if even then.
How can I get my W2 as a former employee
This is a really d-mb place to ask this but since I know this will get eyes...
I am a former employee who had an incorrect address listed under my FIS workday to get around the RTO policy.
How can I get at my W2 now? I haven't worked there in like 5 months at this point. Anyone know?
They've made a real mess of this RTO situation
If they've botched this single issue so thoroughly, is it any surprise the whole business feels like it's about to tip over?
Losing people to retirement
For decades people and culture has been the strength of AT&T. I was 33
when I started at T 14 years ago. Probably the longest employment I have. The folks who were in their 40s and 50s when I started are now retiring. I lost many people already to age and RTO and supposed this trend continues. Barring some directors, my team largely is full of college kids and TDPs. At this point, I feel like I am that soon to be 50 year old in an environment which is more toxic than my predecessors started. The circle of life continues and I now contemplating to start fresh elsewhere.
Another Connect Week Complaint
Just wanted to vent on the whole connect week policy for regional centers- I'm quite frankly embarrassed to hold client zoom meetings when in the office- that clients have to hear the background noise of loud talking, laughing and coughing. I understand the loud talking as we are all raising our levels to ensure our clients can hear us over our colleagues. I wonder what client's impressions would be if they could actually see behind the scenes. All the negativity I see & hear from co-workers on the fact they have to go into the office isn't helping my morale either. At the end of the connect week I continually ask myself why did I need to go into the office? Not only did I not gain anything from it other than another cold/ flu virus but feel demoralized & with less money in my pocket after filling up my car.
Workday RTO message
It says that Mac and VID data is still being fixed. My numbers are extremely wrong, but I'm skeptical they'll ever be fixed. Does anyone know anything?
Age‑related diversity factors will influence how PIPs are applied
I’ve noticed a lot of posts from employees who are feeling anxious, especially those with longer tenure. But if you look at the RTO and data science groups, most of the people who ended up on PIPs were actually under 40.
When a manager isn’t technical, they often rely heavily on the more experienced people in the team. Those employees frequently position themselves as “mentors” or “coaches” to younger staff — sometimes as a way to stay relevant. The reality is that in the age of AI and rapidly evolving tools, not everyone keeps their skills current, and performance gaps can show up. In some cases, that wrong team dynamic ends up putting younger employees at a disadvantage.
A big part of the issue is XOM’s structural design. Opportunities aren’t distributed evenly, and we end up having some people doing tasks for years.
Someone’s finally taking the Stank to court over his remat
https://www.hcamag.com/us/specialization/employment-law/former-att-director-alleges-return-to-office-mandate-drove-out-older-workers/570973
A former director is suing the company for age discrimination related to the RTO and relocation BS. She specifically cites Stankey’s remarks in 2023 about the employee demographics skewing too old. Too much to ask first but boy would it be awesome if they got nailed for this!
How can they expect me to RTO if I can't trust the data?
What kind of company changes rules and then publishes bad data based on those changes? If I can't trust the data now then why should I trust it next month?
Data for the RTO tracker is wrong, but there's a new message
It says, "NOTICE: In‑Office Adherence data quality has been corrected for most team members; however, VDI and some Mac users may still experience incomplete or inconsistent data. This notice will be removed once the remaining issues are fully resolved."
RTO has been nonsense from the very beginning
Leadership stays busy, just with all the wrong things. Great way to use resources efficiently, right? It'd be hilarious if it weren't crushing us in the process.
Stand up and stop this madness
Why are we wven asking how to comply and trying to plan how many hours? PAY ATTENTION!!!! It doesnt matter when they are inconsistent and change the rules on a whim without appropriate consistent documentation and communication. If none of us comply then are they gonna consistently fire all of us? Some of ya'll need to watch A Bug's Life. 😆 There is more of us then them. Get off your knees and take the boot off your necks. Clearly their tracking is off so until they put clear consistent guidance what are you complying with and why? Lets all call in sick or take PTO for a few days. Let it fail and watch how tables turn.
Sneior Leaders (Tech) are laughing at Gunjan Kedia's mindset
Measure employee performance/success by a metric of number of hours they are seated in the chair at office and report this monthly in the "Talent and Performance"?
A Joke at a Fortune 500 Company.
Man, I Love Fridays (M!LF)
Friday tomorrow. You know what that means. I’ll be in the office at 5AM sharp to drop off my laptop. I’ll connect to the LAN and clear my inbox, then head home around 7 to eat breakfast abs watch the masters. I’ll sit on the couch all day and drink beer as I watch every angle of every shot. Around 1 when I’m on the way out to the bar with the fellas, I’ll stop by the office to pick up my laptop after a solid 8 hours are logged. Nobody I work with is in the same office as me anyway so nobody can even question it. As long as your report shows 8 hours, nothing else matters anymore. I’ll check in again Monday morning. RTO has changed my life and now life is good. All you gotta do is “show up”.
How many hours is a day
How many hours does an individual need to stay in the office to count as a day?
How to DESTROY 5th largest Bank in USA with 162 year history
Engage Gunjan Kedia to implement a performance metric that requires employees to remain stationary at their desks, focusing solely on monitor interaction. Her approach has been met with derision from peers across various departments, including HR, Legal, Tech, and Payments. Her methodology has been criticized for promoting an outdated cultural perspective within a major U.S. Bank.
What is your RTO cost? $2k/month? $3k/month? More?
What is this nonsensical RTO mandate going to cost you? Is RTO really all about foot traffic to justify the real estate investment? Are we secretly being used as pawns but told its for culture and collaboration but at the same time becoming a huge monetary and time burden while being reinforced its for the collaboration and growth of employees while at the same time helping the company justify its use of a building just for tax benefits? Like for real I'm facing an added $2500-$3000 in expenses every month as a result of this RTO mandate. The office I've been assigned to is over an hour away without traffic. So in a perfect world I am losing at least 10 hours per week in commute times. I actually expect this number to be about 22 hours/week based on our traffic. This is not work life balance. But hey at least that 1.5% raise I was GIVEN should cover the costs. I felt I should have EARNED more after exceeding all expectations again but I guess you get what they give you since performance and attendance mean nothing apparently. Would've been cool to get a 30% compensation boost like CEO.
Also I must point out there has been zero follow-up to Bill's email from mid January. The latest ethics and culture survey asks nothing about RTO.
I am the only one from my team in this state. What can I do in the office that cannot be done from a remote location? Besides playing workspace roulette when trying to find a quiet area to handle 5-7 hours of calls per day. I've tried to look at this from different angles but I can't get past this idea that the property valuations have been blamed on us and because of that we are being required to RTO 5 days/week to justify the use of a building. They do not care about the time, money, and tax burden this is causing thousands of employees because when you're worth tens of millions these burdens don't influence you or your decisions.
People leaving adds more pressure on the people who stay. Vacant positions aren't being fulfilled as quickly because of this RTO decision. Talent goes out the door. We have to work more hours. We have to spend more time and money. We have to train and onboard new people and hope they don't abandon ship or get pulled to a different team. This is a lose-lose scenario for tens of thousands of us.
A supposed Workday date fix is in progress
Workday currently has a message that reads, "NOTICE: We are actively addressing an issue affecting the accuracy of In Office Adherence data. As a result, a data update is currently in progress. This message will be cleared once corrective actions are complete and validated."
Absoulte sh-tshow
Just a rant!!
Earlier, 11 days used to do it but now 61% is 14 days. Makes no sense. My entire team is remote, I was hired remote but forcefully transitioned me to an office. I come here just to attend meetings and work alone with no in office interaction all while bearing additional cost of gas and parking
RTO phase 2 teams
Almost every team I have interacted with has mentioned they have an exception to RTO. Are there any teams who have been given the deadline to accept RTO? What does that entail, timing, severance, etc?
hearing rumors of the RTO policy being used to identify who to layoff
Manager warned us in a team meeting that execs are taking RTO extremely seriously, and implied they’re looking for people to layoff because of it
Agency Rto
When are agency folks expected to RTO ? Is it mandatory?
RTO or bust
Heard from several trusted sources that RTO is on deck during this next layoff wave. Unsure if it will be before, during, or after the "reorg" / "layoffs" this quarter but seems like it's happening. wHO's exCIteD foR AlL tHe iN-OFFicE CoLLAbORAtiOn?!?!??
Ivanti log in while in office showing 0 days in office.
Newish employee. Prompted to log in ivanti while in office. I just work off my laptop not the monitors. Report is showing me as in office 0 days. Why is this? Stressed out over here!!
I am not interested to come to office. Is it me alone ?
After the recent layoffs and seeing my friends left with very little severence I am scared.
I started preparing more for interviews from Home and I am not interested even to show up in office unless there are critical meetings. I used to respect coming to office earlier.
The severance pack received by my friend is very low and I am also scared now with a single email any time my job is in danger. This layoff has collapsed entire morale of the unit and the human work culture.
Changing the rules is the attrition tactic
RTO was designed as an attrition playground from day one, that was always the point. It was obvious they'd keep tightening the sc--ws, and turn up the heat if not enough people quit on their own.
Non compliant on new reporting
So do we think those that are now showing under 60% the last 5 months are going to be fired? Doesn't seem ethical to change it and then use it against us. I was hitting 11 days but that isn't hitting this new 60% goal.
IP Address Tracking is OFFICIAL
Per the comms sent to all employees from the CHRO, in-office time is NOW being tracked and measured. So all the rumors can be put to bed because designated hybrid employees are being tracked for RTO indeed.
RTO Tracker Missing Days
I come into an empty office 10-12 days a month. Why are my days missing? How is this goal bring tracked? Are we going to start tracking all of the “extra hours” I put in at home after being on calls all day.
The wait time for HR is 70 minutes. I am not giving up on this. Someone should have validated this data before publishing.
Honestly how many days do I need to come in?
Figure it out yourself it seems. Can’t even provide a live month to date view of what did or didn’t count so we can course correct. can’t clearly explain how to ensure our days do count. Cant tell us what months count in the rolling 3 months, surely can’t be anything prior to today and this new tracking system. Can’t provide a target of in this month x number of days (pre-adjustment) for next month or the future. when a week straddles 2 months we need to go in more than 3 days??
Today in the office most people spent more time putting together tracking files for themselves and this new messaging than the jobs we were hired for because this convoluted tracking system that only cares to show you historical data after the entire month has ended.
I struggle to understand how compensation for the year can legally be tied to RTO push that has ever changing tracking methodologies.
How can this be a goal in the system when the goal is clear as mud? Why does the goal keep changing?
Where the heck did this 6hr thing come from?
I do not understand.
A standard work day is 8 hrs. Why all of a sudden are people so stuck on 6 hrs in the office? Shouldn’t it be 8?
Since when have we ever had a 6 hr workday?
Tell Dell - Score either a 10 or 0
You've heard it every year, "if you don't give a perfect 10 then it might as well as be a 0", so take them up on this!
I have given Dell a 0 for the past several years, in hopes it will bring change. Instead they continue with rolling layoffs, pay cuts, mandatory RTO, rotating and incompetent executive leadership, and micromanaging direct management. A far cry from what it was like a couple years back.
The past 2 years have been back-to-back double digit declines in overall eNPS. They say they listen so make your voices heard! I will be giving Dell a 0 and will be my first year also giving my manager a 0.
Context: 6 years in sales, RR
Disclaimer: Responses are anynomus but managers can and will read responses. Consider typing out your feedback then having ChatGPT reword it so it's harder to trace back
RTO up next?
Please someone convince me why Oracle doesn't implement return to office policies. David Ellison has made his companies go back for 5 days a week. Most of the other big tech companies are at least hybrid. I feel like they want us to leave, and man this would REALLY make me leave. It's our only remaining unique quality :/
Workday RTO tracker is back and changed
It’s updated and now shows me as non compliant. They clearly changed the expectations. I’m surprised there isn’t any communication on this from the company.
RTO 75%
Anyone heard that?
Oil Price, European Rationing, and WFH
Does anyone else think with the price of oil being pegged above $100 a barrel for the foreseeable future, ongoing bo----g campaigns of oil infrastructure, and Europe already rationing oil / encouraging as little travel as possible that we might see a softening on the four day RTO?
Wasting gas to drive into the office to call into a remote meeting doesn't make any sense.
