Something positive

I just moved to a new department and I absolutely love it! The leader is driving positive change and has the best attitude! Centene gets a bad wrap because of some toxic management (that needs to go). But there are some really great leaders who... — read more

Never work with Centene H.R.

If you are having problems as a Centene employee DO NOT TALK TO H.R. They are NOT your friend. Call a lawyer immediately.

Corp. Marketing

The Corporate Marketing team is next up. Layoffs began this week. I was impacted, along with at least 2 others that I’m currently aware of. GOOD RIDDANCE!

Warning: Toxic Work Environment Alert

Despite not facing layoff yet, I'm in an uncomfortable position, contemplating resignation, waiting for termination, or hoping for a layoff to receive my tenured severance. I'm overwhelmed with tasks beyond my expertise, despite repeatedly asking for... — read more

Conducted an experiment! Beware!!

October layoff still searching for a job. I found out my PL has been giving bad references, and she shouldn't be giving a reference at all. She is supposed to send people to the WorkDay number. I had a feeling this was happening, so I sent an... — read more

There were 2 candidates for the CEO job

I don't know if the stock or employee morale would be performing any better under different leadership, but something about these announcements seems off. Layton was a 20+ year Centene veteran so he seemed like a shoe in. And then a board member... — read more

No more flexible schedules!

My team was just notified that anyone under Jen Drexinger is losing the flexible schedule option. You now have to pick a set schedule and stick to it. If you log in more than 15 minutes late it's considered a tardy. Not sure when it goes into effect... — read more

Happy to quit!

I hope you don’t find this message insulting in anyway, I just cannot contain my excitement any longer. I finally, finally, finallllyyy put in my resignation. I got a new position, different company, different field. And I literally screamed from... — read more

Centene a Poorly run Company

Centene has a CEO that is utterly unqualified to run an enterprise like this, not a clue with so many great leaders in healthcare with histories of success they chose as such, maybe for being a woman and an ok story teller, but the true is she ... — read more

Centene Layoffs April 2024??

Can someone please give more information on this? Is it just BTS? Is there anyway to tell when and who is getting hit?

Wow, poorest experience

My last working day is approaching, following RIF of my entire department. HRBP said our health insurance coverage continues for 3 mos, but documents today said it ends in about 3.5 wks. If they treat their employees this way, I can't imagine the... — read more

Word on the street - Centene Layoffs coming!

So - from upper leadership, they have identified the next rounds of layoffs (hearing hardware folks - not sure what this means atm). They will be notified in April 2024 and will be exited in May 2024. This will not be like the last time where they... — read more

Don't be surprised if layoffs in this place

Don't be surprised if layoffs in this place, Centene under Sarah/Drew is not only poorly run, is also the most treacherous, backstabbing place you can find, this people smile with you, tell you how great you are and tomorrow fire you. No even in the... — read more

Centene's Reputation

I wasn't an employee very long with CNC, but if they ever had a good reputation in the industry...it's gone now. I hate they are on my CV.

New Layoffs? Townhall today

In the town hall today they said they “could not rule out” more layoffs, and some areas still need to be “right-sized”. Anyone have info on when the layoffs will happen? If they are saying that much in the town hall, you can pretty much bet there... — read more

COLA?

Anyone get a cost of living adjustment in addition to their annual review percent increase? Some on my team did while others did not. How is the decision made on who gets a cost of living increase if inflation impacts everyone?

Advancement is a joke at this company

I’ve been here 5 years. Every single application I have put on for a position outside of my department has been denied. I haven’t even made it to the office interview stage. They talk all this cr-p wanting to keep talent in house. Rarely happens... — read more

New rules

Maybe our team had more lenient supervisors in the past or the one we have now is so stuck up in her a$$. Forcing us to use PTO for something we can make up the same day or same week is wild to me? Also said leader wants everyone to start and... — read more

Another round of layoffs coming.

Today in BTS all teams meeting, it’s clearly stated by our CFO that another round of layoffs will be happening soon. I am thinking they want to go in the route of AI heavy and reduce headcount.

Survey Results

It’s disheartening by the recent survey scores. I can't speak for every leader but it’s unfair for those leaders who inherited a new team right before the survey is rolled out and blamed for the low ratings. We’re slapped with, do better and find... — read more

BONUS criteria

Does anyone know why some are getting bonuses and some are not? I have colleagues that are not corporate who are getting the bonus and I’m with corporate and not receiving. Why some and not all?

What determines your performance rating

I worked here for about 10 yrs as a people leader. I can tell you the determination of your performance rating is often established prior to the completion of you writing your performance review. For ratings above “meets” requires an explanation... — read more

Lower bonuses

Anyone notice that bonus amounts (if you get them) were lower this year? I’ve heard from a few colleagues that bonuses were lower despite the percentage increase.

Legos and tacos

If the talking points from today's Town Hall are any indicator of what Centene Executive Leadership talks about in their own private meetings then it's no surprise why this company is taking a nosedive.

Question

Do you guys think, that perhaps one of the/or possibly, the main reason why the company is becoming more toxic and hostile to work for is because they want us to quit rapidly rather than let us go since layoffs and firings cost more? The only reason... — read more
