It's dawned on me that during the hiring process, with its flurry of emails and documents going back-and-forth, I didn't get a signed copy of my contract back from OT. (Obviously, OT isn't foolish enough to add a copy to employee profiles in TC.)

It draws me to wonder how many other people are in the same position--"somehow" the final copy of your contract never made it back to you.

No respect. TRAIN your own people & GET RID of the idle Middle Managers that know nothing & hire the consultants.

Has anyone heard about how the negotiations are going. Contract expires in June. How have past negotiations with other unions at enbrige get handled?

Just heard from a colleague, that some of the stores that were divested in the last year are underperforming from a contractual standpoint, specifically BeMobiles in the northeast (was called out specifically, apparently they haven’t been able to prove that they can scale with their business model) and that at the end of the year the 1 year contracts they signed on with are being looked at. Sounds like Cellular Sales and TCC are front runners to take over most locations in northeast.

What happens with CWs who have like 6 months left on contract? My understanding is that contracts are more or less pre paid to the contracting firm so how would this work…?

I don’t know any electricians at any other major shops so I decided to reach out here. I don’t know how things are at your shop but the opinion at my shop is that we aren’t getting any union support at all. The IBEW has been nothing but crickets for ten years now and we don’t have anyone to enforce our contract with the railroad. Jeremy says jump and the union asks how high? Our local management just does whatever they want and we don’t have anyone willing to hold them to the agreement. I wonder if any of you other locals have considered joining together and firing our current union so we can find someone who would represent us against the railroad? We have the right to leave three years after a signed contract and maybe it’s time we shopped around and found a union who does more then collect our dues and send us a newspaper that doesn’t apply to us at all. Maybe things won’t change with a new union but I think it’s worth a try. At least we could put the IBEW on notice to let them know to start representing us or go leach off someone else.

I know it’s d-mb and prob a big oh waste of time thinking this but since we the ones who took the VSP thinking our separation date would be Sept 2026 and now some of us are not getting that date is this or can it be classified as a breech? I just read Jones’ backstabbing lp proposal for B shares has been approved. Anyone owning A shares will be stomped on and buried. I believe they want all of you to transfer to B so Jones won’t be locked in to the guaranteed 7.5% and whatever profits that may be included when they sell the firm. Switch over to B shares and see income dwindle over a few years. Did you hear new LPs won’t have to pay for there buy-in. I have. Please confirm.
