I’ve seen a few comments that finance is coming next on here. Any word on that?

Has anyone heard if a new selection event is scheduled for this December? Curious if any updates are circulating. I heard a rumor today.

Prepare yourself fellow Cengagers. Just when you thought the layoffs were over for the year - surprise! Get those resumes updated and expect the axe to fall again. The scent of cuts is in the air. The fun never ends! Cengage is bleeding talent by the boatload and the hacks in charge don't care. Slash slash slash! It's a rush to the bottom. It's the Cengage way. IYKYK. What lies ahead is worse than anything Freddie, Michael, Jason, Chucky and Pennywise can do. The Hannibal Lecters at the top have no remorse in making the company worse by the minute. Keep cutting the workforce and no one knowledgeable will be left to run the store. Gross dereliction of duty anyone? Shouldn't sales be better this time of year? Are educational institutions losing confidence in Cengage? Will Cengage even be around in the future to honor existing paid digital product fulfillment?
Artificial Intelligence could do a better job managing the company than those at the top because there is certainly no intelligence coming from these short sighted decisions. The competition doesn't have to do a thing when top leadership is destroying Cengage from within. It's like watching a train wreck in person. Great job! IPO anyone? Nobody is going to buy a sinking ship. Strap yourselves in and grab the popcorn folks. It's going to be a bumpy ride!

Has Anyone heard any update layoffs on CEGBU and Aconex in ANZ?

Failed at maximizing stock price and layoffs…yes layoffs, his team, working with consultants, made the recommendations where and when to cut. And…sorry to say this…cuts were not deep enough. Expect 5-10k more in the coming months. Peace out.

During the last layoff, there was talk of a potential October follow-up wave. Anyone heard anything?

I was one of the many coffee badgers when they switched the reporting metrics back in march to IP connections. I’m super worried about this putting me in the queue for a layoff. Anyone in management know how they’re handling those numbers (Jan-march 2026) for reviews, reductions etc?

All the major tailings projects and others are well are being pushed to be completed by mid 2027. Also, it's a lot of cost to move the control room to Edmonton due to fiber cost and they haven't even started it yet. This is very clear that the want to sell the asset.

Just wondering what's the plan once they sell the asset will the employees who moved to Edmonton be laid off? as the new company possibly CNRL or Suncor employees will handle the upstream asset.

A few weeks back I posted about recognizing a few Advent guys in the SJ office (and no they weren’t hanging out in the lobby). My post was taken down because I mentioned names. I don’t think they are done trying to buy us. Time will tell.

Does anyone on the inside know when the next round of layoffs will occur? I know it's constant but it's not every month. I know it's soon and this side of Christmas but does anyone know when?

Gates up? I feel something is up. Not sure what, but something is up. Any ideas?

I’ve heard two people suggest another RIF will occur. Curious bit anyone else has heard anything. One person mentioned December.

Based on last year pattern it could be Sep14th for US

Just saw layoff codes via IT back in mid August and then multiple the last couple days. So the 30 to 45 day time frame was set into motion again like the last couple big layoffs going back to November 2025 is in play. I know Senior Leadership is meeting in-person this week. So timing for everything makes sense, Sr. Leaders are mapping out lists and numbers based on HR cuts this week. This gives them an overview of the current and future state, also allows for possible substitutions if they want to keep someone. Another red flag was an email saying don't talk outside VZ, this makes it obvious something is coming soon.

Was told they’re updating job titles to what you are actually doing if you’re listed as clerk. And they said they may be going after clerks now. Anyone know how true this is?

Reading that layoffs may be taking place in 6 weeks in other threads in GRM. Has anyone else heard this? Any indication of numbers, ORGs or locations?

I’ve heard a handful of people in the different offices were already let go, and the NZ office is gone now. Is this a trickle effect? Wondering how far we have to wait for the other shoe to drop.

I'd ask if they're done for the year, but I'm not that naive.

Another layoff day today to start off the month but so far it's been quiet. Anyone hearing a big wave coming later in September/October? I've heard whispers that certain groups will be impacted in Q4. Let's wait and see.

Just heard it is possibly happening in Palm Bay/Melbourne. Does anyone know anything?
