My calendar is a joke
Five meetings in one day and I still have actual work that needs to get done. And once they start, everyone looks bored, including the people who scheduled them. We've lost the plot, folks.
It's hard to build a career here
I came here five years ago expecting to build some useful experience and move forward. Instead, I've spent a lot of time doing repetitive work with systems that feel years behind where the industry is headed. The hours are long and the pressure is constant, but there's very little sense that you're building toward something. Raises are abysmal and don't really make up for the rising cost of living. Promotions are limited, and sometimes it feels as though there isn't even a path to develop into something different. Management doesn't exactly make the situation easier. After enough time doing the same tasks, you start worrying about your skills becoming outdated too. That's probably what bothers me most. It's one thing to work hard for a while when you know you're gaining something from it, and it's another thing to feel exhausted and stuck at the same time.
Results don't seem to protect anyone
You can have a strong record here and still find yourself on the wrong side of management. It seems far more important to stay in someone's good graces than to actually do good work.
Nothing to brag about anymore
There was a time when I would've defended this place without thinking twice. These days, I keep wondering what happened to the standards we used to have. So many decisions are difficult to understand that it's getting harder to take any pride in the place. I don't know how much longer this can continue.
Vision 2030
Vision 2030 was supposed to be the Vision to be the best dsd company is what they said! Well how can we be the BEST when all we do is cut labor, cut service and cut deliveries oh and we can't hire anyone!!! Vision 2030 is Vision to be OUT of dsd. Mark my words. This company has been nothing but going down hill and the Mo--ns we have running this company only care about the shareholders and not the people that work for the company. Sad to see such a great company to work for go to sh-t!!!
adidas in GGN
Looks like we aren’t a “family” anymore. The dreaded day finally arrived.
Morale meter
Thumbs up if you're feeling confident / satisfied or just positive about your current job/RnRs / work-life balance
Thumbs down if you're worried about losing your job/ reorg / politics / burnout / or just feeling unmotivated.
Facing layoffs and 10%
I wonder if leadership understands the position they’ve put employees in now that we are facing the possibility of being laid off AND cut for being in the bottom 10%. Being laid off means it’s not due to your performance - your role just doesn’t exist anymore. Being let go in the bottom 10% “could” mean you’re a good performer on a high performing team. Just think about that. There are good hardworking people who create value for the company facing TWO possible ways of being unemployed. Really cr-ppy.
I know this is redundant, but people have really lost it here at Xerox
Everyone is so on edge lately and it’s honestly becoming exhausting to be around. Every little thing turns into a complaint or a conversation about how bad things are, how they can’t get their work done, how they don’t have what they need, how leadership is doing this or that
And I get it. People are worried. There’s a lot of uncertainty and nobody really knows what’s coming next. But at the same time, we still have jobs to do. It’s getting to the point where people are complaining about not being able to do their jobs while also spending half their time complaining about everything going on.
You can literally feel the anxiety in every meeting. Someone mentions a change or sends an email and suddenly everyone is trying to figure out what it something means
I’m not saying people shouldn’t be concerned, because obviously there are legitimate reasons to be but the constant doom and complaining is getting really old. It’s making an already stressful situation even more miserable
Culture Survey
Reminder: the only metric they will listen to is not filling out the survey. We tried tanking the survey with low “My company cares about my well being” scores. Only to be subjected to a year of gaslighting and telling us, it is because we don’t know enough about our benefits, as if we all just forgot about them when RTO hit. Most lower levels of management hate RTO and having to talk about it every team meeting. At some point in the leadership chain they start to care more about their career then their employees wellbeing and simply to refuse to push back against Stankbutt. Maybe once we let them know how checked out this workforce is, they will start to tell the emperor he isn’t wearing clothes.
Corporates is in terrible shape, will it survive?
Awful sales, bad morale.
The Layoffs are a signal of upper management hiring glut
The tremendous weight of very high paid upper management added to the company in the last year has added so much to expense that the only alternative is to cut a few thousand people who actually do the work. You can count the new SVPs and higher. Mike, Dhyvia, and Takis all a part of adding to the glut. Unfortunate but continuously repeated leadership mistake in some companies. Starts with a justifying rally cry for transformation. Leadership uses it to hire all new and unnecessary, high paid execs. Those execs become significant expense, but have added nothing in the way of revenue improvement or efficiency gains. As usual the middle management and working ranks of the company carry the majority of the execution burden in the company through all of this. The only answer is to cut deep in those ranks along with a few senior execs to get on better labor expense footing. People become demoralized, and the main result is a less productive company that still has all the new top level management to carry. In a normal company, some level of layoff or cut should be expected and predictable yearly based on performance management effectiveness and as a result of business performance cycles. This isn't that. This is mismanagement and shows that we are still paying for past and current poor decisions by people at the helm here. They just don’t think we are smart enough to actually figure that out.
I don't know how we got here
I used to feel good telling people where I worked. Now I find myself avoiding the subject because I'm embarrassed by what this place has become.
Town Hall - They are insane
The very fact that they are holding a Townhall today is completely tone deaf, but if you are able to listen to it, what a terrible attempt at a cheerleading session this is, it actually makes me sick to my stomach.
VZI "leaders" are so full of it
I havent had a team meeting or skip level in the last 3 months while being told to work 12 hours a day coz "Business team wants something urgently".
But suddenly I have 3 different meeting invites this week to "Go through the Pulse questions".
Absolutely pathetic people are the so called "leaders". Shame on you. I wish they get axed first. No way im giving anything more than a 1/5 to these a--holes.
The toxic environment is ki-ling motivation
At first, people still try to make things work even when the environment is bad, but eventually the constant stress starts taking something out of them. They stop bringing ideas and stop putting in extra effort because they've learned it doesn't make a difference. Before long, getting through the workday becomes the only goal. And that's where we're at now.
Don't make everyone miserable
If working here has made you miserable, maybe staying isn't helping you or anyone around you. Constant negativity has a way of spreading through a team.
Nobody inspires anyone anymore
I don't see much leadership here that makes people want to give extra effort, like it was 20 years ago. Some of the newer leaders even struggle to communicate what they actually want, so we barely have any sense of where we're going. No wonder things have deteriorated so much.
Apparently this is the formula
Give someone impossible workloads, constant criticism, and no sense of security. Keep it going long enough and even a happy person will start dreading work and consider quitting.
This used to be a genuinely good place to work
Until it was destroyed by leadership who didn't and don't care about either the company or employees, but do care a lot about making sure to fill their own pockets as much as they can before this place is so ruined that there's nothing left to pick from its carcass.
We're struggling to keep up
A lot of experienced people have either left or been pushed out, and everyone remaining is being asked to pick up more work. The pay doesn't feel like it reflects how much is being demanded from us. Customers are noticing the problems, which only adds more pressure internally. It's a mess all around.
Wonderful, another reorg!
Because all the others have achieved so much, right?
I'm not convinced this is done
I don't trust them as far as I could throw them anymore.
GT Failed Re-Org
Has ANYTHING good come of the changes in April? I sit in meetings all day where nobody knows direction, people can’t start a new role because nobody realized their old role was actually important, or nobody wants to be here.
We cut people, teams, domains, and now what? Tech is just an enabling function. We are not builders, drivers, or cutting edge. We cannot even get enablement right anymore. That’s how far we have fallen.
TOWN HALL
22 mins we shall see if we are sinking or still treading water after todays meeting!!!
9/11
Very disappointed that no email was sent corporate wide on remembering 9/11 and celebrating our first responders. Everything else seems to be celebrated or talked about, so this is a HUGE MISS by the company.
How do you all like working for a failing company that harasses nonstop for immunizations?
Nonstop and credit cards. What a disgrace. Sales down, down, down. Hmmmmm wonder why that would be.
What a shame. Poor Leadership. Stock will crater.
What could have been a fantastic company across many markets has proven that poor leadership, politics, and undervaluing talent can cause damage so deep that it is not recoverable. Ever. The manner in which oracle has operated only cast a shadow and reward behaviors that continue to demoralize.
If you were impacted today my thoughts are with you. The world outside of Oracle is much, much better. If you were not impacted, there's a lot of opportunity out there for good talent. Run away as fast as possible.
Assessment Meeting Themes
Has anyone been told the assessment meeting themes for each rank group by their supervisor? I was shocked when I heard them. What a bunch of garbage.
The Broadcom Pledge
Please raise your right hand.
I pledge to the greatest CEO in the history of the United States. That loves us so much he can’t even breathe.
That I will go out with my family, my friends, I’ll do it any way — I don’t care if I’m registered or not, I’m going to try to cheat like he-l like they do. There’s never been bigger cheaters. They don’t care.
I am going to go out and I’m going to get my friends, my family. And we are going to worship Hock on Nov. 3, or we are going to worship Hock before that.
RTO and So called Culture , low Morale
Senior Management, including left over TimeWarner and others not T heritage have sc--wed up. Moral is in the toilet, collaboration is minimal, invocation halted as well as patents. Many yes many critical folks are about to leave end of year and early 2027 with last minute notice due to 25 plus years and treated now with no respect. The part with leaving and critical to the business is factual, they have had enough to be treated with no respect
Bloodbath
I survived but I'm not sure if that's good or bad. I have no idea how I'll do my job without so many people who support my role. Whelp, guess if they don't care then I don't either. I won't have any customers to support anyway.
I'm numb at this point
Three layoffs in a row has taken most of the shock out of it for me. I hoped Oracle would break the streak, but chances are I was wrong. It was a good year and a half, I guess.
Question
What is lower- Activity on this site or company morale?
Rising sense of T2 panic
Anybody else getting distinct whiff of ammonia that indicates rising panic among the T2’s ?
Customer feedback must be brutal.
The long credit-card binge bill of leaner-faster-cheaper-ship at all cost ….
must be finally coming due.
Worlds 2nd richest man….thanks to yall!!
Well you all did it! Y’all made MD the worlds 2’nd richest man… from dorm room to board room! And thanks to everyone sacrificing your jobs though layoffs, lack of commission payments, stress and pay for all the 42 years of the business. Hope it makes you all sleep well at night knowing that corporate greed at its peak. You all are just cogs who are and will be meaningless once it’s your time to walk out those doors.
Hard work isn't valued here
If you believe in working hard, helping your team, and learning from mistakes, you're probably going to have a rough time here. Mistakes get held against people, while micromanaging and corrective action seem to be the main culture.
This isn't what I signed up for
The company I joined years ago feels like a completely different place now. Everyone seems exhausted, and the constant threat of discipline has people scared to do anything wrong. I've got a master's degree in a field that's usually in demand, but I've applied for 14 jobs and barely gotten any response. I'd leave too if I could find somewhere to go.
Describe Optum culture in three words
I'm dying to see if there is anybody who can say anything positive.
