Last Friday there was big party walk through of the entire facility literally of like 20 people. Rumors say it was one Baker big dog and our lower management of the Brittmoore facility said they were not told who the others were. I also heard they were told not to sign in with security so nobody knows who they were. What’s up with that? Layoffs? Merger? Buyout?

After merging with texas it looks like a large portion of the east team was cut by C.C. through a deceptive meeting called "Catch up & Connect".

After some of legal was forcibly merged with compliance, people originally from legal are jumping ship and it has been one of the most satisfying things to watch. Especially knowing the egotistical “head of the table” has to be scratching his head as to why everyone is running away with two middle fingers held high.

Check the 8K filings to see Clay got an increase to $1.5MM base salary retroactive to the closing in May and an LTI award of $2.7MM while everyone is told they’ll calibrate compensation next year. Shane keller wasnt relevant when he was forced to retire from UP years ago. Now he's trying real hard to get attention with a merger support article in Aug 25 Railway Age article. In his brilliant words, not mine, his guilt states hes not paid to support the merger, yet fair to say if he spent 30+ years at UP hes still a huge shareholder and benefiting quite handsomely from stocks rise from 220 to $310. Pretty sure Kellers getting paid for such a ridiculous article. STB needs to review this. Keller is chairman at Compass and likely wants to win some UP business....different company now and one that stands to benefit greatly, by supporting UP. An inside job even while on the outside. What a disgrace...

This should tell you everything you need to know about how much confidence he has in the company's future once the merger is completed. I'm still holding out hope that it might get blocked, but I know that's almost impossible. I don't want to be a Debbie Downer, but I just don't see a way for this to turn out well, especially for employees.

Just read an article about merger talks earlier this year. Nothing materialized and nothing more is expected to happen but it made me wonder what the combined company would have been like to work for after the merger.

Having joined MPC from Andeavor/Tesoro, I know things got noticeably worse once MPC took over. Both in little and big ways, it’s not been as enjoyable, fulfilling, and rewarding to work at MPC. No doubt MPC has created shareholder value way beyond what was thought possible at Andeavor but I’m 99.99% an employee and only 0.01% a shareholder so I’m not feeling much of that “value add” from MPC.

So, all that is to say: Would an MPC/P66 company have been better or worse?

When LP communicated no merit increases in Q1, he mentioned that if results were good in Q2, he would reopen the topic. Well, LP tells Wall Street everything is great, rosy, awesome, right on track, etc. and then a week or so later tells the employees the results were bad, and they will look at raises in 2027. That was a gut punch, since this will make 3 years without a raise. My VP told me that his SVP promised raises in August, but we had to sell and inkjet or I would not be eligible. Why do our leaders make promises they can't keep? Here's an idea, maybe fund raises with cutbacks. since we bought Lex, I now have not 1, not, 2, but 3 "VP/SVPs between me and my old SLT SVP. We added 3 layers of people that I have no clue what they do. Why not cut some layers like you are supposed to do with a merger, and fund worker bee merits

Walmart intends to reduce San Bruno staffing mid to late August 2026. August has traditionally been a favorite month for Walmart to lay off associates.

No big deal, though. San Bruno is the leftover bastion from the failed merger, and this appears to be just more cleanup and wind down. There is some speculation, however, that other locations might be hit, as well. We’ll see as more info leaks.
