AD/D/Sr D/AVP Roles

What’s the difference between each role?
Some people are good, but the many people are creating friction at each step… satisfying egos and insecurities.

Simple.... they form a big circle and let VP sit first then all Directors sit to his right starting with AVP, then Sr Director, Director and to close out Circle the Assoc Director. At the count of 3 everone extends right arm and lowers and the circlej--kbegins. Translation zero value.

And don’t forget the Senior Manager role. We have one that just giggles on every call - no substance . Has done nothing to improve or make the department better. Comical and pathetic…..while we are managing large accounts and she’s done nothing in a year since taking over the department . The former Sr.Manager was terrific- she took The VSP.

This is a great question. I do not mean this as a way to imply that their jobs are not necessary, but the fact that most employees have no idea what these leaders actually do, aside from traveling around and posting stuff, is a shame. There was a time when I knew very clearly what my director did. That helped me to better understand our priorities. A power point slide every year with a list of our priorities for the year is always so vague. When your leaders are in the trenches with you and really sharing, that is when the magic happens and our customers are delighted. I remember what it was like to have delighted customers, and I miss it.

@OP Most are on calls repeating the same thing. "I don't, what should we do" after 30 min of that, then. Maybe I need to run this by the next level up just to have another 30 minute call and start the process all over again.
