And there it is, buckle up for this 24 month wild ride.

I’ll sum the email up for you quickly:

“You American employees are too expensive and we need to make the stock price go up, we’re going to be spending the next 24 months laying off as many of you as possible to be replaced with AI and/or cheap India labor”

I appreciate the heads up, but a 2 year timeline is crazy.

H1

The disproportionate presence of Indian leaders hiring and promoting mostly Indian H1-B candidates speaking their language into SVP and other VP roles in Tampa raises concerns about favoritism and closed networks. When leadership pipelines lack balance - opportunities for other equally qualified professionals are very limited.

Pension

Per my contract I’m fully invested being with Cisco 5 years, so I’m not worried if I get laid off since I will get pension the rest of my life. The question I have, when I go back home will they deposit my monthly payment in my India bank?

Outsourcing the laid off talent from august?

Seems to me like they posted a bunch of engineer 3 and higher roles all for hyderabad/bangalore. Didn't we just lay off a bunch of those roles in August from Seattle? What a coincidence!

India GCC’s confirmed with 5k hiring expected

https://www.communicationstoday.co.in/us-bancorp-taps-tcs-wipro-cognizant-ansr-for-india-gcc-mandate/

Bank has kept this hushed but India’s media has let this cat out of the bag on Friday. I’m sure this post will get deleted soon but I’ll be back to make another one.

Per the news media, USB plans to open 2 Global Capability Centers (GCC) in India. The Hyderabad location will be built and owned by the bank itself while the Chennai location goes through vendors (Cognizant, TCS etc.) Overall hiring is expected at 3-5000 employees.

Say hello to Bank of India!

India ....no promotion for G6s

I have been told that i need to have minimum 15+ years experience to move to G7 in India .Is this normal ?

This leadership group's most detrimental practice is the systematic sidelining of high performers. Governed by an implicit anti-meritocratic stance, their chief aim is self-preservation. They intentionally install a layer of middling and compliant managers beneath them. This creates a buffer that prevents truly talented individuals from advancing to levels where they might question authority, reveal strategic shortcomings, or disrupt the status quo. Having reached the later stages of their careers, their focus has narrowed to preserving their lucrative positions and titles with minimal exertion, effectively treating their roles as comfortable sinecures.

And, here you have it now...

LTIMindtree, one of India’s leading IT and digital services firms, will stop filing new H-1B visa applications going forward, according to a report by Moneycontrol.

The company’s CEO, Venugopal Lambu (Venu), said the organisation will now focus on hiring more local talent in overseas markets.

Lambu’s announcement comes at a time when the United States is witnessing intense debate over the H-1B “specialty occupation” visa category.

The Trump administration also introduced a blanket fee of 100,000 dollars for new H-1B filings through a proclamation issued in September.

For years, MAGA-aligned politicians and their supporters have argued that major tech companies rely too heavily on foreign workers instead of hiring Americans. Many critics have even labelled the current visa system a “fraud” or “scam.”

Lambu clarified that LTIMindtree’s new policy applies only to fresh petitions under the upcoming H-1B lottery cycle.

Renewals for existing employees will continue unchanged, mirroring the way Trump’s new 100,000 dollar fee applies only to new applications. This strongly indicates that the steep fee played a major role in the company’s decision.

He added that LTIMindtree may reconsider its stance if U.S. regulations change in the future.

How Many H-1B Employees Does LTIMindtree Have?

Lambu told Moneycontrol that the company currently employs around 4,000 H-1B workers in the U.S., out of a global workforce of more than 86,000.

He noted that LTIMindtree has already reduced its dependency on the visa category and built systems to support onsite hiring.

Looking ahead, Lambu stressed the importance of hiring locally to control costs and improve profitability.

He pointed out that the company generated 64 million dollars in additional revenue in the first half of FY26, even as its net headcount decreased.

Outlining LTIMindtree’s long-term vision, Lambu said the company aims to grow revenue without proportionally increasing staff numbers.

“If we are growing 2X over the next five years, the headcount should grow only about 1.2X to 1.3X,” he told Moneycontrol.

Argentina vs. India

I'm genuinely wondering, our work is continuously outsourced to many countries with the bulk being to Argentina AND India, but India seems to bear most of the brunt and hate comments. Is it legit because Argentina does a better job than India? Or people just don't like Indians for variety other reasons?

Indian office benefits >> US Office Benefits

Chevron India is offering their people 2x days a week in the office. I just heard that they plan to keep these, even as US Payroll are being forced to work 4x days a week in office.

So much for "better together"

... personally, if the I'm going to write to Management to try and get India 4x days in office too (including Monday). Fair is fair

The BA takeover of Tax is complete and model for rest of corp

Tax management is ruthless. The income tax group used to be where a new hire can enter into the company and advance. Then they migrated work to BA. Then they brought over people from BA for jobs limiting opportunities for US employees. Those brought in from BA then become managers and protected their own in rankings. All the new hires brought in have quit or been PIPd.

Think about that. This BA Management klan ran off all their new hires. They are either terrible at identifying talent, terrible at developing people, or clearly bias in their assessment as the only people that remain are their friends.

It’s happening all over. Look at the announcements and the amount of jobs coming to the US. They aren’t developing US employees, they are developing GBC as a priority and will follow the same pattern of protecting their own. The manager that brought over the person from GBC won’t admit their mistake so they are protected and become managers eventually. They need to show GBC that opportunities really exist to get out of India or Argentina or Brazil.

If you are US employee you are at a huge disadvantage. This company doesn’t want you and doesn’t care about you. When you’re working late covering your incompetent management, remember that. Log off and go enjoy your life. Don’t worry about getting a low ranking for choosing not to work late, you were going to get a low ranking anyways. And if you weren’t, the salary increment isn’t worth it and the future career opportunities aren’t there.

Ex-U.S. congressman alleges H-1B visa fraud in India

Ohhhhhh .You’ve done it again.

former Rep. Dave Brat alleges large-scale H-1B visa fraud linked to India.
Claims Chennai consulate issued 220,000 visas, far above the 85,000 cap.
Former U.S. diplomat reported forged documents, political pressure at same consulate...........................................................

So when is the new PayPal exec announced that will replace Shankar?

It seems odd that the other PayPal execs are around already, but Shankar is still not replaced. I mean, he's not doing any work, not showing up for anything, not talking to his teams, not setting a strategy or a direction or anything. So clearly HE knows he's out (fingers crossed that the rest of his posse are out as well.. first of all Vivek and his reports) But still, it would be nice to know which PayPal guy will oversee the next shift of 10+k jobs to India / contractors...

Full of incompetent Tech VP Managers from Indian Consultancies

Been with the firm in CCB for about 3 years now, This place is full of Indian VP Managers who don't know anything, they are basically project managers updating status in Excel sheets and working as Engineering leads or Managers. They are mostly all full time switch overs from Indian Consulting firms.

UFest India

My experience at the Fidelity India UFest was a complete letdown. The event was chaotic and demeaning, making attendees feel like a herd of animals. The leadership session only made things worse, revealing a clear disconnect and a lack of operational knowledge. It's a shame, as I joined through the LEAP program with high expectations, but this has completely changed my view of the company's culture.

VBG has been gutted

Over a couple years ago, Verizon leadership sent 3500 Verizon employees to HCL. HCL has let go 99% of them. Customers are leaving because they don’t want to deal with India, or the incompetence of HCL. I hope Gina, Kyle and the rest of the complacent leadership gets booted. I know they will cut more of the business unit. To best of luck to those have been through a lot since MCI.
