If you were selected for severance, is there a chance you could move into another role if it opened up, before your end date?

@OP I was HOPING for severance but I’m already at a site. Too bad there’s no trading ‘pool’ where we could switch places.

I think no one can answer with certainity, since nothing is final until it is final. But shouldn't you plan for the worst (aka assume you won't have a job offer from IOL).
Saw a lot of this type of questions recently, probably because it is close to end of January. But in reality, there is no real value except make yourself happy (or aka find someone to say something you want to hear).
Just start job searching !!!
If you haven't got an offer yet and aren't ready to retire, best to accelerate your job search efforts. Even if you do get a job offer, most of them are a dead end with no progression opportunities.

No. Any told severance will be severed.
Were you told you were in the “redeployment pool”, if so, there may be a chance (though likely slim). Otherwise, I’d say no, it would be highly unlikely.
