The most insulting way to lay people off

Getting laid off is like a bad performance everyone pretends is respectful. They read a script, hide behind wording, shove legal paperwork at you, and act like they care. Then they'll turn around and refill the same role like nothing happened most likely within months. That part is what really makes it hard to swallow.


Dell is just a clown show

That’s all I need to say. No direction. Constant changes, flailing changes. No ability to execute or even plan. Talking about things like RTO but not really enforcing it. Schedules constantly missed. Huge investments in contractors. Hiring but constantly laying off for no reason. Not a single technologist at an SVP or executive level. No results just talk.

It’s just a bunch of clowns. The notion of running a business is gone. It’s just about how much can I stuff in my pocket before the thing goes defunct. Pathetic and sad.


Neiman Marcus Boston Store Closure Impacts 73 Employees

Neiman Marcus will close its Copley Place location. The closure is scheduled for April. This action affects 73 workers. The store leaves 100,000 square feet vacant. Simon Property Group plans redevelopment through 2028.

American Eagle Outfitters Closes Logistics Site, 103 Jobs Lost

American Eagle Outfitters acquired Quiet Logistics in 2021. Quiet Logistics operated as a fulfillment service. American Eagle is now closing the Quiet Logistics Devens site. This closure will result in 103 layoffs. The parent company is undergoing a wider business dismantling.

Lexmark workforce reduced following Xerox integration

Lexmark officials confirmed a round of layoffs at the company. The company did not disclose the number of affected staff. Xerox purchased Lexmark in July 2025 and is integrating operations. The city of Lexington has not received a WARN notice. WARN notices are not required for layoffs involving fewer than 50 people.

Santa Clara Unified Approves Staff Layoffs to Address Deficit

Santa Clara Unified School District is moving forward with layoff plans to address a $30 million structural deficit. Superintendent Dr. Damon Wright presented the "rightsizing" plan to the Board of Trustees. The district faces declining enrollment and increased staffing levels since 2017. Initial layoff notices are expected to be distributed by March 15. The plan includes cutting 113.3 certificated, 40 classified, and 15 management full-time equivalent positions.

Greenbrier Minerals Idles Seven Mines, Over 500 Positions Eliminated

Sacramento City Unified Approves 423 Staff Position Eliminations

Sacramento City Unified School District's board approved motions for workforce reductions. These actions could affect 423 preschool and classified roles. The district is addressing a $113 million budget shortfall. Preliminary layoff notices are expected in March, with final decisions in May. Of the affected positions, 121 are currently unfilled.

I'm honestly curious as to why becuase it's always started around this time for the last like 8 years; but haven't heard of any groups being hit hard. I mean yeah, layoffs are a constant thing at Dell but I'm talking about the "big" layoffs they have twice a year. One of which should have already started by now..

WARN Notices

There are many posts about RIFs and advice often posted on social media is to watch WARN trackers. I checked several major states and don’t see many, if any, Elevance notices. But I know people in some of those states were RIFed and given the 60-day notice. (Everyone was remote so I checked physical state and IN.)

Has anyone ever actually been tipped off with the WARN trackers, specifically for Elevance?


Anybody else has trouble believing this?

It's all about the age

Removing people with seniority = removing OLDER employees. It's always the same. When they do a "reorg" with layoffs, they slice and dice the data to hide the age impact. Then they rinse and repeat every couple of years. They don't care about their "teammates." They routinely clean house of the older, more experienced and expensive workers to make the company's financials look better for "The Street" and try to improve the stock price. Most of those folks have 3 years worth of unvested restricted stock that they LOSE when they get laid off and then those shares revert to the company's coffers. They give people NO NOTICE, knowing 99% of them will sign their sh---y severance agreement waiving their right to sue because they need the money. It's horrible the way they treat people.

Mental strength and toughness

How are you all so mentally strong to take the continuous layoffs, relocate states for RTO and adapt to so many life changes?

It totally amazes me what T employees go through every day and still try to put everything aside and focus on work.

I lost 3 colleagues today and sick to stomach returning to ghosted work location.

May be I am getting too old for this, but ever since I joined T, I have seen people in my team go every year.


No, he is not Mr. Rogers

You seen him in that sweater with the zipper that goes down to the chest, trying to protray him as this warm figure like Mr. Rogers. What years did Mr. Rogers air? Mr. Rogers aired from 1968 until 2001. So anyone who was a child during this time is meant to accept the CEO as, a similar figure. But that is where it’s just an illusion. The same tactics used in union busting, but instead applied to all. All a lie. The stock is overvalued, and morale is low. I think lay offs have a high probability of happening.

Pennsylvania third nationally for layoffs

Pennsylvania ranks third nationally for layoff notices this year. Approximately 4,000 workers in the state have received notices for 2026. Amazon Fresh is cutting 983 jobs by closing six Philadelphia-area stores. The GIANT supermarket chain also plans to eliminate about 500 jobs. Economists view these notices as a signal, but not a complete economic picture.

Leg T Layoffs Coming

Talk going around today between Dallas and Atlanta is that it's cheaper to pay off Leg T union employees to get rid of them rather than keep them on the payroll considering high costs, high absenteeism, low productivity and trainability as well as non-collaberative attitudes. It's being agreed on by top leadership that it's much cheaper and far more easy to pay the termination pay per contract, and now that the watermark is no longer an obstacle, the first step will be to declare surplus which means VTP will be offered without a cap. This is expected to reduce the Leg T workforce by at least half. The remaining will be Involuntarily laid off by year end as all Leg T work is automated, outsourced and off-shored.
