How is a developer at this company supposed to pivot elsewhere?

I got this job out of college a few years ago and every time someone tells me to jump ship and so on I'm met with the reality that my skills and knowledge have either remained stagnant or actually gotten worse with this company. Combine that with programing in C and I feel like I've been left holding the bag. I need options here before I somehow find myself replaced by an Indian despite being told "Your work is proprietary and cannot be done by offshore employees," as if that's stopped PHI being leaked and exposed for the past several months or turning entire teams into being contractors for Tech Mahindra.

When is GCC opening in India?

With ongoing workforce reductions and increasingly restrictive H1B policies, a natural question arises: is the new ECIO considering establishing a Global Capability Center (GCC)?

From a purely economic standpoint, the math is compelling —sometimes hiring three skilled professionals for the cost of one H1B employee in the U.S., or five professionals when compared to a US citizen.

In today’s environment, expanding through a GCC isn’t just a trend—it’s a logical evolution. After all, the numbers will speak for themselves.

CIO Consumer

Any chance that India or the Philippines could keep Kerrins while she executes her global cheerleading tour? Many I believe would agree that AI could replace her role and save millions . Or a lower paid CIO in India could do the job since much of it is done in India and the person would be smarter.

30000 is OverHype. Here is the Rough estimate. Not sure on Timeframe

Estimate is around 8500 in count. (Max 12000 if more layoffs in India)

USA - 2,800 people to 3200
India - 4200 - 6500 (Expecting more cuts)
Europe - 1000 to 1500 max

More will be in Software dev and support : 5000+ counts expected (Middleware, DB, ...)
OCI will be saved with minimal layoffs <1000

Seems the 30000 layoff is not immediate and it will be over long term. Seems the estimate was done by the firm for long-term analysis and not for this year and the estimate was purely based on funding to the future commitments.

Basically Senior Management with mostly India team with non-revenue workloads beware . You will be major targets. !00% you can start searching new jobs.

Layoffs in India?

I joined last year only and love this company and people but I found this website. Here people are talking about the layoffs happening soon and im worried becaus I just started. Who is also in India getting laid off? Thanks

Are there any CSC employees still left in the USA?

I worked for the CSC and got JE last year. I could tell it was coming because a lot of our work was being moved to India and they were lying to the employees about it. The customers started complaining because of the language barrier and general lack of knowledge of these overseas agents. Does anyone knows the current status of the CSC? Are there any employees still left in the USA or is it entirely in India now?

Evernorth Health Services Jobs - US/Worldwide

Evernorth Health Services jobs posted on LinkedIn, United States has 72 jobs, India has 182 jobs, and worldwide has 254 jobs. India takes over 70% of jobs. Undeniably, Evernorth Health Services is an India company that provides healthcare services for USA market. In coming days it might spinoff from Cigna, and pay a few remaining US workers in rupees.

India Test Org

The current leadership style in the testing team is creating a lot of mental pressure. It is pure command and control—forcing people to sit in the office without any focus on output. Forcing people to come to office while other teams have a great culture of motivating them to come. I have worked for 2 organization and never saw this kind of leaders. There are few companies like wipro, tcs which we heard off, but not in any product development companies focusing on the innovation

Innovation is zero; we are following the same old processes from decades ago which is what I heard from my seniors. Worst of all, the Lead’s personal closeness with HR ensures that no one can speak up, Indian have always been shy to compliant on any of the things and we don't care of anything apart from the office things.

This culture of forcing instead of leading is ki-ling the team's morale.

Current composition of WF workforce and what to look froward to…

I’m trying to figure out how currently WF workforce is split. In December total employees count was about 216000. In January it is already 210000. I wonder what is a percentage US vs India &Co?

The other question is what’s the ration (pay wise). US vs India? It used to be 1:4 but I believe that offshore pays went up.

Final question, now that 2025 numbers were communicated to masses, how many resignations there will be after pay on 2/13 ( true ones not the ones from keyboard warriors)?

NIPAH VIRUS OUTBREAK

Why are we not hearing about this from CVX health & medical, particularly since there is so much travel to and from India in our employee and contractor population?

What is the company doing about curtailing or cancelling altogether travel? This is how it started with the previous pandemic, and this virus has a very high mortality rate.

Please respond, Chevron.

Nike Tech expands India office

Global sportswear giant Nike has expanded its presence in India by leasing 126,000 sq ft of premium office space in the Olympia Building at Bagmane Tech Park, Bengaluru. This strategic move highlights Nike’s commitment to strengthening its corporate operations in one of India’s most competitive commercial real estate markets.

Bagmane Tech Park, located in C V Raman Nagar, is a leading business hub hosting multinational technology firms, consumer brands, and professional service providers. Nike’s new leased space allows the company to access top talent and modern office infrastructure, aligning with the growing demand for large, contiguous office spaces in Bengaluru.

While lease terms and financials remain undisclosed, the acquisition signals Nike’s long-term commitment to India’s growing market. Bengaluru continues to attract multinational companies seeking Grade A commercial properties, ideal for regional offices, technology teams, and operational hubs.

This transaction is comparable to prominent Bengaluru real estate projects such as Sobha Galera in Kannamangala and Prestige Evergreen in Whitefield, which have drawn attention for their prime locations and modern amenities. Nike’s lease also mirrors the trend of investing in pre-launch projects, where corporates secure high-quality office and commercial spaces ahead of market competition.

By taking this step, Nike reinforces Bengaluru’s position as a preferred destination for global expansions, emphasizing the city’s role as a hub for talent, innovation, and corporate growth. The move also strengthens the appeal of business parks like Bagmane Tech Park, which continues to attract multinational tenants seeking premium infrastructure and connectivity.

Management policy changes

The company decided to pause their AI push, as the low hanging fruit has been harvested, and further adoption requires substantial investment and training. To decrease costs, they now aim to reduce the number of MDs by delegating their work to VPs, reduce the number of VPs by delegating their work to AVPs, and to reduce the number of FTEs in India to Indian contractors.

And Again the Layoffs Occur

This company is in a constant state of laying people off. Shipping jobs now to India. That will evidently solve all of their problems.
Nice job in giving jobs to another country. You sure your customers will be ok with that especially knowing your pal is the one you’re doing business with? Conflict of interest I would say.
We know what is going on and what goes around comes around.

WFR and Jobs Moving to India – Manager Said “Use AI and Low Cost Region Labor“

My manager recently said, “Reducing costs and improving efficienc; Use AI and low-cost region labor (per stakeholders).”
So AI hasn’t been able to replace the work we do, yet apparently moving the role to a low-cost region is now being treated as the “solution.”
