More Cuts at GDIT
On August 18, 2025, GDIT submitted a notice to the Florida Division of Workforce Services indicating an upcoming mass layoff at its Doral, Florida facility, impacting 151 employees
This notice triggered scrutiny under the federal WARN Act, which requires employers with 100 or more employees to provide 60 days’ advance written notice before conducting a mass layoff or plant closure
Lay offs in Oracle Cloud Analytics team in Pleasanton
Does anyone know what's the scene for Lay offs in Oracle Cloud Analytics team in Pleasanton ? Is that happening ?
Is EDj being acquired by DC? Nothing makes sense. That does though.
Offshore, firings, opening an office in India. The Citi playbook. DC acquiring EDJ is the only thing that makes sense. Nothing else does.
Job cut
I am part of the job cut 😢
this morning was my last day, have interview set up, will probably have to relocate out west. Good luck to the survivors, there's a future out there if you want it.
😺
Do more with less
Every time we had a meeting with our leaders, we're always told 'Man, It feels bad. Totally unprecedented. But we gotta keep our heads up. Support one another. Work leaner this year. Put aside all the angst and bottle it up.. etc'
Expect more layoffs and restructure in September/October 2025, especially for tech orgs. A lot of offloading being moved towards the Manilla and India teams. Our stock has dropped and is hovering in the high 80s, compared to 120 it used to be; but we can probably assume this economy under this administration isn't going to promote people to buy more (process more transactions)

Shell Shutters Its Volta EV Charging And Media Division
Shell is shutting down Volta, the EV charging and media network it bought in 2023 for $169M. The company will dismantle more than 2,000 charging stations this year and lay off around 190 employees.
Volta’s model combined EV charging with ad screens to generate extra revenue, but it was losing about $140M annually and couldn’t meet sales targets. Shell reportedly tried to sell the business but found no buyer.
The decision marks a shift in Shell’s EV strategy toward high-speed charging at its own branded stations and hubs, rather than maintaining a separate ad-driven network.

AT&T is directing more managers to relocate or face layoffs
- AT&T is consolidating 22 internal help-desk centers into six US locations, according to sources.
- The move comes after a memo from CEO John Stankey and an employee survey revealed falling engagement.
- The company has taken a similar approach to consolidation previously, as AT&T looks to cut legacy costs.

Same ol same ol from Clueless Chuckles and Fake Franny
“I don’t want to get rid of a bunch of people right now,” Robbins told CNBC last week, stressing that AI was meant to boost productivity, not reduce headcount. “I just want our engineers that we have today to innovate faster and be more productive. That gives us a competitive advantage.”
TECH
Silicon Valley tech giants to cut hundreds of Bay Area jobs AGAIN!!!
Layoffs are definitely over - for now?
These past few days have been incredibly tough. We could all use a breather.
Finally free
I was so burnt out I dreaded coming into the office every day. Today, I got laid off and it feels like winning the lottery. I know finding a new job might be tough, but this was long overdue. It’s better for both me and Wells Fargo that we part ways. Sometimes the push you didn’t ask for is the one you needed.
Did they put any thought into the layoff selections?
There doesn’t seem to have been any strategic assessment of ongoing projects or team structures. My team is literally falling apart, and it's only going to get worse. We've lost people who were critical to anything beyond routine backend tasks. What’s the point of such crude cuts? It feels like they’re more likely to create long-term problems than solve anything.

Got the call last week.
ive been here since STK. been working from home the last 5 years. Hardware service calls have dropped a ton. Took a service call Maybe once per month. Was planning on retiring at the end of the year. Mad as he-l that they picked me off. BUT if I left at the end of the year, i would have walked away without severance. This way I got the package. I wanted to leave on my own terms. Still Mad!!!
Sperry Northbelt Layoffs
Some very senior managers laid off and are now looking for work as "engineers." Damn, those id--ts don't know the first thing about engineering. They've been milking the system for years. Best of luck finding a job, I suggest applying at McDonald's. Actually, lets not insult MacDonald's.
Layoffs
Not sure how deep these are, but just heard a Mgr & couple of regional guys got axed yesterday & today. Yet again slt saying "not for the foreseeable future" is more bs.
Promotion and a Raise
When I got laid off from L3Harris, I was devastated. I am a hard worker and I did not deserve what happened to me. I did not know how I was going to support my wife and children (and I know that L3Harris could not have cared less about them). Well, I found a new job that with a raise and a promotion, and I now work with people who respect and appreciate me.
Embrace "Change"
So from Cameron Bready's exhausting epilogue, the word counter on "change" was absurd. "Change" aka in HR word speak is re-orgs and layoffs.
Rumor/Reality - Layoffs
Could anyone share what is happening around layoffs?
Envision Group and Foodbuy layoffs
Envision group being gutted. Losing over 20 people and Foodbuy eliminating about 30. Most were long tenure associates with over 10 years of service with compensation over $120,000
I just got laid off from Honeywell. 77% of the layoffs were employees 40 or older.
In the severance document at the end, they list the job title and age of the employee who was riffed. 77% were age 40 and older. 23% were less than 40. If that isn't age discrimination on a massive scale, then what is? My role was given to another employee younger, but as experienced as I was. I was not let go for performance reasons. I'm angry and there is nothing in my discipline that I can find online making it even worse to find employment after all these years of service. They gave me almost no notice of the riff. I barely had time to say goodbye to many of my coworkers. I understand if I were old and not able to think, and not able perform my job, but that isn't and wasn't the case here.
Roughly 2% of the 102K employees (slightly less than 2K employees were riffed).
If each employee made roughly $100K (just an off the top average guess) and there were 2000 employees, the company stands to save $200M per year in direct salary costs alone. That figure doesn't include payroll taxes, health insurance premiums, 401K matching contributions which they sc--wed us on as well as they pay it out at the end of the year (and not prorated to my knowledge), they sc--wed me on vacation time that I didn't use earlier in the year to keep the project on track, nor the floater holidays that I didn't take early on but had scheduled my vacation later in the year. Also this doesn't include bonuses (which I didn't get anyway, same with stock options or other benefits. Thus in total I estimate the guys at the top saved closer to $250-280M annually. I guess greed is good for the guys at the top.
Layoffs in Dallas. Engineering hit
There was a layoff in the Dallas office today. Not sure how many were affected or if more offices outside of Dallas were affected. Anyone hear anything else on this?
Here we gooooo!
Tomorrow is Termination Tuesday! Anyone have any deets on the targeted areas ?
GOA petrotechs
How are things for GOA petrotechs right now? What sort of cuts are they communicating and are they centralizing yall to houston like they did in S&T?
No Trust
Associates no longer trust leadership because of their random layoffs. Hopefully those who are still there will remember the dynamics when the next associate satisfaction survey comes out. The typical cycle happens in that the Site Leader will bring in a modest lunch to give the impression of associate appreciation before they drag everyone thru the dirt for the following 11 months. For those who stay long enough to feel like you're being loyal, consider all of the holiday seasons you miss out on before they lay you off
Does CA finally get axed?
He said he had to get axed before another mass layoff , delay of all hands screams of another big cut , or they are all so inept at managing that the are trying to rewrite the narrative ? Will the stock drop from a sell off as soon as the C suite opens their mouths again ?
Operations Risk
Anyone aware of layoffs in Operations Risk? I heard of some today but no real details.

Any updates on layoffs?
With more bad news about the company coming out, layoffs are starting to feel closer and more likely. The outgoing CEO did say a couple of weeks ago that they might become unavoidable. Wondering if anyone’s heard anything new.
Stock Price
Have you seen the L3Harris (LHX) stock price recently? It is taking off like a rocket. Those “adjustments” they made after the layoffs must have really paid off!!!!
Tough week ahead?
Based on what people have been reporting, it looks like there were more layoffs today. Does anyone know if these will continue throughout the week? Last week was already rough. Wishing everyone the best of luck.

Make the field remember
ER is swept under the rug for the field. The jargon makes it hard to remember that GPs, LPs and coworkers are being laid off. Some of us search it out, but most don’t see what is happening at all. MP dragged this out so that it does not seem like a big deal when it happens. Make sure you are remembered. Talk to the people in the field and tell them the sickening truth. Tell them about your fear, your anger, your exhaustion. Growth will be built upon your sacrifice, willing or not. Make sure they know. Be remembered.
21 folks got laid off August 12th
Hey all, I was among the 21 last week. I am so sad. HR told us we were going to be supported during our 60 day job hunt but they were no where to be found. I'm certain none of us had a chance to find a new role at Target. My team is talented, respected, and qualified for a lot of the open roles yet none of us could land anything. We HUSTLED in the 60 days. I personally applied to 16 different internal roles my skills would have made sense for and I got one interview which was amazing but I got rejected. Same story with 4 others on my team. I am convinced we never had a chance and it pi---s me off they led us on. Stupid i know but I didn't apply externally at all because I wanted to stay so badly. Lesson learned. 18 years with the company and no thank yous or I'm sorry from leadership. It stings but now I know how it is. I was so naive having grown up there.
GNAL
What the he-l is going on with GNAL?? Have a ton of people quit or been laid off or is this just due to the new system? It’s been terrible for the last 2 months and we have no connection with our teams to know what’s really happening. Are people being laid off?
KYC layoff
the warning posts were correct, had a HR meeting this morning for my whole team we were laid off, I don't know which other teams or lacations where affected but heard 75 total laid off in KYC our team is only 13 people.
