“Q&A: Ford CEO talks about falling in love with plant visits”
When headlines like this appear in the Detroit newspapers, written from Ford press releases by lazy “reporters,” two things are imminent: bad earnings reports and layoffs.
The good ones are gone
It seems like they've systematically removed anyone who actually knew what they were doing. The decent managers are all gone now.
Unbelievable. Change your name but not it stripes
How do any managers in this clown show have a job?. Now, I understand why managers who left had to crawl back. Cyclone of incompetence.

TPI Third Party International/COO. Do NOT WORK here
Lots of inequity.
Let's face it
The last guy who actually knew what he was doing was Ivan Seidenberg. I know some of the current management doesn't like him either because he ki-led the pension, but at least he actually knew the nuts and bolts of the business and legitimately wanted us to have the best cell phone and fiber optic network. All downhill after that. Lack of knowledge, lack of regulation, while at the same time the executive compensation took off like rocket ship. Damn shame. good luck to all.
I Feel Bad
In protest of our atrocious leadership and most recent layoffs, I donated all of my CDW apparel to the homeless in my area. Now I feel really terrible about it. Not about giving away company swag. No obviously not. I feel bad that these poor people are now walking around with a logo of a company on their chest that’s straight trash.
BAIN, if you're listening...
Good move on Travis V. He was obvious, d-mb as dirt.
However, you need to do the same for the rest of the clowns in ISG - Directors, VPs, SVPs. A couple are okay but most have no business doing what they're getting paid to do. Just look at their track records. Their failed records speak loud and clear who should hit the bricks.
How Dell managed to bring in so many incompetent dipshiiiits in high ranking positions is a mystery.
At Boeing let’s name all the shitHole department to avoid
At Boeing let’s name all the shitHole department to avoid!
ISG, what did we expect when ...
- We no longer innovate ...
- We can't develop a single complete feature in less than 3 - 5 years ...
- We don't follow any process ...
- We have leaders who don't even understand best practice processes ...
- We have leaders who refuse process ...
- We can't hit a deadline or deliverable if our lives depended on it ...
- We've had to endure shiiiiity, incompetent, inexperienced fake leadership for years ...
- We use some of the worst tools in the industry ...
- We don't hold people accountable for failed projects ...
- We are years and years behind the competition ...
- We are laughed at by the competition ...
- We are laughed at by our customers ...
- We don't have seasoned Enterprise Software Engineers ...
- We don't have seasoned Enterprise Product Managers ...
- We don't have seasoned Enterprise Project Managers ...
- We don't have seasoned Enterprise UI/UX Designers ...
- We don't have seasoned Enterprise Q/A Managers ...
- Our Quality Control is in the toilet ...
- And the worst of all, our AI hype and spin is a lie and the market know it ...
Management chain all lives 2.5 hours away from office?
Anyone else on a “hybrid” team where their entire management chains lives 2.5 hours or more from the office? my management chain is cheating the company- they dont like commuting so they show up around 10am, leave at 2pm, and barely do anything. how is this allowed? when will HR fire people like this? my director joins meetings from recreational events and encourages us all to cheat Verizon. basically if we dont tell on him- he wont tell on us. somewhat new to the company and the behavior of leaders here is atrocious. my AD is similar. he always takes off friday
Cencora's layoffs should be a national story
Cencora's layoffs should be a national story—not because layoffs are unusual, but because of the contrast between how employees and executives are being treated.
While employees who spent years, and in many cases decades, helping build this company are losing their livelihoods, the CEO's compensation was reported at approximately $18 million. Senior executives and vice presidents continue to earn enormous salaries and bonuses while rank-and-file employees are told that cuts are necessary.
Companies often speak about culture, values, and putting people first. Those words ring hollow when workers are shown the door while leadership continues to be rewarded at extraordinary levels. If the company truly believed that everyone should share in both success and hardship, the sacrifices would not fall almost exclusively on employees.
Other companies, such as IKEA, have built reputations for investing in their workforce and treating employees as long-term assets rather than costs to be reduced. Cencora appears to be moving in the opposite direction.
The message being sent is clear: when times are good, executives receive the rewards; when cost reductions are needed, employees absorb the consequences. Many of the people being laid off dedicated years of service to this company. They deserved better than to be treated as expendable while executive compensation continues to soar.
Bumped from @ez+1kvmc88bw for being on point.
The less you know, the further you go at Cisco
The people who rise through the ranks aren't the ones who know what they're doing. They're the ones who barely understand their own jobs. It would be funny to watch if it wasn't so infuriating. Competence isn't valued, ignorance and good a-s-kissing skills are.
A warning for anyone considering Chevron
I want to say something that might help someone avoid the mistake I made. I bought into all the hype about how great this company was, how it looked amazing on a resume, how lucky I was to be here. Friends and family reinforced that constantly. So despite years of bad management, a toxic environment, and watching good colleagues suffer the same fate, I stayed. I wasted so much time. If even one person reads this and decides to think twice before joining, then saying this was worth it.
Ford won't get better until we get rid of the people in charge
They're the source of all our problems. How much major damage do they have to cause before someone acts? They're the ones who need to lose their jobs.
IBMs professional job hoppers
I have been working in a mildly successful IBM product for the last 12 years. Some years ago my boss at the time warned me about something I am now experiencing first hand: Well connected higher ups work on the flashy IBM fad that almost always fail (block chain, cp4d, Watson health, Watsonx….) then a layoff happens, the base workers and the first line take most of the blow, and these professional bosses are parachuted into a more established product. It’s been 8 months since a big layoff impacted my team, the layoff came with new bosses, all of them from failed products. They know nothing about my product (and are not willing to learn), but keep making decisions that they are not (remotely) capable of understanding their consequences , they all came with big attitude and egos; always ready to hoard the travel opportunities and post in LinkedIn at every turn. They will surely sink the product and jump to the next one. Have you seen this as well?
Political and Toxic
Came to CDW from elite enterprise tech sales (Oracle, Gartner, Dell, AT&T) thinking the partner side would be a great pivot. It is easily the worst, most disorganized company I’ve ever seen. Complete political mess, overworked staff, underpaid talent, and zero actual care for the client.
They wanted my C-level global accounts, but every time I opened a door, CDW failed to execute. I was constantly apologizing to clients, trying to force a transactional CDW box-checker brand into spaces handled by Accenture, Deloitte, and Wipro. The capability just isn't there.
Also, I started seeing some of our greatest talent walk out the door. One office had 7 Client Executives walk out the door in one day!
They ended up cutting me and keeping an inside AM who was just promoted to CE. Good luck maintaining an executive position in these accounts! (Been with CDW for 10 years as an inside AM)
My manager was new to corporate accounts and you could hear him turning the pages to his “How to be a CDW Manager binder”… LOL He wanted to surround himself with reps that don’t intimidate him.
Getting released from this place is the first time I’ve been able to breathe in months. The relief is real. If you have a solid enterprise background, don't waste your time or risk your reputation here.
ATT. No Innovation, No Talent, No Vision
Horrible Workplace.
Exec Management Openly Despises it's employee base.
Lunatic for CEO who is Hammer/Nail pounder from bygone era.
Horrible investment.
Missed the boat on so many things and got taken to the cleaners by countless players and then ridiculed by anyone with a smidge of business sense.
Think about what could have been but the SBC ATT leadership culture and their hubris couldn't get past hammer/nail mentality.
Meeting Hero/ Work Zero Coworker
I need advice on how to deal with a certain type of coworker. There’s a guy on my team who talks a lot in meetings and always volunteers easy solutions to every problem that comes up. But after the meeting, he’s nowhere to be found. None of his “solutions” actually materialize, and there’s no real follow-through on anything he says. It seems he’s 100% focused on creating the perception that he’s the solution guy, the smartest one in the room, the one who has it handled, but in practice he’s not even close to that. Basically, he’s a meeting hero / work zero. The frustrating part is that management hears him in these meetings and happily believes he’s actually taking care of things, masterminding solutions for everyone, while doing absolutely nothing when management is not in room. Has anyone else worked with someone like this? How do you deal with all the showboating without getting irritated? Has anyone seen these types ever get the karmic justice they deserve or do they just keep getting away with it forever.
I'll be celebrating the 4th of July without a job
I hate this leadership and I hate this fu--ing company. Thanks for nothing.
P-m is a flop and Mckinse.. sold us a strategy for failure.
Post everywhere and advertise to the world so its known what a miserable state of affairs this turned out to be. destroyed lives, business and any hope that things will get better.
In case you haven’t figured it out yet
Humana, in case you haven’t figured it out yet, we do not like you.
If you would simply recognize those very bad middle level leaders in Associate Director and Director roles that pushed out some of us extremely good employees and fire those bad leaders, then maybe we would stop filing lawsuits against you, and stop bad mouthing you to the press and general public.
Get rid of those je-ks, those bad leaders, and we will relent. Make sure somehow it gets back to is when it is done. Thank you.
Uncon. Run by the best leadership
Proud to be in Uncon. Working for the best, corrupt, useless leadership. All they care about is posting in LinkedIn how great they are. Seeing supervisors and managements treat their people like slaves day in / day out and wait for the ranking results … We all know a supervisor or manager; they really don’t do a sht daily. They look busy.
Randall’s ear to ear grin
Why is that whenever I search for Randal Stephenson he has an ear to ear grin? He has a very big smile and laugh for someone who cost the company over $100 billion. Maybe he lives a very comfortable life after making nearly millions in executive compensation. It makes me just sick inside whenever I see a picture of him. I don’t mind the massive business blunders but just don’t be walking around with the cheekiest grin.
On my way out! FK CSCO
Denied promotion once again.
Expectations of me growing higher and higher.
Doing great work and being praised for it, but because im not su-king off higher grades about sh-t I dont give a flying fu-k about, and not inserting myself in meetings unnecessarily, DENIED.
How does one start finding a job elsewhere ? I have 5 years of experience.
My interview skills have 10 layers of cobwebs and dust.
Fis leadership is a joke
One of my colleague and I was terminated on March and 30th June was the last date. I left fis today and my other colleague got in to some other team inside fis even the skills are not matching and the work isn't related at all. I am wondering how the hiring manager and the leadership approve such things to happen!! This is just terrible place.
The Illusion of Fairness
To those people who somehow benefited from this broken system and still call it totally fair: of course, it looks fair when you manipulate the system to get the outcome you want. Sitting in that room and assigning a rank to individuals is the very last step of the show management directed. Let’s break it down: you purposely put certain people on specific projects or tasks, you protect some individuals no matter what, and you advocate for the golden ones while someone with no membership in the cult works their a-s off and still gets nothing. God forbid not protected ones have had a tough year; does management apply the same compassion they apply to the golden ones? I doubt it.
My store is a joke
The management keeps promoting people who don't deserve it in any way and they prove how unqualified they are for their position within months. Does that change anything, though? No. I don't have to explain to you how that works out for the rest of us. I hate this place.
Let's be honest - none of us care about Verizon
Seeing how the company has treated our peers that were let go, I can honestly say that I do not care about Verizon and I am at the Director level. Knowing I could be let go at any minute I encourage my teams to be just as indifferent as I am as they could be gone tomorrow too. We are all just here couting our days and cashing our checks while doing the bare minimum until it is our turn. This is the monster Verizon has created which is the vicious cycle that has led to the failure that Verizon is today.
My three biggest issues with Oracle
People who take credit for things I did and then getting promoted based on it, managers who keep making false promises but never actually delivering on them, and cowardly managers who never bother to stand up for their people. I know for a fact this is not just my experience and the fact that it's happening to plenty others shows there's something deeply wrong with this place.
goodbye Dell
Got laid off last week after 10 years of work.
My manager joined the regular 1x1 on Tuesday and started reading "the script" . After that, crickets.
My VP, with whom I worked for a number of years, didn't even acknowledge me. So much for all the late night calls and weekend escalations. Not even a private reply to a goodbye email. Meh.
Help
Does any manager regret promotion someone capable but does not sit well with general team (70-80% of the team)?
Asking because everyone has been nice not to escalate things to HR historically but hearsay someone without ethics, morale, integrity is going to be promoted as a manager soon. We’re afraid of what’s to come because this person only manages up, spreads falsehood, rumours, manipulates by twisting words to different people privately. No doubt this person is capable and can do maybe 4-5 people’s work but the character is really dubious. Some teammates has actually left the team because of this one pax but current manager choose to ignore and continue promoting.
Rich Baich
Worst CISO ever. Spineless a-s who can’t stand for sh-t.
The WOW moment leaving
I used to like working at First Data for the most part. When frankserv took over it went downhill fast for both companies. There was constant frustration, ridiculous policies and mismanagement. I have been out of this place for a few months now. My wife commented how much I've changed for the good since leaving. She said I am back to being man she fell in love with. That was WOW moment!!!
Are managers trained to come off as je-ks?
The managers I’ve dealt with always sound condescending, micro managing, and pushing extra hours.
Are they trained like this? Cause they su-k
ATT: High turnover rate. ( Reddit )
ATT: High turnover rate. ( Reddit )
It genuinely makes me sad their turnover is high, especially at the authorized retail level. There’s so many things that don’t get taken into consideration when it comes to selling, such as demographics for one thing. Foot traffic alone doesn’t tell the whole story. I know someone who might lose their job bc they can’t meet the sales goals when they are brand new, 3 months in, and when they won’t scam customers, though others in the store will, by adding lines without consent. This person was so excited for this job, and they were also not told up front they would be fired if they didn’t meet goal after three months. They went into this job being told one thing, and it being something else. Now they are disillusioned. What a shame. I wonder how many really good employees have been lost bc of bad scheduling and these hard to reach metrics without scamming people.
https://www.reddit.com/r/ATT/comments/1ugbzh9/high_turnover_rate/
I also know someone in sales that can attest to the scamming CRAMMING and fraudulent sales tactics that ATT pressures and intimidates its sales employees to perpetuate in the unrelenting pursuit of false metrics and sales quotas. The SCAM is out in the open and ATT makes no attempt at hiding it.
CXO Team
What’s the word on that team? Full of ignorant fools who thinks very highly of themselves
Di-ks has disappointed so many on many levels
I’ve worked at Di-ks for 8 years and in that time the changes have been like a roller coaster !!!!
From firing of quality managers to replacing them with unqualified ones.
The workload is crazy they are not reasonable at all . When you do bring up issues that need to be taken care of , they yes you to death but do nothing .
They post a sign if you see something say something and when I did, nothing was done.
I’ve seen the stock in the midteens and when Covid hit, it was a perfect store for the environment. The stock went through the roof. This company is typical of other big corporations. They only care about the stockholders and their bottom line which on some levels I understand, but I think it has gone to their head. Upper management is just unrealistic..
Back room and the stockrooms are an accident waiting to happen and they do nothing about it. They employ younger people pay them less and go out of there way to not pay Benefits .
The psychological test that they have given the employees that have been working there are all a smoke screen to lower their overhead.
Cut salaries get rid of quality people all for the obvious reason $$$$$ sad really
They don’t Care about the employees at all … God forbid you were a handicap person and had to move your wheelchair in that store. My store was in Florida.
Somehow, they get away with not giving a handicap person enough space I thought it was a law. They just care about stuffing the store with as much merchandise as possible. I’m guessing the state looks the other way. Kind of ridiculous and sad.
The company is all smoking mirrors .
The only care about the customer because they spend money .
Getting back to something I said earlier, it’s a dangerous place to work and no matter what you say nothing‘s ever fixed so in the end I did get hurt. I also witnessed other people getting hurt.
When I was injured, the managers did not know what to do. Didn’t know anything about the paperwork or where to send me. I sat there for two hours and they didn’t know what they were doing in the end. They had to call other stores so with all the training that they give you and it’s a lot I believe all of that is done just to cover themselves for any liability, but they don’t bother to train the managers
I could go on and on about the things that are wrong with that company. I’ve seen it all, but I don’t think there’s enough space for me to put everything down that’s wrong with them. They bought footlocker because they had so much money supposedly because they wanted a European presence. Just not a place I would recommend to work looks good. They get all the kids to work there 18 to 22-year-olds because it’s a sports store. That’s a funny comment because it’s become a clothing and shoe store with the out of fringes of the store being sports and fishing. They recently because of the psychological test that almost nobody passed got rid of a guy that I believe opened the store originally high-quality individual who did anything. They asked them to left the sweat on the floor and how did they pay him back offer them a deduction and salary stay full-time or take a severance package it’s highly insulting and if they cared at all about the customer, that’s a guy that should still be working there he was very well liked by the customers. He was intelligent articulate and learned everything that he possibly could in that store yet he was just a number very sad. Di-k should be ashamed of themselves.
Lost two good people today
If they try to say this is about performance, it's bullsh-t. We lost two of our best, highest performing people. I don't know why and who made the decision, but it's more than obvious by what's been happening that we're being led by complete and utter id--ts.
This is so annoying
Does anybody else feel like the only task their managers have is to make our lives miserable? Never helping us but always there to add an unnecessary comment and complicate simple things. I honestly believe T would be a better place without the lot of them.
