Looking for real advice on steps to take in preparation for a possible layoff. What files/information to save, what resources to take advantage of while we still have them, etc. My biggest concern is a lack of medical and dental insurance for my family since I'm the one providing those benefits. Has anyone successfully negotiated an extension of benefits as part of their severance?

Big Law Firms Organize Class Action Lawsuit, We will Join
Oracle shouldn’t get away with Nationality, Age, Race, S-x, Religion discrimination. We invite law firms to initiate a class action lawsuit, thousands of people will join. We will win billions.
ESPP!
What wrong with ESPP?! I got the email that shares were purchased at 108$ each for 10800$ worth but I'm only getting 85 shares instead of 100! WTF! Is it taxes?! If I sell now I basically just get back my money (actually 40$ loss).
If you can, go out on FMLA. Get a doctor to get you a mental recovery month.
Sure would be a great time to take FMLA for anyone that can. It puts your job on hold and they cannot legally release you during that time.
Final Pay?
For those of you have been impacted, how was your final pay received?
I’m salaried and was let go on 3/19 with final date of 4/2. I received a direct deposit on 4/2 in two of my bank accts but not my 3rd acct. I expecting to get paid for 3/22-4/3 period on the next pay date of 4/10 since the last pay date was 3/27.
Have others impacted on 3/19 or previous rounds experienced this? I’m going to guess they just pay out on an off cycle for those laid off?
Are the severance packages any different under ML?
I read when FB was in charge he changed the severance package from 2 week to one week per service year. Is that still the case under ML with the recent layoffs? If it went back to 2 weeks, still capped at 26 weeks?
Severance negotiation?
Anyone aware of someone successful in negotiating severance pay. 3 weeks pay for 3 years is ridiculous.
Be aware
T will term you for something and hide it under “performance” when they have no other reason to fire you. Also, people are being fired due to inaccurate office presence reports. Get yourself a lawyer. You may have a case.
Warn - 60 day
March 31 - April 10th is not some states required 60 days. Even if you count garden leave you would have to be for more than 3+ years to be over 60 days in weeks?
Severance Packages
What is the typical package and what all does it entail?
Wonder if any WARN notices were sent to US Federal and State DOLs, as required by law
By being secretive and not spooking the shareholders on the depth of the layoffs -- 18%--is Oracle management being too cute by half?
By not filing WARN (over 50 employees at one location) or information under OWBPA (Older Workers Benefit Protection Act, which applies when employees over 40 years old are laid off) they are laying themselves wide open for a barrage of lawsuits.
Can someone spill the beans on the severance package (including benefits)
Basically the title. How much are they giving in terms of medical/dental/vision and base pay?
Miserable Severance Payoff
"A payment in the amount of four weeks of base salary for your first year of employment plus one week’s salary for each additional year of employment, based on your most recent hire date, up to a combined maximum of 26 weeks of base salary."
I have just under 15 years of service to the company with numerous awards and promotions for good performance. Like many here, I have poured blood sweat and tears into my job going above and beyond for this company.
All those efforts are now in the dustbin and I am being shown the door with just 18 weeks of pay (which will be fully subject to tax).
As an older person with specialist skills, I am not easily going to find another similar role, if at all. The future seems very dark and uncertain and I am fearful
Severance package?
How many weeks based on years of service?
Jury verdict - fired in retaliation
A Manhattan federal jury on Monday awarded $8.4 million to a New York University professor and former Cognizant Technology Solutions employee who claimed he was fired in retaliation for alleging the information technology company engaged in systematic hiring bias.
. . .
Jean-Claude Franchitti said he was fired in 2016 from a $350,000-a-year job after a decade at New Jersey-based Cognizant. He claimed it was retaliation for asking questions about the company's alleged bias toward hiring workers from India as part of a "cheap labor" profit model.
The award for Franchitti consisted of $4.2 million in back pay, or lost wages, and $4.2 million in punitive damages. The jury declined to award compensation for front pay, or future earnings, or for an emotional distress claim.
The trial revealed a dearth of written communications from Franchitti complaining about Cognizant's alleged strategy to keep a cheap labor pipeline open. His lawyers said Franchitti kept concerns verbal because he knew he was walking a "fine line" and wanted to find fixes diplomatically.
Franchitti is pleased with the verdict, his lawyer, Daniel Kotchen, told Law360 via email.
"The jury sent a strong message that violating employees' rights will not be tolerated," he said.

AI Orchestrated Layoff ? - Complete InHuman
This Layoff was entirely orchestrated through AI and ML tools inside Oracle. This is the first AI orchestrated layoff completely done end to end in IT industry. The mail were scheduled on time, the slack channel were turned off (Just like last time). but all the rest of orchestration like monitoring a person in his laptop, blocking all access, automated mail access removal and shut down of mail and finally laptop shutting down.
Automated Severance calculation and everything goes smooth.
But the way Layoff was conducted was totally InHuman and people who worked 15+, 20+ years or 30+ years deserve some respect and it could have been handled better. They were thrown like bread crumbs.
How to notify the NJ DOL WARN about non-compliance by Oracle layoffs
NJ WARN is 90 days but remote employees is a grey area.. But some remote employees in WA state got Jun 1 as the last day while NJ folks got only two weeks.
NJ needs 50 employees to trigger the law and all layoffs across the whole NJ state is covered and layoffs within 30 days.
Any idea how to notify the NJ DOL WARN about non-compliance ? Oracle had 900-950 employees in NJ pre layoffs.
Oracle layoffs (Mar-31) and NJ WARN period rights

Who wants to join me in the fight to get a 90 day notice period from Oracle ?
Oracle
Anyone know if there is a severance from Oracle? I heard 6 months?
Do you get any kind of severance if you joined less than a year ago?
I haven't been laid off, at least not yet, I'm just curious.
Can somebody share severance details, please?
Just to see if there were any hidden changes.
why mine say "today is your last working day", no WARN?

Is there room to negotiate on the termination date
My termination date is 5 days before my vesting date. I want to request that my termination date be extended to cover the vesting date. Any suggestions on how to go about this?
Question to the people who got laid off , did you get paid?
Like the title suggests, have you received your paychecks for the previous and current month (February and March), including the VCP? Also, there is an additional severance package that is supposed to be paid as well, correct?
Layoff protocols
You’re informed by manager in 1:1 or a VP/Director in group con call
The manager/VP marks it complete in the APEX app
The system, slack & email deactivation kicks off by the APEX app.
You’ll receive an email at your personal Email with follow up
You’ll Docusign the termination contract to receive the severance.
Benefits terminate immediately. You’ll have the COBRA option to continue coverage later retroactively to the day after termination date.
Good luck
Layoffs - On Leave
How does it work for people on parental leave? Does that make you more or less likely to be on the list? If you're on the list, how is it handled?
Severance agreement vs rehire
I have received a severance agreement after my layoff from Citi. If I am offered a job at Citi in a different department but turn down the job, will I lose the severance?
I don't see this question addressed in the agreement.
voluntary severance packages
Any info on voluntary severance packages for employees over 50?
questions for those laid off...
Sorry if this has been answered in a previous post, and I've got a couple of questions that I hope someone can answer.
- So we work like normal for the final 90 days, in addition to the standard salary for these last three months, will we get severance on top of it? From what I'm seeing online, some people have said 2 weeks' pay for each year.
- What happens to all the PTO that we had planned out for the rest of the year after June 30th? Will we be paid out for those missed days, or should I cancel those and take them between now and June 30th?
Layoffs Scheduled for Late May and Early June
Layoffs are scheduled to begin soon. They will take place between May 29 and June 12. Senior employees have specific transfer rights. These employees hold union membership. They can transfer to other stores nearby.

Could we get to a point where severance is not offered?
I learned recently severance was not legally mandated. I honestly thought it was, because, why would they pay us to leave if they didn't have to? So now I can't get that out of my head and wonder what if they really decide that severance is not something they want to bother with?
What exactly happens if a someone does not take the Voluntary Retirement Program? Laid off anyway?
This happened to my team mbr. IIRC he was in his 70s. During the final meeting, he said he enjoyed the work and he literally said he wanted to work longer, but he got the hint from the VRP.
What would have happened if he didn't take VRP? Laid off anyway the next round?
DOL/DOJ
REVERSE DISCRIMINATION SUIT COMING.
If I Leave, Does Quarterly Service Bonus Still Pay
If I make it to EOQ, I've done that quarters work. If I leave before the quaterly service bonus pays out end of April, do I still get that pay?
Has anyone who has been bagged out reached out to an attorney?
If it is true that people who decline the offer to move to the partner will not have an opportunity to collect severance package, how is this legal?? Has anyone reached put to an attorney? The handbook is very clear…you are not eligible for severance package if you decline a position WITHIN the company. The positions being offered are NOT within the company!
WARNING: Cognizant Bench Policy
Cognizant generally allows a 35-day bench period for employees to secure a project, often followed by a 6-10 day grace period or extension notices. Once bench time exceeds 45 days, employees enter a "risk zone" and may be asked to initiate voluntary resignation or face involuntary termination.
(Find work or leave without severance)
Check terms before signing any new contract.
