I don’t know if I can handle this anymore. The closer to the new year the more stress I’m under. I have applied for jobs and haven’t even got a look at. The EAP isn’t helping…maybe it’s best to just end it
Kearl alone is 19% of ExxonMobil’s total proven reserve

Imperial’s Board of Directors Asleep at the Wheel Once Again

Here I'm watching coworkers-folks who've shared laughs, powered through the toughest shifts, and had each other's backs-getting shown the door in these layoffs. But here it is, an ex- Kearl supervisor out here hawking job postings overseas, begging... — read more
Useless Meetings Dec 9
What was the point of the meetings today? Nothing new shared. SVP one for downstream had a Q&A for entertainment. What were some of your favourite quotes? "A Canadian company by and for Canadians" is surely top 3 of the day
Any execs who like move to Edmonton?
Are there any Imperial executives who actually think a move to Edmonton is a great idea?
JW ... still in his bubble dreamland
Unbelievable - JW has become a laughing stock .... tone deaf and unrelatable to 99% of IOL staff across the board. Did y'all see his interview emailed - felt like a replay of his announcement on 30th Sep (exact same words too) - must be practicing... — read more

No to Relocation
Heard from 2 independent sources (i.e. Supervisor and above) now that the number of people not opting to relocate to Edmonton is much higher than what Management anticipated. It will be interesting to see how they handle this!!

Hope this is not, “Short term gain, at the price of long term gain.”
Staffing Committee meet last week
Does anyone know how the selection committee proceedings went for higher CLs last week? Are positions changing much?
Imperial Oil Stock at $139 CAD
I worked for IOL for close to 20 years, and I hardly ever saw the stock price touch $50 CAD. It was a bad idea to invest in IOL, so sold all my IOL stocks in RRSP. Bad decision!! But who knew this will happen!!
Any Statistics on how many have left since the big announcement
Hi, I work almost 100% from home now. So, very little interaction with folks in the QP office. Does any one know anyone who was let go since the big announcement? I haven’t heard of anyone getting fired or quitting in my close circle YET
IMO hits all time high in Canadian dollars

Market doesn’t like move to Edmonton
Stock market didn’t like today’s earnings, despite record upstream performance. Because a move to Edmonton, and its crazy write offs, which makes no business sense. Could have easily right sized the corp and stayed in Calgary.
