Thread regarding PayPal layoffs

It’s obvious Enrique Lores is clueless

Each passing day reveals how out of touch and clueless the new CEO has become. I dread having to go a year or so under his leadership before the Board realizes another mistake and fires him while he walks away with $10’s of millions of dollars. Was this hiring some kind of way to steal hundreds of millions orchestrated by the Board. I think everyone was shocked when a guy who ran a printer company was appointed CEO. We’re moving at the speed of a printer company now. I have a lot of retirement money in stock and I hate checking the account because it’s less and less every day.

No way Stripe walked away. Also, there is no way Stripe can do an IPO at $150B with us only valued at $50B while making WAY MORE money. My guess is they come back with an offer in the $75-$80 a share range. If they wait too long we will already be at that price.

Only hope or chance for success is a buyout before he destroys what’s left. There is ZERO chance this guy can lead a successful transformation.

@aj They want out IMHO but miscalculated their market value. Company is worth a lot more but comes with a lot of headaches for most companies who could afford it.

I honestly have never worked for a company that had there share price decrease for 5 years and nobody seems to care. the BOD’s seems like they’re intentionally destroying the company at this point. Enrique was the worst choice possible.

We will see our company valuation cut in half that will double the layoffs. Competition will crush us.

It's pretty much all over for them. Focusing on so called core markets while virtually exiting so called non core markets like Spain, Canada, Ireland, Central and Eastern Europe implies you are leaving the field open to your competitors in all these markets while also facing intense competition from them in your core turf. Calling Spain as a light markets and leaving out Portugal when they are summer travel hubs attracting billions in travel payments is shocking. PP is an apt example of collapse which first happens slowly and then suddenly.
